The following are a list of hints to finding some secret areas within the primary flipside website.
They were originally posted by Brion in an earlier forum.

Secret Flipline: Look for the secret "phone" by a counter.
Secret Madman's Stash: Somewhere in May's interview...
Secret Gallery: Look for an image of strip poker.
Secret April Fools Archive: Look for the approriate date in the update log.
Secret Map Room: Step 1: Make a mistake. Step 2: Find the map.

With respect to other's fun in figuring out the clues and finding the areas, please don't post a link the them in the forum. If someone asks for a link because they simply can't find the area despite the clues, kindly PM it to them.

Well the Madman's Stash was a dead giveaway, but other than that...well, I have no idea. What does the AF in AF Archive mean?

Want to give slightly better hints? Of course not the links themselves, but I think it would be ok to make it a little easier.

If you're not fussed about the hunt, I can PM you the links, or at least the link to the MAP room which shows the rough location of the other secret areas and gives a few more hints on how to get to them.

Yeah but the April fools was a tricky one for me. I didn't know where the hell to find the update log, even after I found the map room and it showed there should be a link to it on the front page.

Ha, well that one was easy as well. Two down, three to go. Also, I always did have the suspicion that Brion's real name was Carlos Estévez.

Some areas are very easy, when you use a browser or tool that creates a list of the links in a page without all the hiding stuff. For me Lynx was a big help.
If this is a too big hint, sorry, tell me and I will delete it.

The two I found were just obvious while the other three don't make a bit of sense.

I became aware of these secret areas after they were mentioned within the comic. I became slightly obsessive and seem to remember actually trawling through the entirity of the gallery to see if any other pictures happened to link to a secret area.
I found the madman's stash on my own, and then I believe I found the maproom. The maproom rather ruined finding the last area - but I got it. I think I may have found the flipline before but not really paid any attention to it.

@Brion: have you had many calls over the years on the flipline? Anything interesting?

I heard it's mostly LordKaT calling and forcing Brion to listen to him talk about his various rashes and other weird medical problems.

Ok, additional hint: The Flipline is accessed from the front page of the website. So is the "update log" for that matter, which will help you find the AF archive.

It was supposed to be 10am - midnight, but it said 10am - 12pm. I changed it to 10am - midnight, now it should be more clear.

Thats probably a reason I haven't bothered calling. It's expensive from Australia and all but I'm not afraid or anything, just can't think of anything interesting to talk about *shrug*

We usually have them downtown in a restaurant, or at our place. Our place isn't in the nicest neighborhood, though, so you may want an escort. And it is kind of far from Bolingbrook. I used to drive down to Bolingbrook all the time to go to this video store there, because they had a huge anime selection. I don't bother anymore though, thanks to Netflix.

I've PMed it to a few people. You need only ask if you want to give up the hunt and I'll PM it to you. Otherwise, good luck finding it.
I think I actually found the flipline by accident once. Then when I found out about the hidden areas, the memory came back and I realised what I'd discovered.

Every time I go into my contact list, the Flipline is the first number that pops up.
And I've been considering it, and wondering, what the world do I say? "OH HI THIS IS... uh... I can't really pronounce my forum name..."
Please if I can find a pronunciation for Pozf I'm pretty sure you can find one for Deatzh. Something like Deatshh or deatch or detch or something like that. (at least in my head it does)

Nah Pozf got turned into 2 syllables when people were asking me how to pronounce it ( for the record it's Poz-uhf) too hard to connect the "z" and "f" so I just added a sound that makes it kinda roll of the tongue. Doesn't really matter though whenever people actually refer to me as Pozf,on ventrillo, or in game, it generally ends up being Pozzie for whatever reason.
It doesn't have to sound how it looks... that's the best part of making up a random word to use as a moniker. Well that and it ends up being unique to you and identifying.
(Edit: Not always actuall,y Pozf was taken on Ebay when I went to buy a part for my ipod today. Grar.)
The real catch is getting people to realize it's you when you talk to them because they may not pronounce it "properly" in their head, and get confused by it.

I found most of the secret areas on my own. I like the challenge. But the flipline. I'll admit, I'm a little phone phobic. As in seriously, I don't like talking on them period, even with people in my family.

Heh, i had to ask Charles for the map also. Rest are easy to find with the hints. :P
And i hate talking on the phone also. Everytime it rings, i don't want to pick up, i get nervous when i have to talk to people i don't know and i can't see them face to face. I guess that's because i'm living with other people, and 96% of the calls are for my mother. If i were living on my own, i KNOW 100% of the calls are for me, so when i'm going to pick up, i'll find someone i know already. Or wrong number, but whatever.

This seemeed like a great idea to do before i went to bed,an hour ish later and Im still thinking it was a good idea,but also wondering how to beat insomnia tomorrow night :)
CTRL+A is such a useful shortcut with these things, the only one that gave me real trouble was the april fools one.
Ah well,time well spent, now off to have some probably quite odd Flipside-y dreams. Yay?
