Good stuff.

I'd have to say that one of the highlights of the night was Churba, My 88 year old Grandad, one other mate and myself all singing some ancient old drinking song from my Grandad's war days.

Was it just me or did you actually know the words to that Churba?

Glorious! Victorious
One Barrel of beer betwen the four of us!
Glory be to God, there isn't any more of us,
'cos one of us could drink the flaming lot!

I'll be there (I'll be there)
I'll be there (I'll be there)
When the beer is on the table I'll be there
When the beeeeeer is on the table
When the beer is on the table I'll be there
It wasn't just you, I remembered it indeed. It's quite proudly traditional.

Okay, I have a confession to make...  I don't really care that much for the Depeche Mode.  I don't *Dislike* them really, so much as a general feeling of "meh."  When they come on the radio.  But it wasn't until recently that I realized how many people out there DO like them.  A lot.  Vehemently so.

Please don't stone me.  It hurts.

Hahaha, I'm not a vehement depeche mode fan, just the subject matter was too perfect as a response. You're safe. ...for now.

I'm once again being paid to drink and smoke on expenses, this time, interviewing for a magazine. Oorah!

I might be a hopeless prick, and look like hammered shit wrapped in a leather jacket, but how many people can say they get paid to drink and talk shit? And I even get to tell y'all about it from my phone, from my favorite karaoke and cheap drinks dive-bar.

Hey, all those fuckers who said I'd never get anywhere in life? Hope you enjoy your office, cocksuckers! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Fuck me, Journalism is great.

As long as you stay honest Churba  :)  I get paid to destroy things every so often.  Still doesn't quite make up for the times where I'm NOT paid to destroy things though.

I get paid for cutting wood and placing/nailing/drilling it, to build a dock. Meh, at least it's only once a week and it pays well. :D

Okay, so on a more serious note that most of my posts, I was on my way home, and I happened to be present at (But not involved in thankfully) a three vehicle wreck.  It wasn't very pretty, I ditched my bike and ran over to see if there was anything I could do to help.  Turns out, not much.
I've got plenty of experience in treating sprains, burns, and general lacerations, but it's all been learned "the hard way" so to speak, because I've volunteered at a couple of clinics.

I'm wondering if there's any EMTs/Paramedics in the crowd here.
I've been meaning to take a CPR class for years, but some how have never gotten around to it.  So my question to any paramedics out there is what kind of classes do I need to take to be a better prepared good Samaritan?  I'm not looking at becoming an EMT or anything, but here I was, in the shoes of first responder, and I'd like to be able to better fill those shoes next time.

I would say to contact your local ambulance service, at least here in BC we have the saint John's ambulance service which provides first aid training for emergency situations.

The most i had is a small guide to emergencies, but small things, like fractures, burns and such. It's quite helpfull still, but dunno where else to get further training.

Posting frequency has dropped, because I've been busy as hell.  Vehicle work, crazy bill collectors insisting I owe them money, ( I don't, honestly.)  tracking down a burglar, trying to finish up so many projects at once... not a lot of net time.  So no, I haven't abandoned you.  Just... neglecting maybe?  ;d

aw :( I'm right there with you L0g0s... been working 13 hour + days between training people and being trained with higher systems work myself and doing the jobs of two....

about ready to collapse.

On that note, I'll also be bringing my tired ass to Anime Expo this year during some of my off hours~

I'm with you.  Except for the training course I just went on, its been balls to the walls here at work and at home with "Bun" on the way.  My sister and brother in law along with their two small children have also been staying with us for the past two weeks in what was supposed to be an overnight stay, but the bloody volcano dust cloud has canned flights to New Zealand and they're still here 'till Sunday.

Oh well, at least I'm going away for a dirty weekend tomorrow (babymoon I think they call it), right back to the original honeymoon spot of 8 years ago.

I still remember working over 100 hours a week for around a year back when I first became a systems admin.  Bloody near killed me but got me into the position I'm in today and I do far less than that now-a-days.

Yeah, I hear ya Logos and Akashayi, and I'm reminded of a certain poster that people need on their walls in times such as this:

CLAN OF THE CATS IS MAKING A COMEBACK! JUNE 8th.  BE THERE!

Actually, the poster I have at work shows a screaming man running with his head on fire.
"Caution: Workers on FIAH!"

Yeh, I made that one myself.  I added a
"Caution, do not inhale fumes, no matter how good they smell."  as well.  Thank you portal for that idea.

I hate feeling old and overworked like this Odd, but it's bringing me to good places in life :) ./fistbump

On the other hand, when I wasn't working, I helped Brion sell maybe 2 and a half books at anime expo this year. Hahaha. A pity we forumites can't all meet up at places like ax.

Pozf was there too, lol.
