I'm playing This
Picked this up again after about two years away.
There is no need to be coy, You can just tell us straight up that you're playing Excel: MMO edition.
Well thats one of the more polite things I've heard it called.
Also one of the more accurate.

An amusing coincidence - Excel used to include a flight simulator built in as an easter egg.

Have you played any of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games? They may be right up your alley.

I've got Shadow of Chernobyl collectors ed. and it's very fun, but a bit buggy at times. And very very scary at first play-through...

I've been playing that since it was in beta, and so far I'm a little disappointed at the content, that and the incredibly low population.

Ill admit it has its ups and downs but im hoping as it gets mroe popular the content will continue to increase and more people will learn about it. You have to admit its getting there haha

There are actually mods out there to make it a First person shooter instead of a third. Which is both interesting and stupid.

Not as stupid as you think - it's actually built on the source engine, which had to be modded in the first place to let it NOT be an FPS.

That's exactly why it is stupid, because then it just becomes another source based FPS.
That's also why it's interesting though because it's changes game play drastically, I can see not being able to see over the walls then getting raped by parasites as you turn a corner.

OM NOM NOM FACECRABS

well. The first person mods were bound to happen, but I'm more interested in what other fun things people are going to do with it. Haven't been able to grab any of the interesting looking survival maps people have made yet, either.

Still, good times

True, but the game was made to encourage people to do things differently and mod the source engine more. It's ironic, not stupid, that the first thing they did was to mod the game that encourages people to do different mods for the source engine was to make that game into an FPS.

Anyone know about 4story? Its a F2P mmorpg that supposedly has graphics styled like WoW but is also similar to MapleStory in its "premium items" and whatnot. I downloaded it but i cant get it to work because the hack shield picks up nearly everything as a "cheat program".

Wii-- Red Steel 2. Very fun and satisfying game. Recommended for any Wii owner, even if you didn't like the first game. In fact, especially if you didn't like the first game. It's what Red Steel 1 should have been all along, and the MotionPlus device (required for it, but optionally included with it for $10 more) makes all the difference in the world.

Sega Saturn-- DonPachi. No fucking clue why, when it's one of the most lackluster shoot-em-ups on the system... Ah well, every time I play it, I learn to appreciate the better Saturn shooters even more, such as its vastly-improved sequel, DoDonPachi. It's like watching George A. Romero's Return of the Living Dead, then watching any other zombie movie.

Yep. That and Nanaca Crash. (highly recommended if by some odd chance you haven't played it yet. The game's ancient, but a goddamn classic.)

I don't know about -ancient-.... I have been around these nets since the time of bbs's and when the net was called the information superhighway. lol

But yes, Nanaca Crash is at least on par with if not greater than Robot Unicorn Attack. CLASSIC. :)

Red Steel 1 was so bad. SOOOO BAD. I couldn't justify the second. Is it really that good?

--

I'm somewhere stuck in some horrible loop between dwarf fortress and starcraft 2 at the moment.

That's what made me skeptical at first, too. But it's a completely different game. Different setting (wild west/ samurai crossover fantasy world), and no more "scripted swordfight" bullshit; you can shoot or slash at any time, and learn over-the-top attacks on par with Devil May Cry. The MotionPlus thing makes every sword attack 1:1 for how you're actually moving the Wiimote, and there doesn't seem to be any lag when you're aiming your gun, either. Don't want to fanboy about it, but I just picked it up last week and it's really surprised me so far with how good it is. I hated the first game too, but again, this is basically a completely different game and I'm surprised they even bothered to include "Red Steel" in the title.

Notice how with each new Elder Scrolls game, though, the world gets smaller and smaller. Fuck's sake, at this rate we'll have The Elder Scrolls VIII: Someone's Back Yard in no time. :(
