I decided to do something new.
Instead of "taking a sabbatical" which usually fails (lol guys, I'm still posting here), I instead will keep some accountability for my goals *here*, in this thread.
You guys too! Use this thread to declare what you accomplished today, no matter no big, or how small.
Today, I:
1. Worked an 8 hour shift.
2. Was nicer than usual to customers.
And that's it. Today was...less than productive. But I have big plans for tonight!
-
1. Cleaned and oiled my Grandad's 30-60 year old tools which he gave me Yesterday.
2. Told the Mrs. that I want a divorce
3. Went out and shopped for some Microwave meals.
4. Moved into the spare bedroom.
5. Caught up with the Internet.
-
2. Told the Mrs. that I want a divorce
3. Went out and shopped for some Microwave meals.
4. Moved into the spare bedroom.
Why? What happened?
-
Re-installed M/S flight sim onto the PC with a few add ons and downloaded aircraft.
-
Survived the drive to work and back home.
-
Drove the ~300km home from my grandma's in winter road conditions. (yesterday I drove even further in more severe conditions though)
-
Great news. I made amends with that one friend of mine.
-
@CDSM: CONGRATS!
@Leana: http://www.flipsidecomics.com/forum/index.php?topic=168.msg63048#msg63048
Today I.
1. checked systems at work
2. fixed issues at work
3. ate cake :-*
4. trained on P-Series blades.
-
This is yesterday, but
1. Survived the TSA's 'enhanced security' measures and pat down on my way back into the US
so, yeah, I'm home now.
-
This is also yesterday... The fact that i came home unscrached is quite a miracle.
I was driving on the highway when extreme mist froze of my car window. I couldn't see anything anymore because the snow on my hood clogged the window water thinghy. So i was driving 60 k an hour with no vision and didn't know if i was driving to fast for cars in front of me or to slow for cars that would come up behind me. I had about 5 terrifing minutes until i finaly reached the viaduct near my hometown and i was able to get of the highway in one piece.
I was litteraly trembling in fear.

What you mean is that the security guys survived right?
Hopefully you didn't maime them permanently?
Selan: eek

Wow, that's terrible. I'm glad you made it back all right.
-
Heh, yeah, i only beat them half to death.
-
I thought you'd be more of the kind of girl who sexes people to death 'kasha ;)
-
I thought you'd be more of the kind of girl who sexes people to death 'kasha ;)
Like in that one james bond movie? All leg squeezey? (or... in ninja scroll?) Nope, that's not me. I'm much more the type to use martial prowess and/or a good blade or gun.
-
Ah, I feel much safer now... sort of, at least as a fellow flipside forumite XD

I don't think he meant entirely voluntarily :p

That's Famke Janssen she's Dutch, only the Dutch would sex people to death :p
-
Damn right we would!

It's okay, I won't hold it against you.
(Unless you promise not to kill me.)

*Poses* Never tell me the odds.
-
with funds required, effort and cooldown time I estimate that there's only a %15 chance she'd bother to kill you
... unless she knows someone over there she can contact and count on to exact vengeance in which case there's less cooldown, less effort and less funds required... but since it's someone else they probably wouldn't be as deadly as Kashi so your chances of survival go up, putting the odds at around %30
-
Odds? who called?
-
I did, It's what I accomplished today :P
Actually I accomplished a bit of a stalemate between two of my work colleges who have been seriously waring and arguing. Both of them are from Northern Europe so the boss thought they'd get on fine when he hired the other guy... unfortunately the one already working for us is an ex member of the Air-force while I think the other used to be a hippie o.O
Other than that I continue to work on various new years resolutions such as sorting out my marriage, doing a daily crossword and sudoku, learning Japanese and watching more anime or reading more Manga.
-
I actually accomplished nothing so far :( apart from surviving my three nights at work and walking from the front door at work over sheet ice to my car.
-
1. Mailed out three sumemr internship applications
2. Watched Dixie Chicks: Shut Up and Sing (a very good documentary)
-
unfortunately the one already working for us is an ex member of the Air-force while I think the other used to be a hippie o.O
I can see how you could have missed the incoming problem. I mean, One sits around, doing nothing, complaining about the war, drinking coffee, and the other is a hippy.
-
What gets me is why does every one pick on the Air Scout? lol
-
Actually, he's one of the hardest workers I've ever met. Bloke does 60+ hours a week.
I think he's a workaholic... but he does drink lots of coffee
-

More of a general joke about the Chairforce, but good on him.
-
Absolutly nothing, how about that?
-
Absolutly nothing, how about that?
Yeah, same here, really. A haircut is less my achievement than the barbers.
-
I accomplished not killing any stafff or any of the residents last night 8)
-
I managed to lose my iPod today.
edit: I also managed to find it. Yay.
-
I've lost another kg of weight. Only 8 more to go. Not sure if fitness or health are improving but I guess I'll be able to see it as the exercises become easier and I find myself able to do more.
-

