Flipside at Cons

I suppose now that con season is underway and all I thought I'ld post some Flipside sightings...  starting with Anime Boston this weekend.

Think he was using it as a spellbook?

Anyway - more pictures to come.

Plan to attend:
Connecticon
Otakon

Taking pictures of strangers at conventions is not creeping, it's a form of socializing.
Hi.
I've been out for two years, so warn me if I act like I missed something obvious. ^^;

...oh, and to anyone who missed me, I'm open to hugs, kisses, and intense tearful cuddles.

This. Hahaha.

Also, I'll likely be at both Anime Expo and Comic Con this year, if any of you sexy fans want to meet up and say hi ;P

Heh - true 'nuff - I meant that it wasn't a candid shot: he knew the picture was being taken.  I hate when people take candid pictures of cosplayers.  Let a guy get into character, you know?

So this is the Crest I did at AB - talked to Brion at the booth.

Reason I post this picture is because the wig I used *totally* failed me at the con.  Like, it looked like your grandmother applied hairspray in a windstorm.  'twas bad.  See below:

Sorry for the huge images.  I might do another character for Otakon?

Loved what Brion had to say about the convention.

"I don't really have much to say about the convention, nothing really that interesting happened. There was a girl who was going to dress up as Maytag but her costume fell apart or something, so I didn't get to see it. Maybe next time."

Uh, that's it? No "Thanks to everyone who came by our booth!"? Sigh.

Don't worry, he's probably grateful but more worried about his head than the costume :)

They have a parade for that in SanFran every year, I thought.

Awww, indifference is how Brion shows he cares :D

Also, Yahappynow, pleeeasseee bring Crest to Otakon for at least one day! I'll be there! I hope I will be sitting near Brion this time, as I requested to be, and we always end up soooo far away in the Artist Alley! But I'd love to get a pic with your Crest cosplay, yusss!

I mean, do I have to say that after every convention?  It would start to feel redundant, I think.  Can't we just assume that I appreciate it even if I don't say it?  Like an unwritten rule?  Anyway, I probably thanked you at the actual convention!

Aww! You've always been super nice at every con I've seen you at, Brion! I think only those who are there in person should get such thanks..! Make it a law.

Stockholm also has that parade, though only a fraction of the size...

Redundant would be thanking everyone who came by your booth by name, age, gender and home address. Six words that goes to everyone who came by is hardly redundant. And while I respect your intent on trying to not be redundant, appreciations are best when they're given, not assumed. Assumptions always leave a window of doubt.

If I was to assume anything from your website post where all you state is "nothing really that interesting happened" and that the drive was brutal, I would assume that you didn't have a good time and that those who came by your booth giving support aren't worth six words on your posts. We're supportive fans who love your work! Aren't we worth those six words even if it's redundant to you?  :)

Jeyl, I appreciate you coming out.  Really.  Don't obsess over which words I use in my news posts... I'm not putting a lot of thought into those, dude.

Heh, really don't worry about it - I'm not complaining. =) We spoke at the con and that was enough for me.  I didn't mean this thread to be a "why didn't I get a thank you" thread.  It was for people to talk about what cons they're going to.

So thank you Brion for making such a great comic and for driving to all these cons where we can see you. =D

It's been mentioned on other threads, but seeing as this thread is here, who else is going to Anime Central (besides me, Smiles and Sister Aluicious)?
