With beard... currently trimmed relatively neatly.

Mrs is going through the woes of a baby who doesn't want her mummy out of sight.  Although she's starting to get past that phase a bit now.

Evelyn is nearly 10 months old, has taken two unassisted steps and can say a number of small words.

Its fascinating to see all the small things she works out.  Start by picking up objects and simply putting them in the mouth, then see what happens when you shake them, test what happens if you bang them on the floor and finally try picking up two objects and baning them together.  More recent developments are a word association and action in clapping.  I say clap and she claps.  For ages she would take a toy out of the box or something from somewhere, play with it or look at it and drop it right there.  Recently she's begun experimenting with putting the object back, starting with the pens I keep in my pocket which she's decided to try putting back instead of dropping and many other things.  She'll give you an object she has if you hold your hand out and take it from you if you offer it.

One bad habbit she picked up from visiting cousins is dropping food off the side of the feeding chair.  She simply picks it up, puts her hand sideways and immediately drops over the side.  With her cousins it was a bit of a game but she doesn't seem to take any joy in doing it, she just does it as though it's the proper thing to do... Not sure how to get her out of that one.

She's in the top percentile for both height and weight at her age.  Around 80cm long and 10kg.  include the relatively early crawling and near walking and she can easily be mistaken for an older child.  I'll have to find photos and post 'em.

I think the greater significance of Grant's statement is that Bern thought he was seriously teaching/training her and has built much of her life, views and dreams around Grant's lessons.  But Grant has just informed her that it was only a game as far as he was concerned and he did not intend for her to take the lessons seriously into adult-hood.  Quite possibly, he even held the same views against female knights at the time but Bern believed he seriously gave her the hope and goal to overcome that and one-day join the knights.

I always thought that Grant was supposed to have the same streak of white hair which is why Orransong spoke of the resemblance between the two here: http://flipside.keenspot.com/comic.php?i=394

AHHH! Now I recall, it was a response from Brion to a question I made about it.  guess he's changed his mind since *shrug*.  There still seems to be a certain level of resemblance in build and hair structure.

*Crawls in*

G'day all.  I've been missing you all, I assure you.

Life in general has just been busy... and still is... but what the heck, I've got to make time for personal indulgence.

I'M BACK BABY!

I'd put it down to the holidays.  Probably see more people start to crawl back in like me after another week or two.  There was the Christmas break in Flipside and its been on about Maytag's past for a while, so likely to pick up now.

EDIT: *sigh* except for Selan  :(

@Churba:  :(  Sorry to hear that mate.  Always crap when people pull shit like that. I see the post is dated back to the 2nd of August, so I hope all is going much better now.

Sorry I've been away people, but there's an addition in my life which is eating up a lot of time... Yep... Super Smash Bros Brawl.

But beyond going through the usual parenting things, the only new event is that I picked up a stray dog that was wondering the streets the other day.  Some Staffy cross Cattle dog I think.  Couldn't hold him for the pound as he's a little hyperactive and we don't want that with out little girl around, but if the pound come back to me that they couldn't find his owners or a home, I'll probably foster him until a family can be found.

Until then, I've put up a "found" notice in various local websites and am checking the "lost" notices on those websites daily.

Well... I think page 23 was just before the pause, so maybe in intended that she had taken it off after getting home but forgot after the break... thats my theory anyway. *LOL*

But you've done really well with heaps of other stuff.  You kept Crest and Suspiria's dinner table plates consistent, plenty of other clothing and scenery, etc.

...Now would be a bad time to mention Polly's/Blackbird's earings, wouldn't it. :-\

Seriously though, you're only having a really bad day if you mistakenly draw Inverness with her old hairstyle again. ;)

Good luck with the fixes.  I guess this is book 6 done and finished once you've got 'em done.  Grats!

I generally spend my days naked about the house.  Been a bit cold for it lately though so all day today I wore my brown dressing gown and nothing else.

Cheers, I'll have to catch her and the band again when they've got another gig... if the Mrs. will let me outa the house *lol*

Little Evie is getting some big sleeps through the night now.  We change her and feed her a bit more and make sure there's as little light and stimulation as possible so she simply drifts back off for a good time.  I'm also opening the curtain and blinds during the day so she gets accustomed to night and day to know when she should sleep longer or shorter and stay awake longer.

My father came to visit me and showed me an invaluable way to settle a baby.  He took her in his arms and pretty much did a dance, like the modern jive or something, around the room.  She settled almost instantly and remained settled.  Forget the basic rocking, dance! *lol*

Some new photographs from the same professional who did our "bump" photos, Carly Webber

Chapter 30, Page 23. Polly's collar is gone but returns in the subsequent pages.

Chapter 30, Page 26. Pollly's gloves disappear in this and the subsequent pages.  However time passed between page 25 and 26, so she may have simply removed them in the drinking.

Yeah, Polly is intoxicated and might say a few things she doesn't intend, but Bern is still sobre... I wonder if there is some magic behind her resistance to alcohol... Maybe some spell was cast on her when she was young and that explains her hatred for sorcerers beyond her devotion to become a knight like her father.

It'll be interesting to see how Polly deals with the news of Clairen's death.  This whole thing is a minefield for information and the like.  She slept with Clairen, knowing she was Bern's girlfriend and now she finds out about Clairen's reunion with Bern and her death... Maybe the Enforcers know something about this Thin Man which Polly will reveal.
