Interview with Crest DeVahl

	Time for the interview to begin. Say hello, Crest!
	Uhhh... hello.
	So, let's get a few basic questions out of the way, and then we'll turn it over to the readers. First, how would you describe yourself as a person?
	Ummm... I don't know. How should I answer that? I guess I'm just a normal guy.
	Could you describe what you do for a living?
	Uh, well I don't really have a job, like what you'd call a "normal job." Lately I've been playing cards a lot to make money, but I guess that's gonna have to stop now. I dunno... don't really know what I'm going to do now.
	Okay, let's take some questions from the readers now. Lightmybulb asks: "How did your Mother become blind?"
	She has a disease...
	Thorn asks: "Why the silly glasses?"
	They're not silly... they hide my eyes when I'm playing poker. So people can't see when I'm looking at 'em.
	Dragon Huik asks: "Who taught you to play cards?"
	I used to hang out with kids who played poker. I learned a little bit from them, but mostly I learned by reading books.
	Jurodan asks: "How did you learn how to cheat?"
	This kid I used to hang out with taught me about it. I've always been good with slight-of-hand stuff, so he showed me how to do tricks with cards.
	Signet Wallstand asks: "How much gold have you won playing cards?"
	Uhhh... well I had around 700 gold pieces, I think. But I lost my money pouch... so now I have nothing...
	Lucifer H asks: "When Dice tested you before the poker match, what excatly happened and what 'everyday enchantments' do you have?"
	Just, like... a bath enchantment, and my clothes are enchanted not to get dirty.
	Doom123 asks: "What are you going to do about the whole Dice situation? Will you ask her out to a date? Ignore her? Go eloping and get married? Please do tell! I'm curious to see what your plans are!"
	Uhhh... well I hadn't really thought about it... I don't think I would ask her out, even if I had the guts, 'cause I don't want to see those guys ever again if I can help it...
	ENK: "Would you like to play a game of strip poker sometime? I'll pretend not to notice you cheating. ;-)"
	Strip poker...? Uhhh, is this a girl's question? Ummm... isn't that the game where, y'know, you take off clothes and stuff? No, I just uhhh.. well I don't think so. Not that I don't want to, but... umm... well I don't even know you! So, I mean... that's a silly question! I mean, no offense or anything! I'm not saying you're silly. But, ummm... and I wouldn't cheat, but that's just a wierd question...! Look, let's go on to the next one, ok...?
	Whirly: "Hey Crest! How would you react to the news that Maytag likes other girls... LIKES them likes them. (P.S.: The goggle/scarf combo looks kickass.)"
	What do you mean likes them likes them? You mean likes them likes them? Like, really likes them? Ummmm... c'mon, I don't think that's true... she seems like she likes guys a lot...
	Lawen: "Do you have any plans for making money now that cards are out of the question?"
	Uhhh... I dunno...
	Crazy Razor: "Besides playing poker for money and going to see Maytag, is there anything else you like to do in your spare time?"
	Uh, well... not much. I read. Sometimes I like to go wander around the city.
	Kiroth: You don't seem to treat Orransong the same as you do the other knights. How do you know him and how long?
	Huh? I could care less about that guy. Look, he's just another knight.
	Libelle: Have you ever done anything you really regret?
	Uhhh... I guess so. I regret cheating in those stupid poker games...
	Eranju: You mentioned you read a lot on your freetime, what kind of books do you read?
	Lately I've been reading books about how to play poker. I also like horror novels...
	Reverie: Why are you so shy and withdrawn all the time? Did something happen to you to have made you that way?
	Uhhh... well, it's just around girls that I have that problem, I mean if there's no cute girls around then usually I'm fine.
	Smiles: Upon finding out that first impressions aren't always the most correct character assessment, what with you meetting Maytag and all, is there a side of you we have yet to discover?
	Uhhh... maybe! I mean, I dunno... that's kind of a hard question to answer. I'm sure that there's probably some stuff you don't know about me!
	Khyryn: Would you consider becoming a knight if it meant your mom wouldn't be blind anymore?
	Well... I guess. But knights wouldn't really approve of her using sorcery like that. So, I don't think a deal like that is gonna happen. Which is fine. If I have to be a knight, it would make me sick.
	Outshined: Crest, did you ever consider getting an honest job? It'd be a whole lot less dangerous than trying to cheat gamblers. I could see you doing really well as a male model with your excellent taste in clothing and hairstyle.
	Male model...?! Are you screwing with me? Look, I'd get an honest job if I could make that kind of money, but it'd take forever! Playing cards to make money is so much easier. Ok, maybe trying to cheat those guys was stupid... next time I'll just be more careful.
	Naomi: Hi, Crest. Liking the 'angsty teen' look; it works for you. Anyway: If you're risking life, limb (and eyes) to pay for your mother's cure, why not go the whole way and be a bit nicer to her? All credit to her because she doesn't seem to care, but you treat her like dirt. Or is it pissing you off that she might be doing the bad thing with Orransong?
	Bad thing? What bad thing? Wha... wait, you mean...? With my mom...? ........ She's not doing that! Not with him! Look... just don't say that about my mom! And anyway, I am nice to her. What to you know anyway?!
	Mewofforcena: I have a question for crest: Why do you hate knights so much? I mean, maybe those who talked to you on the street were rash, but guys like sir orransong seem nice. Is it just the fact that most of them don't like you and suspect anything of you?
	Because they're stupid all right? They're fucking stupid. There, that's my answer.
	Evi: I'm shy, I like to read, and I don't have confidence in asking guys out, but seeing you in the comic, I got 3 bfs now. THANKS!!...And.. uh... I dunno, what's your favorite color? I like red.
	........ Um... well, uh, good for you I guess... My favorite color? Uhhh... black.
	Matter: How large are you? In that way. You know, down there. Yeah, I'm talking about that.
	........ Are they all trying to embarress me now? This sucks. What kind of name is that anyway, Matter? Is this a guy or a girl? If it's a guy then there's something wrong with you. Anyway, I'm glad I can't see the people asking these questions cause if a girl asked me that, I'd like... I dunno, collapse.
	Areklis: what do you use to keep the Maytag poster glued on your wall?

