Flipside Discussion / New Rules, and Moderator Stuff
« on: April 11, 2009, 01:00:24 pm »
The following new rule has been added to all of the sub-forums:

IV. Be Careful Posting Offensive Images
Do not directly post images that might be seen as offensive, such as nudity.  However, it is okay to link to them, as long as you specifically describe the offensive content of your image.

Also, the "Artist's Den" has an expanded rule about posting threads with "offensive" content:

I. Nudity and Work Safe Images
Although rule IV says you may not directly post nudity, it is okay in this section as long as your thread is marked NSFW, and clearly indicates what type of offensive content it will contain.  For example: "Mr. X's Art Thread!  NSFW (nudity)"  If your thread is named that way, it would be okay to post any kind of nudity, but not okay to post any kind of sexual acts, because the viewers may not expect that.  Lets say you wanted to post your tentacle rape art, then you'd have to label your thread like so: "Mr. X's Art Thread!  NSFW (tentacle rape)"  In other words, your thread must be clearly labeled so that the people clicking on it know what they are getting into.

A couple of new people have been made moderators, Smiles and Akashayi.  Right now, I am working on a "general guidelines for moderators" post, which will be posted in the "Talk to the Moderators" sub-forum.

Flipside Discussion / New T-Shirt Designs. Feedback, please!
« on: March 19, 2009, 01:01:10 pm »
Okay, I've decided to go with the "You are all my food" concept for my first Flipside T-Shirt.  Here are some designs I whipped up:

So, opinions?  Which ones of these do you like the best, which the least?  Which would you be more likely to consider wearing, which would you buy?

Flipside Discussion / Ask Maytag: Questions Thread III
« on: March 18, 2009, 05:58:13 am »
This is just like the character interviews, except the answers show up as vote incentives every day.

You may ask Maytag any question you want! It can be about the politics and pop culture of our real world, or about something in Iscariot, or philosophy in general, advice, or anything about Maytag herself and the people she knows. Funny or serious questions are OK!

You may can also ask the following characters questions:

Bernadette
Crest
Suspiria
Glyph
Umber
Sierra
Orransong
Bloody Mary
Kindred
Qtalda
Vajra

Some guidelines:
1. Keep your question to no more than 1 paragraph, and preferably as concise as possible. Your question may be skipped if it is too wordy.
2. Try to make it not too similar to other recent questions, or it may be passed over due to redundancy.
3. Watch your grammar and spelling. You don't have to be perfect, but at least put a little effort into them.

That's about it. Remember that unlike the interviews, you can ask as many questions to Maytag as you want, and even ask follow up questions to questions that have already been answered. Have fun!

The Draw Maytag Naked Contest is now officially closed.  These are the official submissions.

Flipside Discussion / What do you think of the new forum?
« on: March 16, 2009, 01:00:49 pm »
Unfortunately, we had to move from our vBulletin forum.  Sonika, who has been hosting our forum until now, is no longer in a position to keep hosting it, so I needed to start my own forum on this server.  I decided to just go with a free forum, and that means I wasn't able to transfer over the old database, or any of the discussions from that forum.  Sorry about that!

So this forum will be a new start!  Please register for this forum soon, as the old one will be disappearing shortly!

Any comments about the new forum?  Please feel free to share them here.

Uh oh! Will the truth come out? Will there be surprises? What will happen? I'm so nervous!

Specific Rules for "Comic Discussion"

I. "Chapter X: Discussion" Threads
In particular, you are expected to treat others with the utmost respect in this thread.  It should feel like a pleasant and welcoming place to post for all newcomers.  Anyone who is rude in this thread may quickly find themselves losing their posting privileges in this sub-forum.

Please keep all posts in this thread on-topic.  And although there may be moral issues happening in the comic that you may want to discuss, this is NOT a thread for debate.  If you want to get in depth about specific political/moral issues, please make a separate thread!

II. "Question Threads"
These are threads for the interview section and "Maytag's Corner."  Please restrict your posts in these threads to questions only, as outlined by the guidelines at the beginning of the thread.  Do not reply to others.

III. Language
In this particular section of the forum, please keep swearing to a minimum.  Also, please make your best effort to use proper grammar and spelling, and to sound coherent in your posts.

Specific Guidelines for "Comic Discussion"

I. What is An Appropriate Topic To Start A Thread About?
Any topic which pertains to the comic whatsoever is appropriate to make a post about in this section.  If you have a specific question to me, sometimes it may be more appropriate to just email me or send me a PM.  Use your own discretion.  Also, it is okay to make threads about any aspect of this website, whether it be the gallery/interviews/secret sections or the forums themselves.

II. What isn't an Appropriate Topic?
Don't make a post commenting about the current page/chapter, you can do that in the "Chapter X: Discussion" Thread.  However it is perfectly okay to make threads about past chapters.  Don't make things like introduction threads.  Don't make a thread asking me technical questions like what materials I use to make the comic.
