Nah! in my experience jeans are the worst thing to keep you warm and dry in winter, they take too long to dry out and go all cold and clamy.

That completely depends. Over the years I've had some damn comfortable jeans. The pair I was wearing today. seconded as sleep wear during the winter. But I also have a pair that has never been soft... ever, even after wearing them almost daily for a good month...

Don't give me that look they got washed plenty often...
