As far as my 2c Eversist, don't bother trying to label your preferenses, just enjoy them! Saves a lot of grief and angst in the long run :)

I'm always afraid that I will be murdered in my sleep and then my family will find me naked! How embarassing for dead me!

Razzly, Your An Athiest!  ::)
You don't believe that you'll have any awarness after you die!
You won't be around to care!
Talk about your irrational fears!  ::)

Plus, extranious cloaths in bed make it harder to masturbate.

I won't be around to care, no, but the thought is still embarassing, and if I can prevent it, I -won't- be found naked.

I've always wondered about my sexuality.
I mean, I know I like boys. They're more fun to be around than girls (generally speaking, of course). And I've had heterosexual sex with a loving (ex)boyfriend, and I did enjoy it.
So is it possible to be straight, while still appreciating the female form, and fantasizing about activities with other women every once in a while?
I don't think it's worth the grief of coming out if I'm only "tentatively" bi. XD
Thoughts?

It's quite normal for women to fantasize about other women, i mean... what's not to love about it?
It doesn't make you gay tho, it's just something you will figure out through experience i guess.
Maybe you  don't care about gender but like people for who they are, that could make you a bi sexual.
Anyway.. just my two cents.

Oh, and Ronin, in regards to what you said in the Chapter discussion about sexual experimentation, I know it's true for me anyway. I've never said anything about it to anyone else though, but I did experiment a bit with the boy next door and one classmate when the three of us were in grade school. Identity wise, I have decided there's no reason to classify myself at all, instead I go with my feelings without stopping to considder a label.

I would say don't bother "coming out" unless it becomes a problem in your personal life: ie: causes you savere emotional distress. If you feel angsty becuase you are "lying to everone", the best thing
to do might be to tell someone you trust.
In day to day activities, I only mention my bisexuality to pepole I find singularly trustworthy or special or open
minded (or some combonation of the three.)

If you find yourself in love with another woman and decide to introduce her to your parents, it might be time to come out of the closet. If you fool around with another chick while drinking heavily, or to impress your boyfriend or something, no one expects you to "come out". In US culture, just about everyone does that kind of stuff, but no one talks about it (  ::) ). I am personly of the opinion that whom you fuck is ultimently only the business of whom you are fucking.

The focus should always be one your own mental health. If you are comfortable with it remaining personal, keep it so. If you feel like your "living a lie" unless you tell someone you should tell someone.
And finallly, If you don't think it's a big deal, don't let it be. You can mention it if you feel you should, and let others come up with thier own assuptions.

Though my emotional preferences is most definitely female, always has been. Just like I've always had equally intense emotions for two women at any time.

In my opinion, human sexuality is much more fluid than the modern concept of "sexual identity/orientation/preference" would have us believe.
I don't think you should come out as bi if you don't believe having sex with men AND women is a big part of your identity.
So, yeah it's possible to be "mostly straight" while still thinking of women. There's a reason the Kinsey scale has 6 numbers.

Plus, extranious cloaths in bed make it harder to masturbate.

Some people like a challenge.

If you say so.  ::)

Ooh! I have a joke too. It doesn’t have anything to do with sex though.

Hey Eversist, Welcome :)

I don't think sexuality is a stable state - it's fluid and evolving.  It's perfectly possible to only have sex with men and still fantasize about women every so often. Or appreciate the female form. I was actually exactly where you were at when I was younger. Granted, 90% of my friends are still dudes, but I had only ever had sex with guys. I still appreciated the female form and looked at porn, but I had considered myself straight.

And honestly, the majority of my sexual experiences have still been with guys. This probably has something to do with the fact that I get a long better with them and have some awesome gender dysphoria thing going on.

Why worry about it? As far as your family and whatever is concerned, I don't think it's any of their business unless you were about ready to settle down with a girl.

(aaaah, wrote this in the morning and didn't post since I've been sick today so I missed a lot. oh well.)

Why thanks, Akayashi.

I agree Ruroni Kenshin used to be my favorite anime.

Mine too. It was the first anime I truly obsessed over and watched religiously (apart from DBZ, but I didn't like that as much as RK).

Get well soon Akasha

Personally I think Sexual preferences are fairly fluid, just like food preferences.  You can go a year or a week loving one food to suddenly become sick of it the next day.  Sometimes you'll want it more and otherdays you'll be avoiding it.  And (for those straight) you can go your whole life without liking some foods.

Its the same with the amount.  Some times you'll go for a week or two of sex and/or masturbation twice a day or more and then you'll go for a week or two of little or nothing.

I will mention though that scientists have discovered that genetics has a part to play in a person's sexual preferences (They bred lesbian worms who attempted to mate with each other and generally avoided the males) which is good for telling those blasted shrinks that its not a mental condition they can cure.  Of course it does sort of imply that your strongly controlled and pre-destined by your genetics to be the way you are, which could be insulting for those who believe in choice.

My personal sexuality is pretty much straight.  "Pretty much" in the sense that while I'm not really turned on or curious at the thought of intimacy with another man, I'm not turned off or sickened by it either.

I personally am 100% straight, and have never had any interest whatsoever in men. I have a considerable amount of inertia behind it as well, so it's both innate feelings and personal choice for me.

Anyone who says it's black and white is wrong, and probably has one insecurity or another. There is no "no one is bi" or "everyone is bi", the latter of which annoys me to no end when people bring it up.

Wow, thanks for all of the feedback everyone. I really appreciate it, and enjoyed reading the resulting conversation.

Yeah, I think I'll just keep that tab of my "sex life" under wraps unless it actually comes up later on in life. I've never actually fooled around with a girl or anything remotely close, so I can't really say I've experienced the feelings that would go with that.
I just know growing up I was mildly homophobic, and looking back, it makes a fair bit of sense.
Oh, and my parents would flip a moderately-sized shit if I were to even bring any of this up with them. They wouldn't on the outside, but they would on the inside. XD

If it's any consolation, Over at Ghastly's Ghastly comic forum, our sole virgin went away for six months, and came back after having a foursome with his girlfriend, his best friend, and his Best Friend's girlfriend, After a game of D&D.

Our massive congratulations were only tempered by our confusion as to why he wasn't playing burning wheel.
