*Motor-head had been puzzled to find himself standing in the place of their camp but the camp was not there, nor the fire or the people.  Faint shimers of objects that almost seemed to be there could barely be noticed but had he dwelled on it longer they would have represented some of the longer standing structures in the camp.  He looked up to the night sky that he knew to be Motown's cloak, covering the world for rest, until her blazing heart would enter thought the Eastern door, bringing warmth and light for another day's tasks.

But suddenly a scream was heard, he almost felt himself ripped from the world by it but suddenly, the white gems in Motown's cloak over the sky begun to be blotted out and he felt something hold him there fast.  A great darkness rushed towards him from a far away place but he could not run from it.  Arms grabbed him and shook but he could not see them or answer their urgency to leave the darkness before it struck.  As the shadow of malevolence, now almost taking some alien and terrifying form, made it's final lunge across the plains for the camp Motor-Head reached for the knife at his side but instead found a hand.  He looked around to stare at it's owner and found his long dead love, Vandal-Hearts, returning his gaze.*

"Wake up my love" *she said and then he opened his eyes as Jenii kicked him in the ribs*

*He stumbled after her, still trying to get his senses, she spoke to a man near the fire who had been screaming.  Their conversation passed through his ears as his senses still reeled from the terrifying nightmare he had endured.  Then as the man before him reached for his sword, he felt reality return like he'd been struck with a bucket of cold water and snapped his hand to the large knife at his side.  But as he drew it, he noted the man had not drawn his weapon and appeared to be preparing for some other threat beyond them.  Looking around, Motorhead saw the darkness he'd felt in his own dream, gathering around them, blotting out the shining gems from Motown's night-sky cloak and even making the surrounding campsite and fire begin to fade as it closed about them*

Maniacal laughter, loud maniacal laughter. It rang out from somwhere in the darkness. It had started low but quickly grew to near bellowing. It sounded as if someone or, something was radically enjoying themself. Whoever was laughing was also moving around, at a very fast pace. The emanation of the voice would come from their left then off to the right, and even behind them.

Jeni saw it first, two glaring yellow eyes, piercing through the dark, just on the edge of the light. Then a voice, a sharp, dark voice spoke. All it said was, "Greetings"

Mórrígan stood atop the stone church, her hand placed against one of the many ornamental spires in order to steady herself against the stiff mountain wind that tugged and snapped at the rags she wore. From her vantage point, Mórrígan could see over the other establishments of the town and down the side of the mountain, far into the extended steppe of the south. Some distance into this steppe, spread out in a rough elliptical shape, tiny pinpricks of light gleamed. Campfires, hundreds of them. As her gaze lingered, they seemed to dim, then gradually extinguish. Mórrígan’s brow twitched in confusion as she noticed it formed a rough line, sweeping from the south and moving towards her.

Suddenly, the voices began to stir. Softly at first, but increasing in a cacophonous crescendo till they drowned out her own thoughts. This rapturous moan of a thousand voices was staggered with a single, frantically whispered word.
Morgoi
As she watched the campfires abate, Mórrígan’s lips parted slightly, her brilliantly white teeth showing as the corners of her mouth turned upwards into a sadistic grin.

It was the voice that shook Duncan it had sounded close by but at the same time it came from all around.
“What mannerrr of sorrrcerry is this? Wha daurr’s meddle wi us? Show Yerrr sel’ mun!” Duncan called out in the blackness that was now surrounding them getting more on edge .

This was definitely unknown territory for him.  He had left sorcery to  Brahan the village Seer and then he remembered that Nai had begun to develop some Seer skills after the Avalanche, Nai had begun to act strangely making everyone believe he had only suffered a severe blow to the head and had never fully recovered from it.

But this was different this was some dark power that Duncan had never come across since he was more used to fighting man and beast not some spirit.....

*Motor-head regained his composure and crouched into a fighter's stance next to Jenii.  If the Blessed Sky Mother, Motown, wished to drink his blood tonight, then he would gladly fill her cup, but he'd make sure it mixed with that of his aggressors before it came to that.  Magick was not unfamiliar to Motor-head as his own love, Vandal-Hearts, had been a summoner who held the 3rd ring of power to call upon other's minds, the wind and the Earth magick's of the almighty Talisman.