8 more.... ...until your mighty quest is complete? o.O
-
I mastered The Ocean!
-
Conquest over fat at least. I'm pretty much just doing exercises that burn fat. Once I've got rid of that I'll concentrate on building muscle with strength exercises.
DAMMIT! I just realised I missed doing a crossword yesterday! There goes my resolution to do a crossword every day. grrr, It's cos I went home sick before lunch and my routine was to do one during my lunch break. Oh well, I'll just do two today and keep at it.
-
I managed to finish my Genetics homework, which was very difficult. I also managed to get a lot of reading done for some of my other classes, which is why I have the time to post on the Flipside Forums ;D.

Why the crosswords? For mental acuity, or just because you like them?
They take a lot of time for me at least.
-
Had our first lesson with C++ today.

Mental and to widen my vocabulary. Probably good practice for writing to (i.e. know the words out there that i can use). I'm just doing online ones and they're pretty easy.
Got in a run this morning and the usual warm-ups and exercises.
@CDSM: I hated C++. Cobol was a breeze over that.
-
Yeah, there's a reason I like my ruby and my python now.
I highly recommend this book, though
"How Not to Program in C++"
http://nostarch.com/hownotc.htm
----
edit: Also, today... I've accomplished coffee.
And breaking the washing machine. -_-
-
@Akashayi: Just what the heck are you? A programmer or an electronics engineer? Are you fixing code or fixing Televisions to earn a crumb. I can't think what the hell you would be using your unique set of skills for...
...unless

I'm actually looking to apply to a mechatronics program and go back to school >.>;
Though, my deathbot army is supposed to have been a secret.
-
Makes sense. I just suddenly put programming and electronics together and realised what it could be applied to and thought "Thats EXACTLY what Akashayi would do" *lol*
-
@CDSM: I hated C++. Cobol was a breeze over that.
The teacher's not that helpful, either. So, basically I'm just going to read the textbook and teach myself enough to do the assignments.
-
I accomplished not tracking down my worthless for an excuse of a manager and riping her throat out since I found out I will be out of a job in six weeks time due to the home closing
-
:'(
Damn Oddball. My Condolences... nothing much more to say except my congratulations as well for avoiding the throat ripping.
-
Thats strike two for bad luck. just waiting for the third to strike either from behind a bush, droping down from a tree or maybe reaching up from below out of a drain. :-\
-
Okay, not to make light of a dark situation, but I can't help but be amused that half the accomplishments in this thread (including my own) are sarcastic in nature.
-
1 that's not dark it's funny
2 for the record mine was serious. * I meant The Ocean (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MxSW0zGsbw) *
-
So was mine installing M/S flight sim, all the add on's and various aircraft i have downloaded, took hours to get it all set up and working.
-
A few days ago, and not complete yet, but still:
-
Ok for a Chaos model I have to say............*Groan* that looks pretty good.
-
posted more pics in my creative corner topic :)
-
absolutely nothing, thanks to being in bed with a bad migraine all day. Fail.
-
@EMP_Dragon: Looking awesome! Is that the flash reflection or have you seriously put a small light in there to make the "eyes" glow?
@Akashayi: :( get well soon.
-
About to finish a course from work............even though I'm about to lose my job on 26th Feb lol
-
I walked away unscathed from a car crash in 70km/h*2 and the pretty girl and her mom in the other car could walk to the ambulance rattled but without visual injuries :)
-
Bluddy hell chief :o hows the car? is it all right? (only joking good to see every one got out of it all right :) )
-
The cars were wrecked though, hit my right hand front corner (passenger side) on her left front corner (driver's side) and the Hilux sort of shaved her bonnet, compressed her engine compartment and pushed the driver's side backwards, jamming the door, denting the beam of the windshield and breaking the side window, while mauling the Hilux's condenser and bumper back to the hull beams and steering actuators in that corner.
That none of us got any serious physical injuries boils down to bare dumb luck...
-

Gotta love those compact zones *lol*
-
Shiesse. Glad you're alright, man.
-
So am I 'kasha, trust me! and thanks for caring :-*
-
I managed to get myself to return to the formums. Usually the longer I'm away, the less I want to come back, so it's a pretty good accomplishment for me. Hi guys, I missed you. :P
-

