This month is another free sketch request month!  That means you can request any kind of drawing you like!

Your drawings will be posted as vote incentives, which means you have to vote to see them.  If you miss them, just let me know and I'll repost them later.  Think of them as free mini-commissions... if you've ever wanted to get a sketch from me, now's your chance!

You can request any character you want, it doesn't have to be a Flipside character.  It can be anime character, or a novel character, or even your own original character!  However, it is absolutely required that you have a visual reference for your character, text descriptions are not acceptable.  All sketches are done in pencil, and generally I won't be drawing anything complicated or with backgrounds.  Also generally it should be one single character, group poses take too long, but sometimes a pic of two characters interacting is okay as long as it's very simple.  Sketches will be used as vote incentives in the order in which they are posted.

November Special Restriction: I am bored of drawing my own characters, so please limit your requests only to non-Flipside characters!  Let's have some anime character requests, or original characters.  Please post a link to a visual reference if your character is obscure, but if it's something like Evangelion don't worry about it I can find a reference myself.

You may request 3 sketches.  When you make your request, please number them in the order of priority... otherwise I'll choose based on my own preference.  I'll do everyone's number 1 choice first, and then if I run out I'll do everyone's number 2 choice, and so on.

Here are the restrictions: One per person.  (Don't try to get around this with multiple accounts, because I will know!)  If we are light on requests I will allow a second drawing per person.  All drawings are in pencil, and generally I won't be drawing any backgrounds.  My preference is for single character drawings only, but it's okay to ask for a pic of 2 characters interacting, as long as it's very simple... but a 2 character drawing will be less detailed.  (And since these are vote incentives, none of them are gonna be *that* detailed anyway.)

Anyone else get Dark Souls PC?  I've already played it on PS3, but it feels awesome playing it on a computer for some reason!  If anyone else has it, we should see if we can get co-op to work!

Pop Culture / Dark Souls

So, is anyone here playing Dark Souls?  I am, and it's fantastic... I love not knowing where to go next.  Every area feels dangerous and threatening.  So far I've beaten the first boss, the Taurus Demon, but I can't seem to go any farther that way, because of the dragon.  Now I'm trying to figure out where to go next, and in the meantime I got my first spell.  Anyone else playing it?

So, today I've been downloading a bunch of mods, in an effort to try to prevent spammers from getting into the forum.  Only time will tell how well they work, but at least a few are still getting through even with the various filters and tougher registration code.

What I would really like to do is make it so that you need to have a certain number of posts in order for signatures to be enabled.  All these forum spammers want to do is register as many accounts as possible with signatures in them... even if they make zero posts, if they have links in their signatures it apparently still helps them.  However, it seems there's no way to link signature permissions to the number of posts someone has, there's no mod that I can tell does that.

So I'm thinking about completely disabling signatures on this forum.  That way there will be little benefit for spammers to sign up.  I know some of you have signatures that you like, but would this bother anyone?

Yep, it's true.  Keenspot has offered Flipside a place to join, and I've decided to give it a try.  It's a great chance to expand the readerbase.  This means that from now on there will be a keenspot banner over the top of the page, and some new ad spots, but besides that nothing will change for the readers.  Any thoughts?

Pop Culture / Shin Megami Tensei

So, I'm wondering if anyone here plays Shin Megami Tensei games.  I'm personally a huge fan of them, ever since I first played Persona 1 back when it first game out for Playstation 1.  Just recently for xmas I got Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey for DS, which is sort of like a sequel to Nocturne for PS2, but is more of a throwback to the older games.  I'm about 10 hours into it so far, and am really enjoying it, it's got a great story and a really awesome unique soundtrack, and it's pretty difficult.  Has anyone else here played it?  Or, if not, played any of the SMT games?

Hey, I'd like to have another art contest, for the holidays!  This time, I'm thinking it would be cool if people could do "naughty x-mas pics."  Pics that are x-mas themed, that are in some way naughty... how naughty they are is up to you.  They can be merely a little suggestive, or they can be complete porn, it's totally up to you.  The can be sketches or they can be in color.

I'm thinking that this contest will last through till the end of the year... so that's not a lot of time, but let's see if anyone can come up with something.  The winner will get their choice of: 1 free book, 1 free shirt, or a pencil sketch of whatever they want.

You can go ahead and comment, ask questions, or post submissions in this thread.