Two yellow eyes now peered at him through the gloom but seemed to stare at Jenii rather than himself or Duncan.  He tried to make out the details of their owner through the shadow, but instead he suddenly noticed that other dark figures we're beginning to rise and form within it,  Mounted on horses or more foul steeds.*

"I am Motor-head, Journeyman Bear Warrior from the clan D'isni, First of the clans amongst the Bloodline of the M'Woki.  If you mean us ill will, then leave for we are protected by Talisman and guided by MoTown! Else reveal yourselves and your purpose!"

The voice behind the yellow eyes only laughed at Motor-head. Then he vanished, but his voice still rang out from the darkness as did the sounds of combat. "You sure have a high opinion of yourself don't you motor-head..." Again the voice moved around with dizzying speed. "I don't have any 'Ill will' to any of you, but these things do..." Where ever he was one could hear something like blade through flesh, and then the scream of something dying in the darkness.

Whoever this man was behind the voice had started to kill whatever was there in the shadows. Perhaps with ease, as he still spoke with a the same tone as before. Until he was thrown from out of the darkness and into the fire light at Motor-head's feet.

A man draped in a solid black robe, with a mask to his nose sat there on his back rubbing his head seeming a bit miffed about being thrown down. His hands weren't really hands, more like gray skinned claws. Looking up at Moter-head the man only commented out, "I guess they don't like me."

Delphiki did some quick recon work on this newcomer.  He seemed to be human...or at least, something that was human, and had all the memories of one.  Yet he could feel a hunger that the zombie felt no need to suppress, yet at the same time, a disappointment at never being accepted as the man he was.  Delphiki saw an ally in him, since he too looked at humanity from an unusual perspective.  It also helped that he had no qualms about killing humans, and his appetite made hiding bodies considerably easier.  Making quick work, and thinking fast, he walked past Motor-Head, attempting to not roll his eyes when Motor-Head tried to block his way.  Knowing it was good intentions that made Motor-Head reach out, he simply ducked under, looked down and spoke aloud for the first time in months, and smiled for the first time in considerably longer.

"Hello, Richard."

Jenii's wail suddenly cut off at the arrival of someone new. She turned her head sideways as she studied him, the encroaching darkness all but forgotten.

"Jenii," she said finally sticking her hand out to him. "You are Richard? They don't like you, hate you, want you, but not now. You you you you you. You are dead, not alive, shouldn't be alive. But even the dead have fears. Tell me dead Richard what do you fear? Can you see their faces? Hearts beating, warm blood, pumping blood like yours once did. Running, running, run run run run run. We run, run now run to live."

She looked at the others "Run." she hissed, making shooing motions with her hands, "Run run run, run to live run from it. it comes, we run. Run run run."

With that she was off, running north dodging anything that got in the way, whilst she could hear panicked and scared people in the distance, off the the sides and ahead of her she did not see anyone else.

*Motor-head didn't know what to make of this new, pale visitor, or the young boy who greeted him. Jenii's initial greetings and conversation with this Richard didn't make much sense either, but then she said something that made VERY good sense... RUN.

He was only a step behind her, adopting the long gate of his people which could be kept up for days, even while sleeping if needed.  His blade remained drawn as he followed and when a dark, shadowy figure began to form up from the ground as Jenii passed over it, he quickly sliced it through the creature's neck as it begun to develop.  He felt is slice through something, semi-solid with both satisfaction and relief that whatever these abomination were, they could still be destroyed, but he did not stop or even miss a step to watch the creature grasp it's throat in it's dying throws, or the shadowy substance that surrounded it, begin to reform and receed to reveal what had once been a man.

Still matching Jenii's pace, he spotted a bow, lying on the ground, just beyond the grip of the dead man who had no doubt been carrying it moments before. He swung his hands down as he passed over, picking up the bow in one and a hand full of arrows from the quiver at the man's back.  He shouldered the bow and fumbled the 4 arrows into his animal-skin bag as he closed the short distance he'd created between Jenii and himself.  The girl appeared to propel herself forward with each step, as if her simple legs created much more thrust than they appeared capable of.  Fortunately running was a trademark of Motor-head's people and as a Bear warrior, he had no trouble catching up and keeping up with the punishing pace she set.

