Title: The Truth, Let Churba Show you it.
Post by: Churba on June 02, 2009, 11:34:01 pm
Alright, It's been a while. A lot's happened. My last truth hurts thread is lost to the junkyards of the internet.

So go on, ask me anything. I'll tell you nothing but the truth. Ask the right questions, and you might even get bonus stories.

So Lay on, And damned be he who first cries "Ho, Enough!"

Quote

Quote
Do you prefer using hard copy documents(paper trail) as opposed to online/virtual documents(anything on the compy) or vice versa?
Either, really. I'll print out important things to have a hardcopy backup, but I don't really have a preference.
Quote
are you ready for the summer?
England doesn't have summer.

*blinks* urmmmm...... come on i gotta have one more question....

Quote
What is your favorite constellation?:)
Orion. Salubi and I used to have this thing, long ago, where we'd call each other up on the phone, across the world, when it was dark in both England and Australia, and try to spot constellations together - Orion was the only one we could both see at the same time.

Hot Dogs or hambugers?
Hot-dogs, but Australian McDonalds do make some mighty fine hamburgers. No, I'm not kidding, they really do.

Quote
Katchup or Mustard?
Tomato Sauce  :P

Quote
US or UK?
I don't know. I've lived in the UK, but only visited the US. To visit, I'd take the US, but to live, right now, I'd take the UK.

Thank you, smiles, it has been too long. Regretfully that's a message that I won't be able to deliver - we stay well away from each other. With good reason. But I'll try - I have a few people I can pass it through.

Quote
do yo miss Australia?
Every frigid, depressing goddamned day.

Quote
how old are you now?
Twenty-two as of may the 12th. Didn't do much for my birthday - went to the royal armories, and just had a day of nothing.

Quote
what does a tea party consist of? (besides tea i mean)
Cakes, Pastries, and good friends. Salubi once had a Morrocan breakfast/tea party, just the two of us, on my front balcony back in Australia as the sun came up. Very sweet, and very romantic.

Quote
are there any movies out right now that you want to see?
I don't know, I've not seen a movie in ages. I don't even know what's on right now, other than Star Trek, so that, I suppose.

Quote
what movies do you think will rock on the big screen?
You think movies are good on the big screen, I used to have some friends that worked at the Southbank Cinemas, one of the few True Imax screens in australia - and they had a digital Ad projector that they discovered that you could hook a games console up to. You've not played Halo 3 till you've played it 70 feet tall with massive surround sound.

Quote
what do oceans mean to you?
Surfing, christmas, relaxing, and rum.

Quote
have you seen "the Color Purple"?
Except for the actual colour, no, unfortunately. I did see Status Quo in Hull, though.

Buying the drinks? I don't buy drinks, I make them. Ah, my home-distilled Caribbean style rum, there can be nothing better.

ah but you didn't say "home-distilled Caribbean style rum", that's something completely different. ;D

what kind of tea would you suggest to serve on the side at a long island iced tea party?

I know I didn't, because it's a mouthful, or considering that I'm typing, a fingerful.

Now, as for the tea....Definitely a softer or smoother tea with a complementary flavor, like lady grey.

Also - sorry to everyone that I've not been asking any questions of anyone else, but I just can't really think of anything to ask.

Quote
what is your choice of camera?
I have a few - I swing a Cannon EOS 300D back home, and I have a Canon IXUS point and shoot with custom firmware. I also picked up a Practica Film camera not long ago.

Quote
do you use a wireless mouse?
I did, but it died, so I'm using a wired Razer Krait at the moment.

Quote
air conditioning or fans?
Air-con for sure.

Quote
giraffes or elephants?
Elephants. I don't know why.

Quote
What made you do this?
The voices in my head. What this are you referring to?

Quote
are you tired of all these questions yet?
Nope. This is the easy part, the hard part is asking other people questions.

Quote
If a tree falls onto a mime in a forest would any one mind?
Believe me, people mind. You should see how they carry on about it back home, especially in Tasmania.

Quote
Do you wear odd socks?
Not really, my socks are pretty normal, long tube of cloth, hole at one end for feets to go in. They never match, though.

Quote
do you have any mystery meat in your fridge?
Nope. I know exactly what every meat in my fridge is.

hahahahahaha! you made it worse! :P
That was the intention, Ma'am.

Quote
why do eggs come in cartons of twelve?
Because when you're making scrambled eggs as part of a morning after breakfast for two, you need six eggs.
Quote
why is a bakers dozen more than 12?
Because back in the day, bakers short-changing a customer would loose a hand, so they would throw in an extra for the price of twelve to avoid being accused of cheating customers.

