Well, for some reason I can't upload photos to myspace right now so I've uploaded this one from my NZ trip to some personal webspace I recently acquired.

Meet my new nephew!

CLAN OF THE CATS IS MAKING A COMEBACK! JUNE 8th.  BE THERE!

Smiles, then just wait until the land warrior concept systems start appearing... those will eventually include powered exoskeletons with head-up displays and all kinds of other fancy gadgets :P

EDIT: I think it's the shades and helmet gear (cam and NV?)

Don't worry, I have seen one of the early promotion videos for the land warrior concept system (It's even possible I stole it from my dad), I already know most of it. My dad was a liutenant colonel in the Swedish coastal artillery but worked in a local joint command centre (Army, Marine/Navy & Airforce branches staff gathered in one building) So he recived all kinds of cool concept promotion materials :P

Ahh, so you were the kind of guy who had to go out there and put plastic on our duds and blow them up safely :P

The shells we fired normally weren't the types we would fire in a live situation though. The live shells were either of four types depending on the firemission, smoke(white phosphor), illumination, high-explosive fragmentation or self-homing anti-tank shells :P

nice, we baked charges for the eod team that were doing the anual clearing of the exercise field... Even though it gave me a headache, I have to say I just LOVED the smell of plastic explosives! Sweet and deadly :P

What? it smelled a lot like honey! :P

And the reason we didn't get to fire the live shells that often was the cost, Smoke and illumination were used a couple of times, the HE once and the anti-tank once.
The wartime HE shell was pretty advanced, it had a zone fuse containing an option for time-delayed detonation, while the anti-tank shell was programmed prior to fiering and would use IR to home in on the target that most accurately matched a combat vehicle's heat signature and then detonating a shaped charge against the top armor.