The shadows appeared to be much more dispersed now. Almost as though they were searching for them now, rather than launching an all out attack at a prey who's location they knew.  The fact that their exit Jenii was taking from the village would cause them to climb the mountain gave only a passing concern to Motor-head who knew the night would pass with even more of a chill at the higher altitudes.  He was already sweating from the fear and physical exertion he'd made to get this far but the last structure at the edge of the village, caught his eye and with a quick burst of speed to bring him by Jenii's side he pointed across her line of sight to a small stable.*

"I see three horses! They can aide our escape, and the others if they follow."

*he stole a look over his shouder to see if they did.*

Delphiki wasn't very surprised when Jenii bolted way, he'd observed enough from her that the seemingly random act didn't faze him.  But when Motor-Head, the seemingly brave warrior followed suit and bolted, something didn't seem right.  Perhaps Motor-Head simply trusted Jenii, whatever his reasons were.

Meanwhile, he looked back down at the undead friend he had just made, and realized that they were by themselves, as everyone had run off.  He walked a few steps away, and then telekinetically lifted Richard to his feet.  He turned to the reasonably surprised Richard, and said what obviously needed to be said.

"I rarely find a reason to speak, as I usually get my information through other means.  For example, the way I know who you are, Richard.  I know who you are, what you've done, and to a certain extent, who you once were.  And I don't care.  Survival makes people do crazy things, even if they've already died.  So just tell me this, and then ask one of the many questions swirling around in there, if you must.  What were you fighting out there?"

Richard simply brushed himself off after being so kindly lifted to his feet. "Thanks kid..." was all he said and without a moments hesitation leaped back into the shadows. The familiar sounds of battle and the screams of things dying rang out until once again Richard was thrown back into the firelight. "Thats starting to get kind of annoying." For a second time this undead man ran into the fray, fighting and killing whatever the shadows were. Just as the previous times Richard was thrown back, but this time he was holding something, a limb maybe, it looked like an arm, but was pure black, and oozing something.

Like it was the normal thing to do Richard just bit into what he had hold of and tore some free, swallowing it down. "Can't tell you what they are, but they taste good." was what Richard finally answered to Delpahiki. "Hey where are they going, all the fightings over here." Richard asked as he caught sight of Jenny and Motor-head.

Even as Delpahiki roamed around in Richard's head he could feel a darkness, a darkness so black it made whatever the shadow enveloping the camp bright by comparison, and it was stirring.

*Motor-head cursed as he found the others hadn't followed.  He knew there was something special about the girl Jenii, whome he now assisted into the saddle of a horse, but he felt the others were members of the destined individuals that Mission-impossible had told him to find, protect and keep together.  Whatever was attacking was not something he could protect them from, and fear gripped his heart. Not a fear of death, for if it was his time then the path was already written and he would gladly fill Motown's cup with his life's waters. No, this was a fear of failing in the task of uniting these people and ensuring that their wheel would turn down whatever path Motown had drawn for them, to ensure that the nightmare would finish and that he could join his love, Vandal-hearts, in the final high-grounds of his people.

Motor-head watched as the shadows thickened and the last hints of the stars to the south faded in the cursed darkness that continued to pour in*

"They have still not followed!  The evil grows stronger and will soon overwhelm them!  They are needed for the tasks ahead and the journey that you all share.

I must go back for them!

Ride up the mountain! I can see the fires of another village. I shall lead them to you there. If you have need, protect yourself with this."

*Motor-head handed her his sacred knife*

"Let Motown guide you and Talisman protect you!"

