well i noticed we where lacking a post your desktop thread, so i made one (well am making (well, will have made as of when you are reading this)) it's fun to see how people personalize their computers
heres my desktop:
(http://img560.imageshack.us/img560/7030/screenshothnu.th.png) (http://img560.imageshack.us/i/screenshothnu.png/)
i have two monitors and in case you where wondering where all the stuff is, it's on bars down the side/across the botom (windows and clock on botom, everything else up side)
-
Ok then, i guess i see the point.
-
where'd you get that theme for windows? looks cool!
-
dont really remember... probabally just googled "themes for windows", its called XoddX.
The cursor I have is from the ED cursor set of Earth 2150
-
well i wouldn't know about the cursor, windows dosen't capture cursors in the screenshot
-
huh so it doesn't
in that case, my cursors look like this.
-
Mine normally flick through a folder of about 200 or so on shuffle, but here is one of my favorites - too large to upload, so here is a deviantart link. (http://hel999.deviantart.com/art/Tenpenny-Babe-195746840)
-
like the cursors
and nice choice of backgrounds, i used to have a shuffling desktop on the laptop i used for school, my desktop picture used to be a point of interest for the entirety of most of my classes
-
Mine is pretty standard. Nothing fancy. Even the default background.

-
what distro is that?
-
what distro is that?
That's Open SuSE 11.2.
I once had a system that was more or less a LFS, (you try to get a standard distribution run X11 on a computer with 300 MB disk and 20 MB RAM) these days I prefer a system that is less time consuming in its administration.
-
I got bored one day and looked up "crochet penis warmer" to make a gag gift for my room mate.. An this picture came up.. And it HAD to be my desktop :)

Oh shush..you LOVE IT!

My desktop. Both literally and figuratively. It's a photo of my work bench. I think it was a transmission gear. Though to be honest, I can't remember what it came out of.

Final Getsuga, if you haven't seen bleach up till now, beware, it is a spoiler. Unless you don't plan on watching bleach at all...

-
how do you capture you desk top on Vista?
-
There is a brilliant button called "PrtScr" that takes a screenshot. It saves it to the clipboard. So you will have to go to pain or something and paste it in.
-
New desktop, got the rol factor hammered into me i guess. :P

Ooh, man, you all have some awesome desktops. My favourite has to be Chag4's, though. This (http://i41.tinypic.com/28cqb0y.png) is my newest one, but this is my preferred one:

Too many icons. D:
-
Like the sims much chag? ;)
-
(http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b320/ducky_worshiper/Desktop2.png)
That's mine. I'm not sure why it put the task bar from the 2nd monitor in the middle, it's on the bottom on my actual screen <shrug>
Also - Chag I luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurv the Sims and I'm jelly cuz I think you have more of the packs than I do :< Although I do have all the expansions and I think 3 of the stuff packs so maybe not >.>
Seriously during the week I play WoW and on the weekend I play the Sims /excitinglife.
-
Well, I'm a collector so I try to get all of the packs, but EA are moneysucking bitches so I wasn't sure if I'd pick up the Diesel pack and I just kind of boycotted the Katy Perry stuff because I just found it ridiculous.
I have everything of Sims 2 also btw, I just didn't have room for all the icons on my desktop anymore.
-
Yeah I don't have the Diesel pack, the Katy Perry one, the car one, or um, the outdoor one.
-
Why not, here's what things look like these days

cool i like outer space backdrops they're really pretty. I've been doing anime girls as my backgrounds for a while now
this month is the first i knew what anime it was from in a long time.
-
Ok technophobe here how do you do that again? lol
-
(https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-tBG_72PRHK0/UDKdigk6k2I/AAAAAAAAAcg/FQ0viancdyU/s800/BG.jpg)
The space theme continues! Unfortunately on a terrible resoulution monitor for the moment :(
Also Icons are for suckas.
And odd, If you are running windows, an easy way is to find the "print screen" (or potentially "Prnt Scrn") button on your keyboard; Go to your desktop, showing what you want to show in the picture, and hit the button. Next right click on your desktop and go to -> New -> Bitmap image. Once you create a new image file, open it up, press Control + V and the image should paste itself into the file. Then save, upload and rejoice.
-
Ok thanks, using Windows Vista so give it a go some time.
-
Let's try this:
-
(Yes, I know it's been over a year since anyone posted here, but I'm hoping the occasional thread necromancy might encourage a few people back...)
So I'm running Arch + xfce + Kwin + Cairo Dock across two monitors (a 24" full HD TV on the left [1980x1080], a 19" monitor to the right [1440x900]).
The preview below is 1117x359, clicking on it will take you to a near full sized version (3128x1005 compared to the 3360x1080 original).
The picture is a DIY photo of part of Kenilworth Castle - the central portion with the large windows was originally the Great Hall, with vaulted stores below.
