Not sure what the plan is but I'm pretty much presuming that these tribes are much like the plainfolk from the AMTRAK WARS.

Are we (the plainsfolk/human/tribal players) presuming to be from the same clan and bloodline to get the story started?

How many more players 'till we get rolling?

Ok.. to clear things up a little...

In general think Mongols for the warbands.

It's worth noting that most of my non-modern or post-modern RPs are slightly more inspired by history than novels. Or to be more exact plot-lines tend to be vaguely novel inspired, settings and peoples more historical.

As to getting it going. I'll kick it off in the next day or so, bit bogged down with work and such like today.

I'd suggest reading some from the old forums first that should give you a general clue.

But it's a bit like telling a story, you make a post describing what your character says or does and how he responds to things the rest of us do.

For example:

I could make a post saying that my character pokes yours with a stick.

You could then make a post saying that your character yells ow and gives mine an angry look.

Chag could then make a post saying her character tells mine off.

I could then make a post saying my character apologises



There is (usually) no set order people have to post in.

The two main RP rules to consider in any RP here (need that rules thread on here) are that:

  • You cant make two posts in a row.
  • You cant control someone elses character.

I just based mine off the plainfolk of the AMTRAK WARS for the sake of it, but when nightwraith put his character down as a 'plainfolk' I thought I might have accidentally stumbled on the basis for the world.

The basis for the AMTRAK plainsfolk were lowtech tribal races such as American Indians, Australian Aboriginals and African Zulu warriors.  They were a tribe formed after an apocolypse of the world so they caried names from what they called the old time such as 'Magnum Force', 'Cadillac', 'M'Call' and more funny references to today's tv shows, cities and companies which they held as words/names of power.  But if nightwraith is calling them Mongols then their technology is much further along with metal work, farming, bows and arrows, organised warfare and even fortifications.

Soooo.... for those of us starting as a tribal member, do we just want to presume we're all members of the same clan/tribe for the sake of skipping introductions?

Plains people was just a generic term I used for pretty much anyone living on the steppe.

Given the nature of things if you guys all want to be near each other at the beginning then you'd either need to be in teh same clan or in a town where two (or more) clans have come together to trade or negotiate. Either works for me, but does affect slightly how I start things off.

So, anything goes for me.
Just tell me the time of day and the season, and what sort of weather you expect for that season around where this thing starts. I'll join after you guys start off, so I know what I'm looking for.
I'm working on my character right now.

If you are, how did three of four end up mute anyways? O.o
Is it like a trend or something, to NOT talk...?

Well, I might make mine talk a little earlier than planned. I wasn't sure I would un-mute her, but since everyone else is, I guess I'll have to give Moosey some assistance with the talking.

Well, I did put 'mute' next to the Race segment.  But I'll change it to the full spelling rather than the abreviation for the sake of stopping all confusion.

Well, technicaly Jenii's in one clan "village" (remember they're nomadic - if I remembered to mention that in the intro - meaning lots of animals and lots of tents)

Or you could be a bit annoyed that Jenii's arrival has taken everyone attention from your epic speech and come over and see what the fuss is about...