*Caught by surprise by Jenii’s warning, Duncan had been distracted due to  the sudden appearance from within the shadow and by the boy now moving towards “Him”, turning round he saw Jenii and Motor-Head running for some horses with Motor-Head managing to fight his way through the spectres, His own route now blocked by the nightmarish shadows Duncan headed off West through the village hoping to loop round and gain ground on his two new friends, even though he had little chance to tell them his own name yet.
After seeing Motor-Head kill one of them he knew now there was a fighting chance of getting through and meeting up with them again, Duncan drew his Claymore and Dirk from their scabbards, unbuckled his shield from his back making sure the leather straps were cinched tight on his left arm, with the Dirk fitting snug in his left hand ready to cut and slash his way through anything that got in his way.  The spectres looked more solid and human like now pouncing on any villager that they came across.
Duncan felt them all around him while he ducked and weaved between the buildings,

“May my fighting fore fathers and bruthers protect me and get me through another fight”

Duncan chanted.  Turning round a corner he came across a wolf hound cub being attacked by two of the spectres.  Before Duncan charged into them he heard a voice coming from nearby,

“You can crawl into a rabbit hole if you want since your fate has all ready been decided, come bruther and claim your place in the halls of Holle!”

It was the taunting voice from the first time he went into battle said by one of the older warrior sect, Duncan never managed to learn his name last he saw of him was charging into a group of a dozen of the opposing Clan his body was never recovered.  His doubts forgotten about he laid into the spectres by swinging his sword into the neck of one, the swing misjudged since the spectre turned at the last minute and causing the Claymore to get jammed into its spine, the other charged while Duncan struggled to free his sword, his sword forgotten about he swung with his left arm knocking the spectre and slashing it with the Dirk, reaching round he got his spear and charged the remaining spectre aiming for the stomach.  As Duncan charged it vanished leaving him bewildered as to what had happened, going back Duncan freed his sword and saw the pup still there.

“Well pup looks you need a new owner now”

Duncan ran off with the hound following him soon he had come to the Northern edge of the village and saw Motor-Head heading back towards it.

“HO THERE!”

He cried and waved towards Motor-head.

*Motor-head spied the kilted warrior waving him down and the fog that clouded the vast majority of his people's memories, cleared as he recalled the man as another likely soul, guided by MoTown towards some great destiny.  He quickly steered his horse and the second one he led towards him.*

"Warior! I have sent the girl by horse to a village further up the mountain.  This foe is too great for us to face.  We must get to safety ad join the girl.  Have you seen the boy and the pale faced man, Richard?"

Jenii watched Motor-head ride off back ito the village with her mouth open.

"No Motor-head," she called after him, "you can leave me come back.. Motor-head I'm scared. Jenii's scared, the shadow men come. Scared... scared scared scared."

But it was too late he had already passed out of hearing. Jenii began he low whine again, looking around nervously. After a miute had passed she finally decided he was not coming back and her whine cut off.

"Just you and me now." She told the horse, "We should go. That way..." she pointed, sat up straight and waited.

The horse did not move. Jenii frowned at the creature.

"Come on we need to go run run run."

Still nothing.

"RUN!!" Jenii yelled at it, then clapped her hands over her mouth. She glanced around for Motor-head but still couldnt see him. he wasnt coming back she decided, none of them were coming back, she would never see her friends again.

"I'm sorry," she said to the horse, "I didnt mean to shout at you. I'm Jenii and you are?" She grinned, "Nice to meet you, now can we go? it is coming we need to run."

She glanced around, then back at the horse, suddenly a thought came to her, clear as day, she knew how to ride. Sure enough in moments she had the horse in motion, it galloped out of the encampment with Jenii on it's back, her black hair streaming out behind her and her delighted scream piercing the night air.

She hadn't been riding more than ten minutes form the encampment when she caught sight of another rider heading her way, curious Jenii pulled the horse to a stop to see who would be riding toward the cursed place.

Kytalla rode up toward the figure who had stopped riding. In the distance behind her there were others, hopefully there would be no fighting. Her horse whined and put an extra burst of speed to reach the last hundred yards. Pulling up beside the girl Kytalla gracefully jumped off her horse.
"Greetings," she said, opening her palms in an honest and peaceful gesture. "I come seeking answers, and I hope you can help me?"

Drawing her sword she quickly put it on the ground, flat, with the handle towards Jenii. These were the things that she had been taught about in her tenure at the Holy Order.

Delphiki looked at Richard, and realized he looked at someone who had conquered death, so cooking food was hardly an issue for him.  His own hunger was a distant second to his curiosity, but he did not want to go back into Richard's mind.  He was not afraid, not by a long shot.  But he realized that to jump back in there would be like jumping into the ocean a mile offshore.  He escaped once, but he knew better than to try it again unprepared.  So he asked Richard the only sensible question.