Yeah, it's Dragonizer!
I reinstalled my computer. Cleaned up everything, now I'm in the process of sorting through all my files in preparation for the Challenge.
Now I'm going to finish all my homework for tomorrow and thursday.
-
Damn Emp! Accidents suck :( glad everybody is save.
Welcome back Dragon :)
Oh and i accomplished to go to the hospital today after i had an MRI scan last monday because i have a gland problem (glandula submandibularis). The gland will have to be removed because there is a stone in it that blocks the outflow of suliva (sp). I'll get an operation somewhere in march. :-*
-
eeee. That's something I've never heard of. Good luck and hope it goes well and everything gets better, Selan!
-
Hehee Leana already called me scarface!
She is evil people!!!
-
Hehee Leana already called me scarface!
She is evil people!!!
To be fair, you were Taking an enormous amount of cocaine, and trying to introduce people to your "Little fren' " at the time.
-
OMG how did you know!!!!!!
Anyway... My cat is happy because she just had eye surgery and now she can laugh at me when i come home with a pink necklace and a lampshade on my head. (she wishes)
-
Lol, now that'd be a sight for sore eyes XD
-
actually i won't be scarface but scarneck :p
-
ohh, a scar to nibble on an already nibbleworthy neck! :P
-
I'm starting to figure out C++. Mostly because I got to look through the textbook.
-
today i:
gave my new bunny a bath
and held my new bunny with out it frieking out for the first time :-*
-
You know... you don't bathe animals right?
Only a dog on occasion, but other animals... you don't bathe....
-
In all the 11 years (or was it more) I had my rabbit and Guinea pigs I cant remember giving them a bath :-\
-
Just type it in on google, they say you shouldn't unless it has a very dirty spot or something and then you just localy rinse it.
A healthy rabbit should never be bathed. They keep themselves very clean without any help from us.
A sick rabbit with a messy bottom may sometimes need to be locally bathed, and you can find instructions for that.
but if your bunny is healthy, then please do not bathe her *ever*. It can cause enough stress to kill the bunny! We know of more than one tragic rabbit death that appears to have been caused by nothing more than a bath.
-
No wonder they lived for so long ;D
-
but now she's all clean and shiny. ^_^
she needed it.
she didn't' die from it.
things i've accomplished today: i woke up and ate breakfast....oooh i'm overachieving today. ;D lol.
-
Calm down Smiles and leaving something for tommorrow lol
-
I finally re-installed steam,Counter Strike and am playing competitively again.
-
I accomplished to having a shower....what seems major....
I did nada...just because those fucking loosers might break in again...I'm kind of waiting for them before i want to leave the house again!
-
Want me to lurk out side and keep watch Leana? be better than hiding in Selan's bushes and getting covered in cat piss :-\
-
I can come and lurk too, maybe shadow could lend us an MG and some belted ammo to really make sure they won't be coming thrice?
-
Want me to lurk out side and keep watch Leana? be better than hiding in Selan's bushes and getting covered in cat piss :-\
Cats do piss there a lot don't they?
It's like they are attracted to something in there...
-
i was thinking more along the lines of us dressing up in full armor and assult weaponry and maybe setting churba up on the berret
-
Hmm, I stil want an MG, maybe an m240? I'll live without a CG for now... the overpreassure from the backblast and warhead detonation wouldn't be good for the neighbourhood's windows.
-
setting churba up on the berret AW50
M82s ain't my style.
-
Great all I do is suggest some light lurking and the heavy weapon support group comes out :-\
-
What? You call that heavy? Just wait until I get my 1:1 Reaver done, then you'll have heavy weapons...
-
Work...and work...
How do you guys always end up with guns?
-
Lots of moving parts and often go bang?
-
