I confess I'm 28.5 and I don't feel old yet.  I must confess that if I think about it and realise it, then I can notice that it's over a decade since I was at school (In fact, it's exactly a decade... I wonder if I missed the 10 year reunion).  And yet it still feels like I was in that school not all that long ago, with all those other kids *shrug*

I confess I almost bought Pride and Prejudice yesterday.................but it was the Zombie version.  Hated reading the Jane Austin version in high school and they almost had to tie me to the chair and put match sticks under my eye lids to get me to watch it.
What good is dreaming it if you don't actually do it?.

I played the demo, it was Extremely button mashy. Didn't care for it at all... though the graphics were nice and shiny.

And no, it's for the 360 and PS3 only *until it gets released for PC*

I confess I still do to, the PS3 doesn't take older memory cards unless you buy and adapter. I still use it as often as I use the Wii.

I confess that I'm finally back up to a healthy weight and condition again, after going from 209 pounds(95 kilos and in peak condition) to approximately 147 pounds(roughly 67 kilos and barely alive) between 2008 and 2009, and I no longer look like christian bale from the machinist when I take my shirt off. This makes me happy.

@Churba: Damn!  You have been through a rough year mate.

I confess I'm currently 81kg and should be closer to 70kg following my BMI, but I'm only at the top end of the healthy weight range for my height following the BMI.

I confess I need to put some strength back on as well.  I was kind of shocked a couple months back when I went to pull myself through a man hole and found I couldn't do it.  It was an awkward position but I can remember my high-school days with Martial Arts and body building when I'd have easily pulled through it with momentum to spare.  Time to pull out the weights and get the strength back up again... Or I could just start carrying a really heavy bag around like I did at school *lol* Damn I had big arms back then.

Seriously though, congrats mate.  Here's hoping we see you healthier and happier for the next decade and beyond.

P.S. I'm thinking of taking up martial arts again, any suggestions from people here on a good style to pick?  I've previously done the Tae Kwon Do variants and tai chi but I was thinking of Karate or maybe Jeet Kune Do... then again... Ninjutsu has gotta be full of awesomeness.

I confess that my boyfriend and I are on a diet that limits carbohydrates. This means that the only starch we have is beans and in turn we have been farting so much that I pity any living thing within a five mile radius. Gary says that we will get used to the beans. I hope so. I really really really really hope so.

Muay Thai.
Agreed.  Or if you want a probably more strenuous workout but with, in my only slightly educated opinion, more chance of getting hurt, Brazillian Jujitsu.  Also awesome: Aikido if you can find a good teacher.  Again, though, you're probably going to get hurt every now and then.

Tai Chi is for when you're old IMO.  Not that it's not great, but why not wait until you're old?  It's probably the best one to do when your body starts to get a bit worn down.

On a side note: Wow is this guy awesome.  It's very questionable how he would stand up to some of the premiere fighters in the UFC, but I love his style and that he actually makes a style of kung fu work in the UFC.  He's just a great and talented fighter though, I think that's why he can pull it off.

His discipline (Sanshou) also would be a great choice if you're into that kind of thing.

That all being said, I think Karate and Jeet Kune Do are also great choices.  I just personally would rather do Muay Thai right now if I had the time.

edit: I forgot.  If you're watching that match, it should be noted that Frank Shamrock's forearm fractured in the first round and broke in the second.  His right arm I think?  And he still gives Le a run for his money in the 3rd.  So, bottom line, Le probably can't really compete with the best mixed martial artists, even though I love watching him.

But seriously, he lands stuff that nobody lands, and with pretty good consistency.  He throws flashy stuff, but he's careful about when he throws it.  He also generally protects himself well.

I like jujitsu (sp?) because real fights tend to end up on the ground relatively quickly anyway.

Most styles seem to be good choices, depending on what kind of instruction you're getting, and how close to practical martial arts they are.

Boxing isn't very practical till you get to the point where you can cold cock someone. Because no one in real life fights by walking around in a circle and getting punched in the face for hours.

Boxing as a sport? Not practical, no. Because of rules, obviously.

But boxing technique can be applied practically in real situations. Same with any martial art vs. its sport incarnation.

Boxing Technique is "Punch the other guy till he stops punching you, while getting punched as little as possible. Make sure you don't punch like a wussy." Of course it can be applied practically.

Yes the "punching" part is very useful. That's why punching is in just about every martial art ever. But the "getting punched in the face for hours" part is not. I wouldn't want to fight with someone who can take that many hits and still keep coming. I just wouldn't want fight someone else with the intention of taking that many hits either.

I confess I find it somewhat amusing that every single thread has been completely derailed. Shouldn't you guys make a separate martial arts thread?