"Whatever they were, this way of fighting them seems a bit counterproductive.  Also, I'd prefer to get the hell out of here before the big guy comes back.  He's in over his head, and I don't want him to slow me down.  Plus, that guy seems to want his arm back."

Delphiki calmly gestured to the shadow, merely waiting on the very edge of the darkness.  It was as close to the light as it could safely be, almost as if it was leaning on an invisible wall.  This thing clearly did not want to leave the darkness.

All of a sudden, it moved forward a meter, completely submerged in the deadly light, as if it was pushed...which in a way, it was.  It appeared in its true form for under a second, humanoid, but not quite human.  Three meters tall, with one long arm, it was the same shade of black.  The liquid that Delphiki recognized from its arm that Richard had just snacked on dripped out of where its eyes should have been.  But the light did not kill it.  The fear of light was completely in its head.

Before the creature itself could realize this, and inform the rest of his kind, Delphiki did the only thing he could think of.  He abandoned all discretion, and instantly, the creature fell, its head 10 meters from it, having been ripped straight off with enough force to drive a straw through steel.  The head was still intact, however, and Delphiki cautiously floated it off the ground, and held it in the air, close enough that he could stare into its eyes, which had turned completely white.  He took a deep breath, and went searching for any thoughts, any indication that he knew his surroundings, that he realized in the instance before he died that the light would not harm him.  But as soon as he looked into its eyes, he knew what it was, and what it meant.  That the nightmares could enter our world, and walk, breathe...

...and kill.

And as he continued to stare, he knew it was no use.  He heard nothing but that terrible silence that had become all too common.  For the first time in Delphiki's eleven long, lonely years, he knew fear...and regret.

"Jenii," Jenii said holding her hand out to the elf woman, but not dismounting.

"Answers? Always answers, all questions have answers, answers answers answers. Some have many answers, others just one. Who is Jenii? What is Jenii? She does not kow, used to know once, but memories gone. Were they important, yes, no, maybe. Answers questions. But ask ask, questions important. If answers I know, answers Jenii gives. But here not safe, come come, that way not safe, darkness waits.. We run... come come"

Richard sighed and shrugged once again getting to his feet. "Sure why not, but just let me get something to go, all this fighting is getting me a bit hungry." Just as all the other times Richard lunged at the figures that roamed within the darkness. This time however he was not thrown out but merely walked back, carrying a few of the creatures limbs in a small bag on his side. All the while still munching down on the arm he was already devouring. "Well I'm set, lets go then."

Looking up ahead Richard could just make out Motor-Head as well as another large warrior, those must be the others this kid was with, well if they want him to come along might as well, its not like he was doing anything important anyway. With a burst of speed not like any living thing Richard was off and running, to catch up with the others that had gone off.

Kytalla took the hand and shook, quickly retrieving her sword from the ground she skillfully, and gracefully leapt onto the back of her horse.
"Okay Jenii, we run," she said, kicking the sides of her horse. "But I will probably need to know what from, and where to. Can you tell me as we ride?"

"To. Somewhere safe." Jenii said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, nudging her horse into motion. "Safe safe safe. But from... Do you dream elf woman? Everyone dreams, Jenii dreams, you dream. Where it waits, waits waits waits. We run from darkness, those it has eaten, taken, changed. They eat the light, bring the darkness, shadows, fear. They hunt the screams..."

Jenii's horse stopped suddenly and Jenii pointed behind her, the camp seemed to have been consumed by a large writhing shadow.

"See, not safe."

She was about to start off again but then her head whipped around to look at the camp again, she began her whine.

"They're down there, Motor-head, Richard, the strange man in a dress, the kid... they're going to die, be scared, eaten, the shadow will take them, bad dreams."

He whine cut off and she looked back at the elf woman, "Too late, come we run."

With that she set off again.

