I agree. But I think Brion's made the right call to exclude the speach bubble in favour of a caption.  I gues, if he wanted, he could have "YOU ARE ALL" at the top and "MY FOOD" at the bottom but I think either all would work.

HA! I think I just realised that my favorite Mary pose is the same as my favorite Maytag pose, turned from a back view and holding a weapon:

EDIT: I guess he could put Mary's left hand in the same position as Maytag's right hand, but holding a partly eaten human limb. *shrug*

True, Brion is known to forget them at times *lol*. But I'm not trying to Suggest she's put them in her duffle bag. Just that the diffle bag doesn't appear to be in the compartment so it's probably in whatever storage area they're keeping the swords and other supplies such as inside the roof, under seats or that area Glyph is riding on.

*meh* Well see soon enough what Bern's about to pull.  Heck, she may simply ask to be let out, which could be troublesome if they're anywhere near Bloody Mary. (I know Mary's sworn to eat the bad humans, but I wonder where that might leave her grudge with Bern *shrug*)

Well, I don't see them.  I'm not saying she hasn't brought them. They're probably on top or in some storage compartment somewhere on the carriage.  I just don't think she has them IN the carriage WITH her. (She also has that great big Duffle bag you might remember and Crest had a bag as well I think.

I don't think Bern has her blade with her either, but I agree she'll still kick Suspira's arse (or at least I hope she gives her a good slap on the face.

BTW. Is there Custard to go with that jellow or Choc Pud?

Pic1: OVER SHOULDER
Pic2: BELOW EYES EVIL GRIN
Pic3: FULL BACK WITH SCYTHE
Pic4: SHAKING/POINTING FINGER
Pic5: FRONT ON (Leonardo's 'man' style)

PREFERENCE:
Pic3: just love the scythe and the torn clothes, with an over the shoulder look
Pic2: love this evil and knowing smile that avoids the eyes but we miss the scary claws
Pic5: Just a classic good look at whats wanting to eat you but maybe a bit boring with no pose
Pic4: Doesn't look that threatening but maybe more detail in the final of the face will sell it.
Pic1: Just looks annoyed rather than threatening and evil.

POSSIBLE SUGGESTIONS:
crouched down in her cave, surrounded by bones/body parts
    Looking over the city as
here (might need to be too detaled for a shirt)
An evil grinning (with fangs) front portrait look from under her cowl[/list]

Overall, of the 5 shown, I think Pic3 really hits it though.  That whole body look with all the scars, the scythe the fangs and yet almost aluring with her full figure.  It's just full WIN for me.

Nope, no problems and thanks for putting that trust in me.  As before, I'm already a MOD for the Shadowgirls RPG forum area... Which I'm actually not doing a lot of RPGing in now-a-days, but I still manage it (lots more work because its quite structured and needs a lot of upkeep from myself beyond just enforcing the rules.)

Actually the RP forums will probably be the most work around here.  Brion makes the rules for the other areas and generally we just have to watch out for spam.  Obviously there's the abusive user posts as well but they're fairly rare and you gotta be picky and careful with them too (After all, these are Flipside's fans and some of Brion's bread and butter).  As always, the difficulty of striking the balance between allowing freedom while not allowing a poster to drive off fans and not being so strict as to drive them off yourself.

I think that freedom of the RPG area, Games Hall, Debate Room and Free Talk area are what makes the Flipside Forums so popular as they are.  Seriously Brion, you got a great forum running here.

And once again, thanks for the trust you're putting in me.

You're right sorry. Maytag's Playhouse is all those areas, NOT Flipside Discussion.

THAT LEAVES US WITH:

Flipside Discussion: UmberIsSexy, Xshu, Charles
Free Talk: Admiral Apocolypto
Hall of Games: Admiral Apocolypto
Pop Culture: Admiral Apocolypto
Artists Den: Deatzh, Admiral Apocolypto
The Debate Room: Charles
RP World: Charles, NightWraith
OOC Talk: Charles, NightWraith
UNSPECIFIED: UmberIsSexy, Pozf, LordKat, Charles
lordkat's Brain: LordKat

And heck, I threw my hat in Flipside Discussion and UNSPECIFIED as well *shrug*

EDIT: Missed NightWraith's bid on end of the last page for the RPG areas.

I'm already doing the RPG area for Shadowgirls so *shrug*

And/Or I can watch out for spam everywhere else.

...and I promise not to derail a chapter thread again  :-X

EDIT: I'll take the risk of putting my hand up for the debate/politics area as well... That should be interesting *lol*

Yes, we call Australia 'Down Under' as well as 'The Great South Land'.  Yes I can take you around. I live in Brisbane, Queensland.  Personally I think it's one of the best places to visit for tourists.  We've got the sun and surf nearby as well as most of the ammusement parks and Australia Zoo (Steve Irwin's own).  Sydney has the Harbour Bridge and Opera house but it's probably better known for the history sites and museums if you like that sort of tourist experience.

Brisbane is known to many Australias as BrisVegas (although I think California probably has a lot more in common for comparison)

Dear Crest,

Just what did you mean by "Well, When they eventually do split up I'll be there to pick up the pieces, Maytag." which you said at the campfire?

look left and right, or sideways at someone <.<

Damper is simple but it tastes bloody beautiful.  I'm not sure exactly why but it acutally has a lot of flavour and it's somehow both soft and almost creamy.