	Ashlar: Crest, why did you choose gambling to raise money for your mother's eyes. I'm sure that gambling has it's perks if you play right, but why not try something less risky?
	That's kind of a dumb question... no offense, but you're obviously the kinda guy who doesn't understand poker. It's not gambling if you know what you're doing... I mean, look how much money I made! Do you think I was lucky? Of course not... as long as I'm better than the other players, I can always make money playing poker. Actually, the real problem now is finding a game, especially if everyone else in town finds out that I cheated...
	Llyriel: Hey Crest! I hope the impudence of some of the other questions hasn't irritated you too much. I was actually more curious about the type of education you have had. Presuming you went to school, what kind of school was it, and how did it affect your life?
	Well, actually the school in this town isn't that great, so I was home-schooled.
	Zakilyman: why don't you figure out another way to get money?
	I will, unless I can find some other people to play cards with.
	Closet-monster: Well, uh, I see you're a bit...discombobulated when it comes to girls, and I know it'd be difficult for you to ask one out and all, but...what if a cutie got up the nerve to ask you out? And she thought the sweating and stuttering was...adorable?
	Um... I guess I'd go out with her, y'know? I mean... I doubt that would ever happen, but...
	Bikuto: Crest, my good man. What are your combat skills like? Whilst you seem to despise the knights with a great passion, you must have spent some time around them at some point. Have you picked up any swordsmanship skills along the way?
	Well, actually... when I was younger I studied some with Orransong, so, I'm not bad with a sword. But I haven't been very interested in practicing lately, so I guess I'm pretty rusty...
	Twitch: What is your favorite card in a deck and why? What about your least favorite.
	Umm... I haven't really thought about it. I guess the Ace would be my favorite, and the duece would be my least favorite. Even though "dueces never loses," I'm kidding by the way...
	Curly: Good evening, Crest. A small inquiry here. I noticed that you mentioned your enjoyment with literature. Namely horror novels. You also said that you had a "disability" when it came to conversing with those of the opposite sex, though that was rather obvious. Well, why not combine two and two together? Read some "how-to" books on women, mate! I'm certain that they'll have a couple of 'Ladies for Dummies' floating around in the local library. With the right kind of help, you could be "cured" in no time flat.
	Hey... that's actually a really good idea! Maybe I'll do that, thanks man!
	Hobo Hitman: Well, first of all. I like your like....personality n' stuff. It's cool. I'm a writer and ironically, one of my characters is alot like you. Who was your father and what happened to him? Was he kind?
	Well... I wish I could answer that, but he died when I was really young. So I never really got to know him... my memory of him is just, completely fuzzy... from what my mom tells me, he was a really good guy.
	Ame: C'mon Crest, you're a sweet and cute guy! I think you have all the potential to use your personality and charm to win Maytag over, you just need to see it yourself. So, my question is: Do ~you~ believe you can do it like I do? Be careful with your answer-Hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn. (Especially one that wants to make you blush because it's too adorable...)
	Umm, well... that's very nice of you, I guess... but, I just don't think I can. I'll never win a girl like Maytag over... she's so far above me.

	Uhhh, nothing. I don't know any magic. I'm not the one who enchanted my clothes, I bought these.

	Kyogen: Why do you think strange people you havent met are asking you questions?

	Ritalin: Why do you think you are so attracted to Maytag?
	........ Duhhh... just look at her! Heh, that's what I'd like to say... but actually it's more than just her looks, I mean there's lots of pretty girls around but only one of Maytag. It's just... the way she talks, I guess. It's hard to explain. Her personality is so unique.
	Psycho Girl: Great hair style Crest my looks very similar, but any way. Why is it that the only infatuation you have with a girl - MAytag. Seems to be a biasly Physical intrest, i.e. her boobs and her butt.? (noted form the multiple stares) Are you looksin for a short term shallow relationship cause you're on the right track? To impress a gilr you need to highlight her emotional atributes.
	Hey... it's not just because of her looks that I'm into her, ok? I mean, it's hard not to stare at those things, cmon! But that doesn't mean it's all I care about.
	Angel Gabriel: How much did it hurt when you were hit?
	It hurt a lot, actually... but I'm ok now. Thanks for asking.
	McCloud: Your mother hasn't been born blind, she did see your face once. Did an accident happen or anything like that? I'd love to know, your mother seems a sweet person.
	Thanks. No, she wasn't born blind, it did happen in an accident when I was young. It was from a sorcerer's spell that hit her accidentally.
	Lady Anaia: Hello Crest, if you could, just call me Anaia. Anyway, would there be an um... possibility of you liking someone other than... erm.. maytag.. like me for example? Many thanks for your time, Anaia.
	Uhhh... well, um, I guess... I mean, I don't really know you and all... um...
	Lancet: Well, You seem like a man that has Amazing Potential with a Sword. And You have obviously seen Bernadette's Impressive "Split Rose" Technique. Even though you just met Bernadette, Have you thought of perhaps asking her to become a pupil? And perhaps learning the ways of the "Split Rose" for yourself? Not only would it be a chance to hone your skills and earn money for your mothers blindness, But also get closer to Maytag.
	Hmm... well, I admit that lady Bernadette's technique is very impressive... I would love to learn a technique like that.