Leana thats kind of like asking how sex addics keep getting porn or prisoners get smokes we beat up someone and make them smuggle them around where no one wants to search them
-
Leana thats kind of like asking how sex addics keep getting porn or prisoners get smokes we beat up someone and make them smuggle them around where no one wants to search them
Well, To be fair, that's only my sidearm, I put the rifle in a carrying case.
-
managed to drive home from work with out falling asleep at the wheel :)
-
Managed to bike home through 4" of locally compacted wet snow without falling over too much
-
I uploaded my first video to youtube today.
Unfortunately, I think anyone who isn't American won't be able to see it. :(
-
They could get behind an american proxy
-
Well if you send me the link I could try it for you
-
First see this video. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQRFuBeRAi4)
Then see my parody of it (with script written by a friend) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTTm2axodAo&feature=response_watch).
-
Ok your friends one is blocked for me :-\ Tell you one thing those guys are not comeing to one of my parties if they do that to jelly moulds lol
-
blocked for me also :(
-
Managed to sit through half an hour of some one wasting my time who I thought could help me find a new job even though a job back with the REME (Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers) sounds good even if it is for a month and unpaid, bought two pairs of woodland Combat 95 trousers, bought some new "old" games for my PS2 and watched the entire series one of NCIS on DVD that I had bought at the start of the week only took me two days of continous watching. does that make up for my lapses in the past week or so of unacheivment?
-
Those are massive achievements, Odd, Massive Achievements!
um, what's NCIS?
-
NCIS=Naval Crimanial Investigation Service bit like the CSI programmes but military, better, has Gibs (Mark Harmon from St Elsewhere) and a Goth Forensic Lab Rat ;D
Edit but what I did not accomplish was to buy a pair of Desert Combat 95 pattern trousers since the army surplus shop was sold out so bought a second pair of woodlands to make up for it.
-
working...and watching x-factor!
-
X-factor? NOOOOOOOOO its spread over there now!!
-
Yups...i'ts funny :P
-
It's depressing, as long as it does not have that Simon Cowell bloke
-
The auditions are sometimes just hilarious!
-
Went for a long walk around town, tried to get onto the unemployed register, ordered a new jacket for my kilt along with a new tie and flashes for the socks, got a form for a part time job at a local car parts warehouse and bought new wipers for the "Green Bomber" is that enough for you all?
-
Double post but what the hell: applied for a job at a local airport and filled in my visa form for my trip to Russia in May
-
i climbed out of bed today! i feel so accomplished! ;D :-*
-
Accepted a few gifts from Smiles, courtesy of SuperPoke Pets (thanks :)!). Other than that, studied and worked on homework. Friday can't arrive soon enough, although I am eager to do well on my exam tomorrow night.
-
went to work...
took care of bunny...
kicked sis off the compy...
joined a new FB app...
gee i did alot today ;D
-
Got made into a zombie
Ate some people's brains
Took part in a barbershop quartet of "Still Alive" by Jonathan Coulton & GLaDOS
Drew a whole mess of concentric circles
Started an art duel with somebody
Missed a chance to be in a 1-second clip for some promotional video
Failed to make it to the rave :[
Took a nap
-
Packed my bags for surgery tomorrow :'(
-
Good luck with the surgery, Selan :-*! What's it for, again?
Today, I vacuumed quite a bit of the house, did some laundry, studied a bit, and booked my train trip to and from Anime Central. It was a good day :P.
-
Packed my bags for surgery tomorrow :'(
Hope it goes well, whatever it is.
-
Thanks guys, all went well. They removed my suliva gland.
So now i'm scarneck. I look pretty badass actually.
-
Well then, Selan, be sure to post a thread in the Ultimate Badass thread. I'm sure it qualifies 8).
-