Great stuff.

@AApo: Yep, we eat roos. They're not an endangered species, their VERY common and they're farmed in places.  They are very resistant to drought, have less weight spread across wider feet (so they don't trample the ground as easily) and they breed REALLY fast (can have one outside the pouch, one in the pouch and one waiting to be born).  They also nibble just the green tips of grass rather than rip up the whole clump like a cow, thus allowing it to grow back much quicker.

The reasons they're not commonly farmed are: 1 you need a bloody big/good fence to keep 'em in. 2 They heard together but unlike cattle and sheep, they scatter when threatened rather than stick together for an easy muster. 3 unlike the word steak or mutton, people think instantly of a cute kangaroo when they hear they're eating roo.

1. Suspira is out of essence
2. Bern just stood up in a moving carriage

I'd say she's going to kick her arse but *shrug*

I guess the other thing is all Bern knows is that Maytag cheated on her.  She doesn't know how much or anything like that... Unless the relief is at finally hearing a truth she's known all along.

I'm hoping we hear the reason behind her relief but I guess she has no reason to divulge the truth now the spell is gone.

Why? What posts would you delete if you could?

looks fine to me *shrug*

Even this one looks alright

I must agree that I still feel like Bern has a few secrets of her own though.  Sometimes, I think people also believe what they want to.  It could be that Bern had inklings as to Maytag's fidelity but unwittingly ignored them in favour of the idealistic, Mary Sue, image she'd formed of her.  I was wondering if Suspira was going to continue the inquest but that last panel looks like she's dropped the spell.

Any idea why EVERYONE is sweating so much?  I can understand Maytag and Bern, maybe even Crest, but whats up with Suspira... Unless it's the effort of casting the lvl 3 nagelring spell *shrug*.

Never had Dingo, but I guess it'd taste much like a dog.  Kangaroo is an excellent feed but personally I think damper would rate as my favorite.  Other common Aussie tucker includes Lamingtons and Pavlova, although other foods such as Meat Pies are often though of as typical Aussie feed.

Thats 'cos Akashayi's super cute  ::)

The one thing that leads me to think that Bern doesn't know is her conversation 'round the camp fire where she praises Maytag for her honesty and open opinions.  Considering Bern was willing to lie to the knights, give up her dream of becoming one and even die rather than live without Maytag, it'll be interesting to see how she reacts to the Maytag falling from the high pinacle she's placed her on.

THE AMTRAK WARS by Patrick Tilley
Series of 6 Sci/fi novels

Just finished the Amtrak Wars by Patrick Tilley.

Now the first thing anyone who's read that series to the end will tell you is that the ending sucked... And I've just done the same.  Without getting into details, it felt like the Author got to page 400 and suddenly realised he needed to end the book.  Funny thing is I had no problem with the fate of some of the characters or the Epilogue it's self, (actually I loved it) just the last 3-4 chapters before it which seemed to take the remaining loose ends and either write them off as never having been anything important or tie them up abruptly in contrast to the rest of the series.  Beyond that, there are a few facts that seem to contradict each other along the way, but ultimately I found I could shrug them off in favour of the epic tale that was told.

As a Series, The Amtrak Wars were LEGENDARY! The idea is a post apololyptic United States of America in the 30th century as the radiation from a war in 2015 has finally begun to subside.  A civilisation, known as the Amtrak federation, has spawned underground from those who survived the war in shelters and they have finally surfaced to take back the blue-sky world from the mutants (mutes) who have survived and resisted the radiation to become a tribal race with close links to nature and the earth.  A member of the Federation is captured by the mutes and slowly begins to uncover the truths behind his underground race and the destiny of all in the mute's sacred Talisman Prophecy that fortells the destiny of them all.

The world Patrick creates is amazing and detailed to the point that I could easily imagine a vast number of off-shoot novels and an entire RPG world that could have spawned from it.  Politics and intrigue support a tale of might, magick and technology of varying degrees as a number of characters question their fundamental beliefs and very being as they unravel a web of myth, fiction and lies that they have built their lives upon.  One character in particular leaves us spellbound as we are left constantly uncertain as to his loyalties and certianly the character never quite seems certain themselves right up until the end of the entire series.

Yeah, I can work on making a new skin with a different header image.

Yeah, the reason I am using 1.1.4 is because I set this forum up over a year ago... I guess I should upgrade it, but not exactly sure how.
Was that back when you thought Sonika had gone MIA?

The purpose of the thread is for points of conversation that don't really belong in any other thread and/or don't warrant a thread unto themselves.

For instance, I might mention that I'm having some computer trouble just to be friendly and let my fellow forumites know or some such garbage.  No need to clog the lists of topics with a new one.

It works for minor chats and comments, etc.

On the Shadowgirls forum, I created a "The Last Post Wins" thread for all that simple talk.

There's a lot of settings you can set in your profile to give some of it back. Such as the quick reply box at the bottom of threads.

I guess Brion will still be setting up a few defaults around the place but considering this is a free hosted setup, it's unlikely he'll have the same level of control to create custom layouts and the like, as he wishes.

Heck, are you happy with the layout of the areas?

This is a chance to start our fresh and cut out certain areas or include new ones if you want.

Not that I can think of a different layout, just mentioning it.