Darkness. Everywhere darkness. And a pressing silence, suffocating all sound. This presence only grew stronger as the group of four males strayed in it. Dark figures of shadow surrounded them. Moving closer and closer.
Then a faint sound, seemingly in the distance, could be heard. Hooves. Galloping faster then you should think a horse could. Something drew closer.
Then abruptly darkness gave way to a sudden, blinding, silvery white light that spilled out over the four males.
In a heartbeat that seemed to stretch out into eternity, a white horse hovered out of the pressing darkness, white light surrounding it, making a trail behind it where darkness had fled away. And in that moment, in a flash of long blonde hair and purple folds, they could make out a young woman, little more than a girl, radiating with the light, lying almost flat over its back and neck, a small child safely clinging to her in front. In the moment of a heartbeat, and then gone, leaving only a temporary trail where it had been, where darkness had abruptly been pushed away.
Looking along the trail they could see the end of the dark cloud in the distance, and a figure on a horse, surrounded by light, moving fast past the figures of the two women, towards the mountains up front, before the trail slowly started closing, filling up with darkness once again.

----------------------

Pearl pressed her face in fear into her Mistress Opal’s gown, holding onto her as if to life itself, as they moved faster than Pearl had ever believed possible away from the darkness.
She felt relief mixed with the fear. Leaving the darkness felt like leaving her dark past. And maybe she was. But fear dominated. What if they followed? What if they caught them? They would kill them! There would be pain, endless pain, and darkness. Silence, muffling even their own screams.
She felt a warm, careful hand on her head, and looked up.

----------------------

Opal looked down at Pearl, the child was scared to death, and no wonder why. Stroking her head lovingly, she looked down into the elf’s eyes.
“It’s okay. It’s all okay,” she said reassuringly. “They can’t get us now. We are safe.” She smiled. “Sleep.”

----------------------

Pearl’s eyes filled with both grateful and relieved tears, that began flowing down her cheeks, and she curled even more up against Opal’s stomach, closed her eyes, and let the exhaustion take her away to sleep.

----------------------

It’s over, Opal thought looking back towards the great cloud of darkness. At least for now…

(OOC - I think this post is lame. If you got confused, then know that I did too. I'll give you a short summary of it if you got blinded by it's lameness: Opal and Pearl surrounded by light, galloped past Richard, Delphiki, Motor-Head, and Duncan, leaving a path between the darkness thingys, and continued past Jenii and Kytalla, further up, without noticing any of them for some reason and continued towards the mountains. I did the colouring so it's easier to understand who's point of view it's from, even though it should be clear. And it's pretty. Just mark it all up and it should be readable.)

*Motor-head loosed an arrow into a dark figure as it blocked their path to Richard and Delphiki then arrived at their side.  Duncan was weilding his sword in long arcs through the monsters that continuted to surround them and press them but the darkness followed and came closer. Motor-head put another arrow into the chest of a creature's mount as it entered the light but the creature and it's mount plumeted forward into the camp fire they were gathered around.  The fire gave off a quick blaze of sparks that seemed to cause the shadows to retract for a brief moment before the fire extinguished to some dying embers and with one fell swoop the darkness enveloped them all.

Motor-head heard one of the party's throaty cry and Richard's maniacal laughter as the tendrils of shadow surrounded their bodies, freezing them in place and the nightmare began to enter their mind. His own shouts joined the chorus as images of his every fear attacked his mind and body in something far more real than any dream, but in the few moments before the first of them was taken the shadows and their nightmare was suddenly wretched away in a screaming, hissing cry of rage as a brilliant, white horse carrying two riders pressed through the middle of them, spilling light from golden hair, violate gowns and the horses' blazing white mane.

They all stared after it in mild shock from their experience with the nightmare and the sudden shift to safety once again, but as Motor-head looked back across the path they had cut, he noticed the darkness closing back over their path*

Delphiki had heard Richard run away, but paid him almost no mind.  It was when he heard the others coming, that he dropped the head.  He walked over to the group, when they arrived, but if they were saying or thinking anything of importance, he paid it no mind.  After a few minutes, he felt their terror.  He also felt an invasion in his own mind.  He pushed it out quickly.  As they struggled, he realized that these people could serve him no further, and Richard had already betrayed him.  He felt no ill will towards Richard for this, but he new he could not use him now.

Saying nothing, he walked into the darkness.  As a gift to them, and to protect himself, he thought of the sun, and broadcasted that thought without prejudice.  It was temporary, but it seemed to startle the nightmares out of the others for a while, and should give them time to escape.

