Yep, it's true. Keenspot has offered Flipside a place to join, and I've decided to give it a try. It's a great chance to expand the readerbase. This means that from now on there will be a keenspot banner over the top of the page, and some new ad spots, but besides that nothing will change for the readers. Any thoughts?

the banner looks ugly to me, but it's a great opportunity for the comic!

do you get to keep the same URL or are we gonna be stuck with something like www.keenspot.com/comics/anime-manga/fantasy/dh%i28jk1sk013/nympho/brion/flipsidecomics.htm?

Shure about that? Not flipsidecomics.keenspot.com ors imilar?
If it's a subdomain to your domain you can name it however you like. There is no reason why not stick with 'www' or leave it away completely.
I'm not into wecomics enough to know, why keenspot is such a big deal. But from what I've heared about it it seems to be a good thing.
So, gratulations.

If the flipsidecomics.com url will still work, I'll probably keep checking the comic through here. But congrats on the offer, I hope it brings in a ton of new readers!

Wow! Just noticed this news. Grats. Keenspot cleaned house last year with a lot of the comic authors. I think they take some advertising costs away from you, but you've got 5 books out there now so getting that readerbase in will could attract buyers at that end.
Will you be looking to move into the Keenspot forums or plan to keep this one going?

Hey Brion, congrats on the switch.
You might want to tell the Keenspot webmaster to add Flipside to Keenspot's main page (and make it bold, since Flipside is updated frequently). Also, s/he should put you on top of the news spot, since you're... new.

phyisically it seems fine, but the page and forum seem quite a bit slower than usual... though it might just be my router having a bad day.

Hi,
i just tried clicking your new DND-comic link, it results an dead end, which may be because it is still referring to flipsidecomics.com. This is the case with all the DND-links on the main page. The comic works fine.
Also, as i just registered, i got a mail with an activation link, which is kind of broken. The activation link only says "/forum/index.php?action=activate;u=xxxx;code=xxxxxxxxxxxx" (just x-ed my id and the activation key). As i receive emails on my iPod and surf with my notebook i had to retype everything here. Maybe you wanna fix it, too.
On another note: I'm reading your comic for two or three months by now and both the story and the drawings are awesome! Keep up the good work!

Yeah, the DND comic is currently broken. They're supposed to be fixing it soon.
And yeah, the whole site does seem slower... I'll have to ask them about that.
I have no idea why you'd be getting that error with the registration. Seems like you managed to get registered anyway, though. We'll have to see if other people are having that same problem as well.

Huh, yes. A whole heap of profile pics are no longer appearing for me. Although, in this page, my own appears together with pwncho's. But I can't see Oddball's, Brion's or anyone else's avatars.

Yeah... I think I might have identified the problem. It's something that'll have to be fixed server side.
Edit: The reason you couldn't see mine is because I had to update it in my profile; it should show up now. Seems this may be the case with a lot of people. If you put a link to your avatar, it should work. However, uploading will not currently work because of some things screwed up on the server, I'll see if I can fix them.

Okay, the problem with the avatars should be fixed. You should be able to upload avatars now.

Why the change?
I don't like the increased adverts.

For a couple of reasons, mainly increased ad revenue and exposing Flipside to a bigger audience. Sorry about the increased advertisements, but there's always been advertisements to some extent and there probably always will be. I need to do what I can to try to make a living, hope you can understand.

I'm using Firefox, and I'm getting extremely long load times, as well as mislocated ads (for instance, plastered on top of the location of the comic). What's worse, I'm not getting the comic. The frame loads, but the image never appears.

Did any one else see the S.E.P.A (Scottish Environment Protection Agency) adverts or are they area specific?

Seems like the ads are area specific. I get Norwegian ones.
