I would serve in the military again, but I don't think they would let me. I was discharged for clinical depression.  :-\

They discharge people for that? Hm. Interesting.

Pop Culture / Re: Anime!
« on: April 07, 2009, 12:32:56 pm »
what's your fave anime? Samurai Champloo, ROD the TV, Gurren Lagann.
how many series have you seen? Several.
how many anime movies? Most Studio Ghibli ones, and the Girl Who Leaped Through Time.
What series would you never watch again? Death Note...if you've seen it once, there's nothing special to it.
what is your favorite anime Genre? Shonen.
Do you prefer Manga to Anime? Somewhat. It's easier to read faster, but animation is better for some.
how much Anime/Manga do you own? I own Gurren Lagann, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and Nausicaa.

do you watch Hentai? I've seen it, but, for the most part it's either disgusting (like, half the ones i've seen involve either rape or blackmail), otherwise kinda boring.

Do you like Yaoi? No.
or Yuri? Yes.

I never saw the point in sleeping nude when i'm just going to put clothes on in the morning.

I could see it being nice in the summer when its the room is hot

LOL. That's the other thing. If I sleep naked I get COLD. My basement is freezing even in summer.

Also, by that point I'm simply too tired to take them off.

Are we controlling it with our thoughts, or is it controlling us with its thoughts?  Would we even be able to tell?

Are our thoughts our own? Or are our brains merely "thought detectors" receiving thoughts from another source?

And how exactly is wanting polygamy a sign of immaturity?
And secondly, in that statement, how do you define polygamy?
Thirdly, how do you define the concept of immaturity?

My personal stance is that closed relationships with several partners can hardly be less mature than closed monogamous relationships, while open relationships could be, but doesn't nessessarily have to be.

I think the only immature aspect to it is when someone flips out on people for wanting monogamous relationships.
And vice versa for that matter.

Though, I've always thought of "mature/immature" as rather loaded terms.

Wouldn't it be cool if changing your gender was as eaisy as faking it online?  :P

I know, right?

Maybe someday when the wonders of medicine are better...

Sorry dude, that will not be the case.  To be honest I think that idea is kind of cliche.

Right. We're still possible for my English-Speaking Alien Predecessor theory, right?

Now I sad and miss her but I also feel like a hypocrite for dumping her for the exact same thing I am currently doing!  :(
I don't know how to feel about this. But I feel really sad. :(

More details? It sounds like you made some assumptions about the relationship you shouldn't have...it's easy to do when you meet a cool chica and you're all like "she coulda been my girlfriend!"

Also, sounds like she was trying to stay out of it by telling you she was engaged. She wasn't doing the exact same thing at all.

You just need to not think so far ahead so fast, that's all.

Depends on just what and the other circumstances, and how much it would interfere with my life.
As long as I still get to be with my friends, and as long as they aren't screwed over by this, I'd be okay with it, depending on just what they make me do. I mean, if they're going to pay me for it, fine, I'll work for them, as long as some kind of net gain comes back to me.

Although if it screwed up my life, like conscripting me into the military, or forced me to go be slave labor in Alaska or something. or if that happened to someone I care about, fuck it, I'd go terrorist. If my life is already screwed over, may as well get vengeance on the Man.

The problem with this religion is that it still has commandments.  I prefer Pastafarianism and it's eight "I'd Really Rather You Didn'ts."

Which are for pussies who don't have the gonads to step up to the plate!

What, you think you can be awesome by just lounging about and not doing anything particularly hardcore!?

I mean, another Awesome Commandment is Don't Be A Pussy! Cuz Being a Pussy is NOT Awesome!!!??!?

TO THE EXTREEEM!!!!

Well, in anime, you see... targeted to youngsters... sometimes these things are complicated...  the culture of Japan is very different.. and um... nevermind.  :'(

Isn't funny how whenever someone tries to explain anime or manga they end up sounding like a retarded pervert  :(?

Have I revealed my age on this forum yet?

I'm, uh, 15. So it's totally okay for me to dig the underage crowd.

Is Epicness a measurable virtue?

Yes. But I haven't figured out the standard unit of measure yet.

Steeds are indeed a sign of win. Whether they be kickass horses, or vehicles like motorcycles, biplanes, submarines, or winged octopi.
Though never underestimated the awesome of a man who Walks The Earth with his own two feet.

What's the main iconic symbol of the religion?
