Damn.  We all need to be more sociable.  I've been caught up in so much crap I haven't talked to more than maybe 10 people TOTAL in the past.... I dunnoh, 1.5 years or so?  (I have a small world.)

I haven't been online for awhile, and had to do a marathon catch up.

Dark cell.... interesting, both as a deterrent mechanism itself, and....   what lies beyond it?

I've pretty much given up TV as a time waster, but I came back for Justified.

My video games are pretty sparse lately too.

Random insert.  It's important when painting, to keep your turpentine, and your gin & tonic in cups that look VERY different.

See, told you Bern had the answer.  She and I work pretty similarly.  I believe there's a difference between legal and right.  And hence, illegal and wrong.  If I do something that I don't think was wrong, well, screw what anybody else things.  But if I do something wrong and know it, I don't back out.  Bern knew she needed to save her father, but also knew that what she was doing was ultimately wrong in regards to those other people.  So she stepped up to take her punishment.  We'll see how the whole Polly situation plays out.

Modified the welder cart to fit the new plasma cutter as well.  (AWESOME.)  And replaced the leaky compressor regulator I've been putting up with in the shop for months. And did a lot of shop clean up/organizing.  A clean shop is soooo nice.

Once again I say, if violence isn't solving your problem, you're just not using enough of it.   DO IT BERN! DO IT!

I can't help egging people on.

Just because something is illegal, doesn't mean it wouldn't work.  She'd just get into trouble for it afterwards.  :P
The Mafia seems to still be working alright after all.

Though I don't resort to it myself all that much, there is a simple rule in life.

Bernadette is a super law abiding type, I admit, but let's face it.  With a long lost father in the offering, I could totally se her going all badass on someone.  HOWEVER, I think Brion will come up with a less... overly simplistic approach than mine.  ( I have been known to utilize sledge hammers to work on... almost anything)

A political piece I once read basically outlined that all laws came down to property laws, and that the one true crime was theft.  Murder = Theft of life, Etc. etc. etc.

Okay, she just needs to start smacking in some heads then.  It's an elegantly simple solution for many of life's problems.

STAB THEM BERNADETTE!  DO IT! DO IT!

She should offer them their continued living as payment.  But then, if I remember correctly, isn't anything SHORT of violence okay down in the southern continent where she's at?

Damn, it's a busy world out there.  And a slow one in here. Last post was in August?  I'm in the middle of remembering why once upon a time I worked three jobs.  And swore I would never do it again.  And trying to figure out a way out of it.

Also, I'm apparently doing one of those zombie run thingies mentioned above in two weeks.   Here's hoping that I can still outrun my buddy that I'm going with.  He's my zombie bait.

I have not been faithfully posting.  So missed a couple books.  Right now, "The Founding of Metals"
late 1800's treatise on foundry design and works.

I'm on a bit of a technical kick lately.

Helped a buddy score a nice tool find.  $475(u.s) horizontal metal band saw for just $40.

The key to a successful negotiation strategy is to be polite, be punctual, be persuasive, be persistent and annoy the PISS out of the person you're tying to buy from so that they just give in to get rid of you.

What are you doing with the ingots?
I simply melted down random scrap into ingots that are sized to go back into the cuppola.  The point being that every time you melt/pour metal, it tends to become a little bit purer. (If you do it right)   Also, it makes it easier to store.
So in future, I know that when I add an ingot to the foundry, every ingot of Aliminium I add will be about 1lb.  Plus a small pile of ingots look more impressive sitting on a shelf than a barrel in the side yard full of scrap  :)

Today, I modified the burner to hopefully be more efficient!  Don't know if I'll get around to testing that this weekend or not though.

I know of some people who've done that bet.  I'm weird, because I could pretty easily win that one I think.

Not currently wearing but just took off a pair of canvas pants, some hiking boots, a -t-shirt, a long sleeve cotton shirt, a leather apron, and pair of elbow length insulated welding gloves, and a welding helmet.

Fired up the foundry for the first test run today.  Ended up going beyond testing to full on production of Aluminium Ingots and even dared to go into Brass territory.