Selan: So badass she can post threads in other threads.
-
Yeah, I meant photo, but a thread would work, too :P.
-
Well i didn't accomplish this today but....
Friday i arrested four kids that where trashing company property.
(together with the police)
They where wise-mouthing me so i gave them a piece of my mind that really shut them up good.
Anyway, they where arrested and now they can pay for the damage they've done this past week.

Hey, good for you!
-
Hehe, had I passed the course I didn't this weekend, it would have been a really bad idea to try something funny against what I'd be guarding or anyone within eyesight of me when serving in the role of military security guard. However, I wasn't pleased with my results for the shooting test so I asked to be failed and rescheduled to take the course again at a later date when I'm more practiced with my rifle instead of re-taking the test.

Scars: Everybody's Lame Amusement. Nonces.
-
What does that mean?
-
What does that mean?
Take away everything but the bolded letters.
-
I got that, Hehe
-
Well...I wrote to an old friend today. Hopefully, I'll be able to get back in touch with them. I'm kind of out of options for a social life, otherwise.
-
Played my first game of Blood Bowl playing as Orks against Elves. Lost 2-1 but "killed" one elve and put three (or was it two) others in the injured pile, changed my army list for a up coming planetery campaign thanks to Games workshop not being consistant with thier Codex's and found out more details for my trip to Russia at the start of MAy.
-
Had a post landmine-drill revelation that will never let me look at a roadside railing as just that ever again.
-
Got job: Check
Passed Road Test: Check
Cured Bone-itis: .... not check
Two out of three isn't bad for today.
-
@Pozf: Grats mate.
-
I just made my first fan art of my life, and i'm proud. Even if it is monstrous.
-
Hey, I think this calls for a celebration Pozf. Let's break out the booze and the borderlands. :P
-
i accomplished A TON today!
Washed all of the baby clothes we have so far. Washed the crib sheets and other misc. goodies we've gotten so far for the baby. Got the car seats set up in the cars. Got rid of our rats and their filty little mess they left behind... it was nasty.. shampooed the carpet under where they were being kept.. super nasty.. and we cleaned regularly under there >_< NASTY!
Generally got shit ready for the baby! woot woot! only 41 days to go! (give or take a few)
-
I surrvied a two week tour of Russia with a bunch of veterans, the Russian transport system and also the underground trains in London.
-
Double post but what the hell:
Managed to find another four Geocaches putting my up to 28 and spent the afternoon with my dad.
-
i :
got all my Acen pictures up on facebook.
went for a walk with sis and a friend
made a list of people to invite to a party
survived work after 3 hours sleep...
and learned something new.
i did lots today ^_^
-
Drove a new brand of car, shot an Mp5 and some more Glock 17 :P Nice holes in paper ;D
-
Managed to find 6 more Geo Caches and hurt my left knee while trying to do some X-country running :-\ :'(
-
well im sure using some icyhot or bengay will help the pain odd, just try not to hurt yourself again too soon!
As for me, ive got a gig to do (its not done yet but ill just pass out after so if i dont post it now it wont be "today") for my band and ive got to wear my tux again (i wear it probably 8-9 times a year by now, but worth it for the most part)
-
My car passed it's warrant of fitness without costing to much.
edit to prevent double post.
I unclogged a toilet today...
Imagine you are a guy with diahroeuueioueeeeeeeeeeeeee (wtf sp?)
You go to the toilet and you grab the toiletpaper to drop some in the toilet to prevent upsplash (yes!! upsplash! you all know it!)
But instead of dropping a smal tissue in it you drop the whole toilet roll!!
BUT!!! now you really get the cramps and you have to go, so what do you do?
YESH!!! You crap all over the huge toiletroll that is stuck in the toilet and try to flush that's what you do!!
Afterwards you feel so ashamed of the clogged and overflowing toilet you lock the door from the outside and leave.
That's where i come in :-*
Yesh people!! I unclogged the toilet :-*
Ima hero
-
^ Wow :o. I applaud you, especially for bearing what must have been a horrible sight (and horrible smell).
Today, according to my lab supervisor, I produced a very good quality gel (which is a first for me).
-
This was yesterday: I managed not to loose my temper (much) and throw dice at my opponent (the cheating Bostik!) when I was playing a campaign game of Warhammer 40K.
-
I finished a 72h exercise as part of the 'enemy' side where the terrain was mostly pine and fir forest on marshland base, with countless storm-felled trees, and more or less constant rain.
It was a watery hell, with countless moskitoes treating me and the others as some kind of 24/7 buffet...
-
On Saturday went out got heat/sun stroke the reason is in the "Big Vat Of Happiness" thread.
-
i saw that my (quite serious) sunburns are starting to peel so i scratched them
-
Well after some affirmative action (Liberating the freesat reciver from the consevatory) managed to get it hooked up to the tv in my room. and yesterday getting the dish up and tuned in.
-
i woke up...a harder feat than many XD
-
Started to track down the service record of a Black Watch Officer burried in Archangel (Russia) and started on my Chaos Soul Grinder............dont get your hopes up and start the chants yet Emp I'm still not going over fully.
-
Riiight... ;)
-
Got my 'nets restored at the new house, damn near finished squaring away my bedroom, set up my computer desk(in the wardrobe, no less), did a dump run(as in, took stuff to the land fill, not any combination of running and...y'know), cooked up a rice pudding and some nice lamb cutlets, sent a message to Charles, mowed the lawn, and finished moving the last scraps of shite out of the old place.

And since I missed posting on Saturday, I patched the barn roof where the storm last week tore a gaping hole in it.

Today, I actually repaired my computer with duct tape.
Hell yeah.
Ranakel gets my vote for Jackleg Engineer of the week. (That's a good thing, really.)
...and I'm completely drawing a blank as to what I did for the past eight hours...
Seriously. Dude. Uh... I took a dog for a walk when I got home?
(Still can't remember work today. Oh well. Couldn't have been important then.)
-
Today I mostly screwed up a paint job on a Chaos Terminator squad and a Terminator Lord.
-
Got another 4 hours into a still life only to talk around class and realize I am not as good in painting as I want to be yet... time to get cracking for the end of the semester!!
-
Finally cemented recursive methods in discrete math into my brain.
-
(yesterday)
Finally got back into my weekly hike routine. Oh dang have I gotten out of shape compared to last year.
-
Oh noes, double post. We all need to accomplish more.
I took second place in an action pistol competition. w00t.
-
Congrats!
What cal.? And what kind of pistol?
-
Combination .45 1911 and 9mm G17
-
Nice! All yours or some borrowed?
I've only got a .22 uniqe model 69 myself on a sporting licence.
-
Both mine. I've got quite a few. I'm the son of a former military combat arms instructor. I could field strip an M-16 by the time I was 10. :) It's become something of a hobby. I only started getting into these competitions 5-6 months ago. Only the second time I've placed in the top three, so either I'm improving, or the competitions getting worse. :)
-
I managed to drag my arse back in here ;D
-
I managed to drag my arse back in here ;D
Bravo!
I managed to graduate high-school with high honors.
My official graduation song is "The Best of You," by the Foo Fighters.

