Didn't say it did have anything to do with it. It's not a calculation of what age range you're likely to find someone worth giving your heart to, it's a calculation of what age difference society will generally accept before labeling you a cradle snatcher or a couger hunter. Obviously we're free to date anyone at any legal age we like (outside special professional relationships such as psychologists and their patients) but when dating outside that age range, we're more likely to cop that label... Not that we'd necessarily care if we've found someone to give our heart to.

Imagine changing diapers fro 50 years. Yuck. I'm pretty sure that's one of the circles of hell.

Also, it seems like the further we get from the release of Tolkein's Lord of the Rings, the younger elves get. the fellowship of the ring movie Elrond casual says "I was there when the strenght of men failed. I was there three thousand years ago." As of D&D 4th edition elves only have a maximum lifespan of around 700 years. At this rate, D&D manuals in 2050 will say "And elves are also incrediblly long lived! Some elves have been known to live to the ripe old age of ONE HUNDRED AND 2!

That was part of the joke.

I picked the number I did because my very own great grandmother lived to be 104. 102 is a tiny tiny number for a supposedly long lived supernatural race. By the time you and I are old, people will regularly live to 150 like you said, if the advances in medicine we've made in the last 100 years in any indicator. In fact, after mapping out the human genome within 80 years people might no longer die of old age at all. It would really silly if elves lived to 700 years old then.

I got the impression that Tolkein's elves were immortal. i.e. no age limit.

I think Feist has his elves living to well over 1000 on average before they even start showing old age. Kerr was only 500 years.

And as for aging Elves mature from an infant to preteen in about 25 years then their growth slows down to its normal rate.
Usually an elf is an adult between the ages of 120-160 depending on the race of elf.

I am going out of town for a couple of days, so I will leave this thread with a possibly disturbing topic...

I just got back from my lover house(who just got back from Quebec), and we had amazing sex(twice

)... but heres the catch - she was on her period.

She was self conscious about the whole thing, and the first time, made sure that all the lights were off, and the next morning she had me wear a blindfold(and a pair of handcuffs for good measure).

So my question to you folks is slightly more than implied.

What is period sex to you? Weird, gross, enticing?

I'm kind of torn about period sex.

Part of me says yeah, because I'm damn horny when I'm on my period, and the blood is an excellent lubricant.

The other side says no, because... It's really gross. Seriously. Blood and parts of the uterus lining? Yumm. That, and I always feel bloated and ugly during that time. Not to mention the water weight and pimples. Arrrgh the pimples!

well i accidently had sex with an ex while she was on her period and she didnt notice but i had blood on my arm (not sure how) and i had to tell her it was from me because she gets really self conscious about it. annnyways, i dont like it personally because it gets blood everywhere and i dont like the feeling personally. but thats just my 2 cents

I've always wanted to do it. Not like I get turned on by blood exactly, but I always wanted to do it because it seems more intimate then regular sex, somehow.