"Or not," he thought.  "It makes no difference.  If they are not safe within their own head, where are they safe?"

With that, he disappeared into the darkness, not caring what he found, for after alerting the nightmares to their lack of their main weakness, he no longer thought he deserved to live.

*Motor-head watched as the young boy walked into the enveloping darkness.  It parted for him then darted back around and Motor-head's vision of the lad was lost as any hope of the warrior reaching him vanished.  Spying the walls of the nightmare steadily closing into the cut path, he could wait no longer and without turning to see if Richard had mounted with Duncan, or if they would follow, he drove his horse hard up the path to catch up with the illuminating stallion and it's riders who travelled in the direction he'd left Jenii.*

Richard really didn't give much notice to the disappearance of Delphiki, he simply kept up his pace, maybe the venture with this group would prove at least entertaining. Fighting with the Morgoi wasn't very fun, too easy for Richard, plus they were so empty when it came to his hunger. He'd eat one and be starving an hour later.

Richard followed behind Motor-head, but not far behind, his own running was just about as fast as any horse, sometimes faster, if he needed it. Richard would catch up with the rest of them quickly, all the while still happily munching away on the stolen meat of his dead victims.

(OOC: When Motor-head arrives assume Richard will be there too)

"right lets get out of here while there is still time" said Duncan to Motor-Head as he placed his weapons back into their scabbards and prepared to mounted the horse.

* he noticed the pale faced lad known as Richard coming towards them at great speed munching on what looked like an arm.  Since Duncan was more used to foot slogging he had some trouble mounting the offered horse and by the time he had managed to get on he was almost on his own with his new wolf hound cub and cut off due to the gap clsoing.*

"Right ye beastie lets get going" and with that he spurred the horse on to follow the other two through the gap and towards the mountians tailed by the hound.

The gap caused by the sudden streak of light was closing fast behind Duncan as he rode through it.  Just as the end of the gap came close a spectre managed to grab hold of the tail of Duncan's horse. The horse suddenly slowed down giving out a whinny of pain and alarm, nearly throwing  Duncan off leaving the hound to run through towards the others on its own.  Quickly Duncan drew his Dirk from his right boot and cut off the end of the horse's tail leaving the grasping spectre with nothing more than a few horse hairs.
The horse now free from is captor moved forward unheeded just getting out before the hoard closed in around them.

Pattingthe horse's main,
"I shall not be feasting in the great halls of Holle this night thats for sure, now lets go and meet up with our new traveling companions and find out what goes on here."

Opal felt dizzy. She was really exhausted. As she calmed down a little, the light radiating from her started to fade a little.

She still felt taken aback after what had happened. She and Pearl had been peacefully sleeping in the tent they had set up for the night, after riding all day only stopping for meals. They had been travveling for a few days. Fortuneatly, she had suddenly awoken and gone out of the tent to get some fresh air, and she had seen them comming fast towards them. She had grabbed Pearl, and got up onto her horse, leaving the camp behind, riding as if their lives depended on it, and they probably did too.
They had been riding like that for what seemed like forever, but they had been faster. They had caught up with them.
Suddenly finding herself in complete darkness, unable to see anything, had made Opal panic slightly, but then she had suddenly lit up, the light keeping them on a distance, but they hadn't got out just like that.
But then they had stopped around what seemed like some kind of camp, although it was impossible to tell in the dark, and Opal and Pearl had finally gotten out.

Now she was exhausted, no wonder. She knew she couldn't stay concious for much longer, but they needed to find a safe place, somewhere they could not get to them before they had rested and could move on. But that would be near impossible to find so close.
She turned her head to look behind her, the dizziness strengthened. The last thing she saw before she fell, was people. People on horses. Maybe five of them. Who were they? She did not know, or care too much. They weren't them.
The horse still held a high speed. Frightened after all the darkness. She felt herself slide off it. She tightined her grip on Pearl, holding her protectively against herself, and made sure she fell on her back, taking the hit, protecting Pearl against the hard ground slamming into her back at an uncomfortably high speed.
She felt the light around her diminish completely as she slipped away from conciousness.

(OOC - I do hope you can help her. I really felt like posting something, and fainting is what I'm good at. 8) Anyways, it would only be natural.)