Wow, all I remember is that our graduation song sucked so much, that I tried my best to forget it. Lucky you for getting something decent. And congratulations :) And I'm not going to spout any of that "Welcome to the real world" BS others are going to. You've been here the whole time. Life is basically like Highschool :)
As for my accomplishements? I got covered in fiberglass insulation. I don't think that really counts.
-

Well I'm friends with the guy who made the slide shows and power points. (They made him do it ALL last minute, ON the day it was due!) I got to change my song. I'm not revealing the original, but yes... it sucked.
And I'm afraid not. I've never lived in the "real" world. I've always lived in my own. ;D
Also, I managed to break my throat because I refused to shut up and I kept singing all day. Worth it though.
-
Managed to win my first WH40K game for a long time ;D ;D (7 victory points to 1).
-
Ooh Ooh Ooh!
I got sunburn for the first time in over... (thinking) ... 6-7 years(?)!
-
I made it rain.
It's been dry and dusty for weeks, but I tempted fate by heading out without rain gear on my bike, and staying out way later than I should have. BOOM. Thunderstorm, lashing wind and rain with a wee bit o' sleet. I got drenched.
BUT IT WAS A DAMNED EFFECTIVE RAIN DANCE.
-
I scored 28/30 in the Korean Final. This is a friggin' annoying language. I'm done, for now, with it.
-
I made 9$ in 40 minutes while getting a bonus mark for my psych class, awesome!
-
I nailed one of the songs we're playing with the band. It cost me a lot of practice, but now we can make it perfectly!
Note: this song requires 2 guitars, we only have me in one, so.... 2 guitars in 1, i found it pretty hard. XD
-
More of a finished, and more a yesterday but...
I finished reading Homestuck. The thing has 3857 pages! It took me somewhere round 90 hours to read in 1 week!
-
I sucessfully navigated home through paddington station, heathrow airport, copenhagen airport and local Swedish midsummer's eve bus time tables and also discovered I have dropped 4 excess kilos during the two week trip to paris-nottingham-london and are now only weighing 0.122 metric ton rather than 0.226 :P
-
I managed to hit my finger....while ussing a cutter...now it's swollen. Damn table. :'(
-
Assembled 5 Mk5 armor assault marines and a renegade guardsman squad
-
Drew some more in my new sketch book, went to Aikido, added 6 more posts on this site before going to bed.
-
Trimmed all the flash and casting taps off two Dreadclaw assault pods from Forgeworld (A UK company)
-
I was awesome at using my crossbow again! (even though it's been months since I've used it)
-
Almost finished assembly of the two afforementioned dreadclaws, making a total of three availiable for dropping nasty things behind enemy lines from orbit and then revert to shuttles, relocating other units around the tabletop :P
-
I managed to get a gift/fan-art and a contest art entree done today!
-
This was while I was away:
Got a few Combat 95 shirts in woodland and desert pattern with divisional emblems and Union Flags, a belt from my old unit and a Combat 95 weather proof smock in woodland pattern with Union Flag.
-
glued the leg and hip assembly of my chaos warhound onto the base and glued the main body except weapon arms together
-
I managed to bugger up my arm again!
I'm working on being an old man very very fast. Ouch.
-
in that case I'm as old as the hills since the left half of my body is falling apart. got wood worm on my metal knee and rust on my wooden knee ;)
I managed to survive my first day back at work after two weeks off.
-
Today I sprung a practical joke on my closest boss... Time will tell the result:P
-
Well you will either get your arse put on a platter or get fired lol
-
Backing up to this weekend, not a damned thing.
But that was the point. I took some time off.
On a side note, I did not 'accomplish' this, but it made me happy; got my camera back from the repair shop today.
Yay.

Realising i'm the only person in my physics class that actually understands it.
There's work to do? Everybody looks at me and waits for me to do it for them.
Being smart is a pain in the ass.