Lesson learned, I build flame throwers way more badass than other people.  Which means I need to start building crucibles that are way more bad ass.  2200 F flames + crucible rated 1800 F ish = some cracking.

Foghorn!   :)

Emp:  Do I know how?  Technically yes, I've been told, and have read about it.  Can I?  Probably not.  I've never tried, and the expense involved means I likely won't be trying anytime soon.  I'm currently outfitting my shop to expand from working with just plain steel to aluminium, cast iron, and brass/bronze.    Currently Stainless, Nickel, Inconel, and Titanium are exotics that I can't do much with.

Okay, finally broke down and have a picture of self to upload.  I'm a solitary person, I don't usually post any pictures of myself online.

Saw smiles post and started hummin' the anthem :)

"I mean, venting dirty combustion gas into the chamber and upper receiver? Whose genius fuckin' idea was that?!'- Churba

Eugne Stoner!  :D  Yeah, I know, you probably knew that already.  Don't get me wrong, I too think it's a stupid idea to be blowing crap back into the action.  And I hate the gas leaking back through the charging handle area into my face too.  But the design works as long as you're not using really dirty powder, like the bureaucrats forced them to do back in the day.  And technically it's slightly more accurate than a piston.  But you know what?  Piston guns are running at accuracy levels barely below that of the dang gas block models, So I agree with you, I'd rather have a piston. They run cooler than the gas version too.  I just don't think it's as bad as some people make it out to be.  But unless you've got me trying to build a precision match model for 1,000 yard shots, I see no reason NOT to have it be a piston gun.

Messy

I don't know why, but it still amazes me sometimes the photos that you can find from Wikipedia.

Ahem, anyway.  I'm kind of against getting any piercings in general for myself, because I've managed to give myself so many by accident, that I'm sure if I had an intentional one, I'd probably unintentionally remove it in very short order.

But, from a friend who both his wife and he got genital piercings, they both gave up on them after a few months (after healing.)  I didn't ask his wife her opinion, though she probably wouldn't mind. (We're all pretty close after all) But my buddy said they both liked them, except there was the constant preoccupation with the sensation that it might be pulled out at any moment while they were *in* the moment.  :)

And as obligatory, I'm wearing my nasty, filthy jeans, and a gray t-shirt that's supposed to be white, and about a 1/4 inch of welding slag all over.  :)

Okay, so I don't have a picture to add.  Shame on me.  But I have to add two, maybe three comments here.
First off: Akayashi just jumped in the sexy ranks with the rifle post.  :P
Second: Churba, nice quality photos!

And I guess thirdly.  Add one to the fire arm peoples pool.  Modern AR-15/M-16's don't really deserve the bad rep they've got.   Not my favorite rifles generally speaking, but I do have one.  They have their uses.

I took apart a satellite dish, a lawnmower, a ping pong table, and a home furnace and put them back together to make a foundry!  Metal casting here we come.

Rainbow hair above for the win!  Some people just colour their hair WRONG.  Some people do it right.

I'm just down to jeans and grease for the night, because I'm getting ready to wash up and head to bed after this.  (Greasy because I've been working on a flame thrower.  AWESOME.  Okay, it's a little one, but still, there is fun to be had.)

But, I'm feeling better lately and feel like dumping tons and tons of pictures upon ye denizens.

First off.  Three ladies of the recent TV shows I've seen to demonstrate a point.

http://img.poptower.com/pic-9376/salli-richardson.jpg?d=1024
Salli Richardon, still photos don't do her justice to be honest.  Most photos I found on line aren't that good.  Plays on Eureka.  I have to add, she has incredible freaking abs.  (I like those.)
(Dislike her character though.)

JO!  Also from Eureka.

Claudia Donovan/Allison Scagliotti.  At least as the character she portrays, awesome personality and attitude.

And now of course, I've probably posted these before, but I can't remember, the one I have worshiped for awhile.

Milla.  Most of her fashion shoot photos are just junk though.  Why they do such strange things to such a simply attractive woman is beyond me.  Her best shots?  Are from movies like Resident Evil.

Who do I like the most from the above list?  Jo.  Personality rocks.  Claudia is a very close second.
