Hugs are like handshakes. If you're gonna do it, you've gotta do it firmly, strong and with determination.

There's nothing worse like a "soft" handshake, like when someone gives you the hand but doesn't squish, so it feels like grabbing some piece of meat.

Is it weird i read my whole post and reminded me of sex?

no there is nothing worse when you want A high five and they barely tap your hand instead. If i dont feel impact it's not a high five; derp de derp.

See? That's exactly my point. Hugs/handshakes/high-fives must be STRONG, you have to feel them. If you don't feel them, then it's not worth it.

So go out there, hit and squish as hard as you can, later, people will appreciate it, even if they're hurt.

Too bad everytime i handshake with a friend now, it automatically becomes a strenght competition. Luckily, nobody wins and we just laugh as we pull out our crushed hands. XD

It is rather absurd how many people you shake hands with that don't actually do so firmly. I mean, it's not like the hand is so delicate that you can't use a bit of power...

I think if someone doesn't give you a firm handshake, they're not to be trusted. It's a sign of commitment after all.

Handshakes don't have to be firm. They can't be so loose, that there's virtually no grip, but they don't really need to be firm in my opinion. And of hugs, all I can say it that I'm reminded of this song:

But that means they're certain, that they know what they want. For me, first 2 things i notice in a new person is the strenght of the handshake, and where he/she looks while talking.

Soft handshake and looks away while talking? Forget it, i don't trust him/her.

A soft handshake could indicate they're less aggressive. Eye contact is something I would agree with you on, for the most part.

But what if the person is shy? That doesn't mean they shouldn't be trusted. An un-solid could mean they're just shy.

Shy doesn't work for me. In the end, being shy is something society built upon us. Just like nudity being wrong out in the street.

If people only invented clothing to get warm, and not use it to cover themselves, we nowadays would see a naked person on the street, and it wouldn't bother us.

I believe being shy is same thing, why being shy? It sucks to live with, makes it hard to relate with people and you don't dare to do everything, in the end, it just denies you a part of what life is.

But i guess that's just me.

I would disagree. Quite entirely. Shyness is something society has no influence over. It's like sexuality. You don't choose to be straight or gay. You just are, and society's opinion of it really has no say in the matter. Some things might force it upon you, but shyness isn't a social construct, like modesty.

I guess it has. And as being a (mostly) former shy person, I can wholeheartedly agree with the statement that being shy sucks.