I feel your pain. Back when I took physics it was the same way. I remember my physics teacher hated me though and kept telling me to drop out. I ended up passing with an A- I think. Even though he purposefully screwed my grades up a time or two. Long aggravating story.
Why'd you have to remind me of that? :P
-
Dunno, well, my teacher doesn't hate me, but everytime she asks something, if i raise my hand or try to answer, she ignores me.
I guess it's not because of me, but it's to give the rest of the class a chance to answer. In the end, i end up answering anyways. :P
I think i'll miss these days...
-
Cut a good stack of wood, finished putting the truck back together, and managed to feed myself.
-
Remember, I wouldn't be double posting if you were out accomplishing more. (That's called motivation people!)
Took out the trash, re-leveled the driveway after the last rain storm washed it away, trimmed all the low hanging branches on the drive way, did dough-nuts in the rear field in my truck (I've never tried that before.) Took second place a the shooting match, and finished putting up the insulation in the shop I'm building.
Now I hope to accomplish a good nights sleep!
-
Well, i forgot about the thread.
I accomplished to completely ignore stupidly all my exams and i screwed up 75% of them. Maybe i nailed 2. Today got in contact with an old old old friend, and seems we have so much more in common than i remember. Good times.
-
Sunday afternoon I beat the 'space marine' computer game (although on easy...)
-
Is that the new one Emp?
-
Yup:) now I just have to increase my online xp so I can get rid of the damned loyalist character!
-
Dam Smurfs get everywhere! Just as bad as the Blood Suckers, why can't they do a decent Chapter? like the Dark Angels for example? lol
-
Smurfs = Ultra marines? (Only marginally familiar with WH40k but still a fan.)
Managed to get 80% + of the walls finished in the shop, and have half the lights working! Yay for no more having to plug a bulb into an extension cord.
-
Yeah Smurfs= Ultramarines and Blood Drinkers=Blood Angels.
-
I always smile when I open a bottle of UltraMarine Blue paint at work. :) Reminds of the warhammer. I should draw a space marine on the bottle or something.
I accomplished making it to the day of Frigga!
-
I and my Sabina have cleaned up and rearranged the whole apartment in two days and are now ready to get our kitten tomorrow:)
-
For the language I'm inventing, Yaelic, I've invented an accompanying number system as well.
I've decided what every number up to 999 is called, starting at 0.
I took the time to invent it, and then counted through it up to 201 so that I could remember the way it works.
Awesome.
-
I drove 2200 miles in under 48 hours without the use of stimulants. Woo! *collapses*
Or a gas gauge. Or a left front brake for that matter. Ah, classic vehicles, so much fun...
-
We managed to surprise my mother with the laptop she always wanted. I'm posting from it actually, really uncomfortable if you ask me. XD
-
I've managed to start paint stripping my Wh 40K models on a industrial scale. By putting them in a large coffee jar a squad at a time and fill it with brake/clutch fluid.

