May's hardly a saint.  I remember Crest calling her on one of her affairs where she was all like "no big deal."

Maybe saint was a poor choice of words...but given her beliefs (and also her conviction to live by her beliefs, to walk her talk), she is...honorable? in her own way, though not exactly in the conventional way.  She treats people fairly, mostly without judgement, and doesn't hold any double standards, no matter what others may do to try to harm her or what (possibly unfair) standards others hold her to.  I also believe she also genuinely respects and honors all people equally.  It's not an easy position to stand in.

Edit: By the way nice twist Brion...did anyone else think that Bern had slept with Polly in the jail cell?  I just remember thinking it would have been almost impossible for anyone, even Bern, to resist the urge, given how long they were locked up together.

Like YEAH!!! Who could resist all that sweet-polly pure-goth in a jail cell!  Even without the chains and whips... lol!

Yeah exactly haha!  Myself, I would be seriously distraught and uncomfortable almost every minute.  Even not having any time alone would drive me nuts though...

Now here I find it hard not to feel bad for May.  She is forgiving and accepting, but Bern isn't, so she could never have the open relationship her heart desired...but now Bernadette has "cheated", as she would define it, and Maytag is completely accepting, because she knows that this is a natural human thing, and doesn't reflect on Bern's love for her.

UUURRRGGG!!!

But, I'm sure Maytag would say that she chose her present situation willingly, and doesn't blame Bern in the least.

What a saint!!!

I see "wall-flower" on Crest's shoulder... what about Suspiria?!?  SHE's the one who REALLY needs him!

You know, to be honest, I think what Suspiria needs more than anything is to do a little soul-searching on her own.  If Crest is keeping his distance a bit, that's probably wise and honorable.  Suspiria is not in the right emotional space to start a healthy relationship, and I think it'd be difficult for Crest to be any closer to her and still maintain "just friends" status.  A relationship with Suspiria seems WAY dangerous (ridiculously so due to all her power) and also emotionally exhausting right now.  Even trying to support her emotionally or protect her could end up being tricky.

But, we'll see, I guess.  Anyway, due to recent revelations, Suspiria has become a much more interesting character now, assuming she can escape from being a statue..  I think the Phalanx will want to do something to control her, however, or curb her power somehow.  It's interesting that Melter would just hand her over to Crest's keeping, unless he's sure she's really just a statue now.

Although an earlier arc DID say Mary dies tragically at some point. Maybe she dies saving the rest?

Oh. Who said that and when? Did you mean someone in an earlier arc predicted the future or did Brion disclose it during an arc discussion?

It was RIGHT after the end of the Mary eating May's arm arc.

They mentioned Mary settled somewhere for awhile, and then said something like that. But I can't seem to find it...

Was that an extra side story that was only up for awhile, and after that only available in the physical paper book?

Well she was reacting to someone's death, which she blamed on Suspiria, so it's understandable that she got emotional.  However, I agree with everything you said about the Phalanx members.  They're more like teen titans go than a well-trained magical swat team.  Kin did also seem pretty disciplined I suppose, in addition to Qtalda.

The more I look at them, everybody's faces, including Crest's, look more surprised than horrified...which is probably good news.

Oh plus Moby said "What??" instead of "NOOOO!"  Actually, now I realize it's kind of obvious that everyone's reacting to something surprising rather than something bad.  I think I'm just pointing out the obvious.

So true, I was sort of talking about that with a friend last night, although it was about technology.  He seemed to think we should all band together and protest the development of technology, as if it could be stopped.  He referred to the movie "Wall-E" as an example of the imminent doom of humanity.

Brion, welcome back from vacation, sounds like you had a good time.  Thanks for the Japan Trip comics!!  Stay away from ferrets and ferret cafes!  Stay primarily in Cosplay cafes.

On second thought, in Japan, I guess it's all in Japanese...

Such a great country to visit in my limited experience.  I don't know where you're going exactly, but Halloween is sure to be fun (and sexy as hell...)  Last year I went to Universal Studios in Osaka and they had zombies storm the whole park after dark, with swat teams battling them and everything...plus around half the park customers were in costume.  Never seen so many sexy-looking moms.  But just the subway alone was full of young girls in super skimpy but also stylish costumes.  (Well, the guys also had great costumes too!!!)

Okay, went back and reread, she was the one who was subconsciously controlled by Suspiria to kill herself...it was off-camera right?  I think it would have been better if it had more of a moment dedicated to it.  I can't even put a face to the name.  It's been a little hard to keep track of what's going on lately.  However, part of that is the slow speed of reading updates as they drop.

Hey Keaoden!!

Thanks for the pic, my goodness you look beautiful...

I still come on and look every now and then, usually when the comic is at an especially interesting moment.  I don't sit in front of a computer for work anymore, so I don't have lots of free time to surf the Internet.  (More accurately I should say that I don't check the forum 1000 times a day to procrastinate and avoid work)  Usually watch youtube or play games on my phone these days to relax...I teach English now in Taiwan and run my own English school (franchise branch), so I'm really busy.

This section of the forum has been pretty much dead I think.  Years between posts.  But in some way I think we are still a family of weirdos, no doubt.

I'd love to see Charles show up.  Also Akashayi.  I'd bet that Oddball is still lurking somewhere.  Smiles too I bet!  Seems like bulmabriefs and sunphoenix have been really active in the Comic Discussion area.  Also others and others and others again of course, but these come to mind.

RoninAngel?  haha...and I can't remember the pretty young singer's name from some Nordic country (I think).  Selan also.  Anyway, this is all from yeaaars ago.  Nice memories.  Deatzh (sp?) and Chag...others of course.

Life has been good for me.  Got a new house, a new girlfriend, a new computer this year.   Business has been successful.  Actually the girlfriend has been a year and a half already, time flies...

Great image of Suspiria screaming...and the current Crest arc is so easy to relate to...I really know that feeling.  And the mystery is still behind everything that we don't know what is real and what has been created by Suspiria's subconscious.  Great storytelling, great artwork!!!!!
