If they are supposed to get together, the anti-magic crystal being gone kinda puts a damper on getting past Eye's aura.

I believe it wouldn't have made a difference. I'd be willing to bet that Thin Man has had access to such devices and tried them on Dark Cell before. Eye's curse is probably one of the strongest magical forces any of these characters has encountered. Speaking of which, if Suspira's magic level is currently "off the charts", I wonder if she has enough power to at least suppress Eye's curse if not dispel it entirely. Certainly food for thought!

These last few panels really portray to the reader a feeling of chaos and confusion that matches how everyone but Melter appears to be reacting. And doing so without resorting to a bunch of indistinguishable motion-blur mess is probably the most impressive aspect. Really enjoying the story Brion!

So.. Yeah, page 2 really clears things right up then. Totally makes sense now. Yep, clear as daylight... Ok, I'm actually even more confused.

Also, what if the Billy Idol song "Eye's Without a Face" is actually a reference to these two characters? "Eye" and "without a face"

I don't like the sound of this. I wonder if the cat will try to switch the girl and Maytag's places?

I wondered the same thing and it way that the cat-thing said "current carrier" leads me to believe that Eye will be able to leave because she's no longer the "current carrier". I'm sure you can follow where that line of thinking leads...
That will certainly make things difficult for May to report back to Thin Man not to mention ever see Bern again. I'm really eager now to see how she gets out of this situation. Perhaps when Eye leaves, Thin Man will be able to ask her the right questions to figure out how to get May back out again. Maybe the other girl (I forget the name) will follow May's lead (now that there is a working method to penetrate Dark Cell) and take her place as the permanent carrier of the storm.

I think the point here is there is a difference between violence as a tool and violence as recreation. In that regard, Bern and the Warden both have valid points. The arena partly exists to portray violence as as sport - a form of recreation. The warden insists that it's violence being used as a form of paying the debt to society for crimes. I don't agree with the warden on this point, but I agree that violence can be used as a tool if it is used without evil intent such as protecting someone.

Yup. I could see some new deal coming up. I refuse to believe that Bern would actually ditch Polly. I'm wondering if she actually has that choice anyway, since they "simply must bring her back, she's worth far too much"; question is, who's paying.

Agreed. Bern has a very heavily weighed down conscience. She already feels that the whole situation is her own fault and that Polly has repeatedly stepped in to help when she didn't have to. As such, she feels like she owes Polly probably more than she really does. Unless the warden offers a preferable option, she'll accept the cost - her conscience will make her feel that she's "letting" Polly die if she doesn't.

Yeah, I'm calling this guy's bluff. In fact, I would be VERY surprised if he wasn't involved in setting up the situation in the first place. He already said that she was too valuable to let her stay dead. How "convenient" that she's dead by means that are easy to reverse. Do you really think the other team will be punished if they were doing this guy's bidding? They're probably getting some kind of preferential treatment now. Of course Bern is in no emotional state to call his bluff and he knows it.

How many people think Moby is into Crest? How many think she's part of an even plot to turn Crest against Suspiria? How many think something else is going on besides option A or B?

I vote no on the getting laid end. Crest kinda reads the same as Tom from 500 days of summer. Too unrealistic "nice guy" without having grasped yet what it takes to actually be a decent guy.

Looks like you called it on "option A". I sort of saw it coming though. Who knows, maybe Crest has enough alcohol in him to loosen him up enough for a "Moby Dick" collaboration project.

3. Crest (Suspiria Storyarc)

To me, it's pretty obvious how the fight is going to go. While I'm eager to see Bern swallow all of her self-doubt and pity and start kicking some arse, I'm actually more curious of what's going to happen with Crest and Suspira. I thought they made a cute couple before she was transformed and I hope things work out so that they can be together again.