Try some stuff called "Purple Power' too. It's biodegradeable, so you can toss it in the back yard when you're done.
I made it through a whole day at work, after a week of freedom without going completely insane. Tomorrow will be another day though....
-
I managed to seize two copies of to me very valuable books!
-
Bought a few WH 40K books (The Purging of Kadillus, Age of Darkness and Blood Reaver) few magazines, a hair cut (close cropped), a new mobile phone, and paint stripped another squad of models with another in the brake fluid. So all in all a pretty productive day.
-
I woke up.
-
I managed to somehow stay the whole night awake with just a laptop and a bottle of pepsi... is that an accomplishment, or just stupidity?
Meh, can't sleep now...
-
I helped set up a screen for a small movie theater for a Halloween event at my Aikido dojo. David-sensei was very happy for it.
I'm not sure if this counts but earlier, while trying to get on the Max train (the form of public transportation in the Portland, Oregon area) no one held the door for me when I called them to, and no one pushed the door-open button when I asked. So on the next train, I started holding a door open, even after the doors were closing for a few minutes. When asked why I was holding the door I said "because no one else would." Maybe this well being inspiring for this guy or something.
-
I managed to low-side my bike. Which isn't that bad. Actually, I kind of knew it was bound to happen, because I was taking a cruiser bike and running it through a field in the rain. Bikes and wet grass don't really mix. But it was fun, and I got to ride my bike sideways. I was laughing my butt off lying in the grass next to the bike at first. But now, the day after, I'm just a wee bit sore. Pulled a few more muscles than I first thought. :)
I do stupid things sometimes. Because I want to know how the rest of the world lives. :D
-
I finished my English Final.
-
Paid my storage, changed my oil, went to a meeting and got drunk with a friend. i accomplished quite a bit ^_^
-
Today I saved at least five worms from death by dehydration on my way to work.
Ended up late though... XD
-
Worthwhile effort I say para :)
-
Today I accomplished putting my left knee out again while cycling to and from work :-\
-
My dad thought I drew this: http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/172/12153382.jpg
I'm flattered that I've apparently reached a level where he thinks I could do that.
-
I built
the most a very awesome lamp for the lathe out of scrap metal. I shall have pictures later. I want to copper plate it before photos.
-
I paint stripped, rebuilt and converted a squad of WH40K assault terminators by adding Dark Angel stuff on them and built two Chaos Daemons Skull Taker(not on a base yet) and The Masque.
-
I took apart a satellite dish, a lawnmower, a ping pong table, and a home furnace and put them back together to make a foundry! Metal casting here we come.
-
Now THAT is a feat I want a DIY instruction for!
-
During an airsoft game limited to pistols and pump-action shotguns on the 14th, I managed to sneak into the back of a derilict sawmill part of the field and into the pitch black tools storage corridor. There I waited to see if anyone on the other team above had heard me. Heard someone back at my entry point shouting to someone above not to shoot down through holes in the floor, concluded that my team mate who held the entry had been eliminated.
I waited in the dark, pistol ready and spotted the one who shouted making his way through the debris diagonally across from me, having walked through the main hall paralell to my hiding place. I trailed him with my pistol for a couple of heartbeats, then fired with a satisfying grunt and a 'tagged' from my target!
Half a minute later, another of his teammates followed his trail to see where he was shot from and try flushing me out... he never saw my single 'killshot' either until it was too late!
-
I accomplished 2 things on my to do list of 10 things today.
Life is not easy some days.
-
I accomplished 2 things on my to do list of 10 things today.
Life is not easy some days.
I hear that...
-
I finally made the plunge and paid to start going back to school this fall.
-
Wow, that's pretty major! You'll kick ass, Ducky
-
Thanks! I'm equal parts nervous and excited, lol.
-
Good luck Chiefette! :)
-
Clearly made the right decision. Today I accomplished depositing the bonus check that I randomly got from work that completely offset what I paid in tuition yesterday.
-
YAY for ducky!
-
Fired up the foundry for the first test run today. Ended up going beyond testing to full on production of Aluminium Ingots and even dared to go into Brass territory.
Lesson learned, I build flame throwers way more badass than other people. Which means I need to start building crucibles that are way more bad ass. 2200 F flames + crucible rated 1800 F ish = some cracking.
-
What are you doing with the ingots?
-
What are you doing with the ingots?
I simply melted down random scrap into ingots that are sized to go back into the cuppola. The point being that every time you melt/pour metal, it tends to become a little bit purer. (If you do it right) Also, it makes it easier to store.
So in future, I know that when I add an ingot to the foundry, every ingot of Aliminium I add will be about 1lb. Plus a small pile of ingots look more impressive sitting on a shelf than a barrel in the side yard full of scrap :)
Today, I modified the burner to hopefully be more efficient! Don't know if I'll get around to testing that this weekend or not though.
-
Nice!
I discovered a metal-fatigue break on one of the crews holding the electric winding magazine for my airsoft M240B and trying to dissassemble the magazine, I accidentaly broke the wires going into one of the power connectors. But I plan to build my own magazine out of the parts anyway because the original BB holder was cardboard and I want something a bit more moisture resistant...
-
Today was...less than productive. But I have big plans for tonight!
-
Brought a new datacenter live ;D
-
I'm not sure you would call it an acomplishement, but I ordered the e-sig I've been wanting for ages.
-
Well have not accomplished it yet but going to try and pull a prank on a unit manager who is leaving today ;D
-
Helped a buddy score a nice tool find. $475(u.s) horizontal metal band saw for just $40.
The key to a successful negotiation strategy is to be polite, be punctual, be persuasive, be persistent and annoy the PISS out of the person you're tying to buy from so that they just give in to get rid of you.
-
Sounds like a old horse trader trick L0g0s lol,
I survived a week away with a couple of Service Users from work.
-
Today I temporarily (I hope) adopted a mama cat and her 4 kittens.
-
Finished off building a Vindicator siege tank and half finished a squad of Chaos Daemon Blood Letters, be starting to paint them and my Company of Dark Angels soon. And then onto converting my Space Marine flyers.
-
Dam another double post :o
Managed to finally pay off and stop a bank loan, bought 4 new Horus Heresy novels, bought my nephew his christmas present along with a Dark Apostle model for myself and a new pair of fabric boots.
-
This is a decent thread.
I caused two of my subordinates to have their names read for their positive contributions in a company-wide meeting.
-
Well done Stargoat!
I and my fianc? just won the bidding on a house!
-
Well done Emp!
-
Congrats Emp!! ;D
-
I did battle against 4 Spambots!
-
Modified the welder cart to fit the new plasma cutter as well. (AWESOME.) And replaced the leaky compressor regulator I've been putting up with in the shop for months. And did a lot of shop clean up/organizing. A clean shop is soooo nice.
-
I made some tea and listened to the Drifters. Now I suppose I should study for a final, but I really don't wish to.
-
I shoveled snow off the walk paths around my appartment house, it took about an hour.
-
So that will be your exercise done for the year then?
-
lol, nah, but for yeasterday. Then on saturday it's grading in KravMaga martial arts.