BONUS ROUND - To put it in the Delicate Parlance of my Geordie Housemate, "Ahm Fookin right proper mingin', like" So this is a perfect opportunity to engage the more Hunter S. Thompson side of my personality.

do you like the opposite sex in  uniform?
Very much so, though admittedly, I'll take either sex in uniform without qualms.
Quote
what is your favorite type of pie?
Apple or any sort of berry, for truly, they are the pies of the gods.
Quote
what is your favorite imaginary destination?
Rohanapur, the island lost to the law, awash in vice, with it's own civilization of life, death, and everything that has sprung into place where regular society cannot survive.
Quote
going or staying?
Wouldn't move an inch, I'll be staying no matter the cost.
Quote
strawberry or apple?
Strawberry, if you'd be so kind, ma'am.
Quote
why do i have grade school cheer leading chants stuck in my head?
Ma'am, I'm an Australian, not a mind-reader. I have no idea, however, I theorise that they are easy to get stuck in one's head since they're designed to do so, a regular cadence easy to remember, easy to chant along with. Pep rallies creep me the fuck out.
Quote
what's your favorite sport?
I was very good at baseball, but I gave it up a while back, though I still dabble, and I love the Ice hockey. I'm also reasonably adept, I have discovered, at Calcio Fiorentino. Edit - I might add, I don't speak very good italian, and my understanding of the rules are hazy, but to give you a basic picture - It's a brawl, with a ball, nets, and a scorekeeper, with teams of 27 a side. The Referees are less there to enforce the rules than to ensure that a riot doesn't break out.
Quote
you ever play cricket?
Not properly, only pickup games of beach cricket or backyard cricket.
Quote
what's your least favorite sport?
err...cricket. Sorry.
Quote
do you know of Mrs Gorf?
Biblically.
Quote
what is The Point?
A great place to surf, I hear.

FIRE! Shoot Straight, you bastards!

Do you like sweet corn?
Yes, but I hate Sweet Popcorn. Disgusting stuff.
Quote
have you ever had any fruit straight off the plant?
Yep - Pawpaws, Strawberries, apples, grapes, all sorts of things.
Quote
what is you favorite Australian dish?
I honestly don't know if there is a Truly Australian dish, so I'll take that Australia Day favorite of Barbecued Lamb.
Quote
Do you know to beware of sheep with zat sticks?
It's a habit ingrained in us from birth, in my country.

who is Hunter S. Thompson?
A famous author with a proclivity for alcohol and large amounts of psychotropic drugs, and a famously iconoclastic view of authority figures. The Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas guy.
Quote
do you like wearing hats?
Yes. I generally look alright with hats.

Japanese, preferably, but it's only a slim preference.

TEA. The only use for water is boiling and pouring on my tea-leaves.

knee high or ankle? (socks)
Knee high, I wear big boots, so ankle socks are rather uncomfortable.
Quote
sandals or flip flops?
Boots, I'm not big on sandals and the ilk.

Futurama, I'm not really huge on family guy. It's good sometimes, but it's hit and miss.

Do you think you are an honest person?
I wasn't before, but I saw what an utter scumbag I was, and I made the decision to change, and I did, so now I am, yes.
Quote
Do you think you know exactly who you are and why you do stuff the way you do?
Sometimes yes, and sometimes no, but does anyone, really?
Quote
Do you regret things you have said?
Of course, but mostly for the effects they had on other people.
Quote
Do you regret things you have done?
Yes, but much fewer things than most people think, almost nothing in fact, because what I've done made me into who I am today, and I like who I am, for the first time...well...ever.
Quote
Do you think i am asking these questions for a reason?
Maybe, but I'm Australian, not psychic, so I suppose I'll never know unless you tell me. The only question is if you will or not.
Quote
How would you like to have your life look like in ten years?
I'd like to be obscenely rich and famous, able to do whatever I liked, surrounded by my mates. But realistically, I'll probably be reasonably well of, 32 years old, standing in a metal tube pointing at exit doors to people who are steadfastly ignoring me and loving every minute of it, before I go home to a nice place, with someone I very much enjoy the company of.
Quote
Would you believe i am asking random questions?
No, because being a human, you cannot be truly random, as your experiences build patterns, biases and behaviors into you that over time and with enough data, are easily traceable, and thus, nothing you do is random.

Roasted venusian, with a sauce made from the cooking juices, water from mars, and some gasses from Jupiter bubbled through it.

are you surprised I haven't asked any new q's in a while?
Not really, because you obviously had other things to do. After all, I would be remiss to suggest that Smiles were not in high demand other places than here.

Quote
where you relieved you didn't have a million more q's to answer?
Nope, I like questions. I tend to let them build up a bit before I answer, unless it's been a while since I was asked a few.
Quote
what is your favorite kind of pie?
Apple pie is always good, but really, any sweet fruit pie. Also, Meat pies. Americans and Brits don't understand the true wonder of a good meat pie - though I do remember, sitting in a room at the pentagon a few years back, eating meat pies and drinking coopers, both shipped in from Australia for the state of origin rugby match.

Quote
do you like cheesecake?
I love cheesecake. Truly, it is the queen of all cakes.

Quote
what kind of cake should I serve at a long Island iced tea party?
Considering the flavor of a Long Island Iced tea, you'd want a variety of sweet cakes, both cheesecakes and lighter cakes, tending towards fruit flavors.

Quote
Do you think it's a red neck thing to roast marshmallows on a rake?
Only if you don't clean the rake first, or if it's a plastic Rake. I call it efficient. But then again, I also burned myself eating a marshmallow that was still on fire while I was really drunk one time.

Of course! Oh, and by the way, Dracula would kick Edward Cullen's Pasty, sparkly ass!

I'll admit, as a side note, I'm slightly melancholy right now. Salubi contacted me on MSN, and it was civil, but cold, and bittersweet. She told me she would be contacting me again in a rather nasty manner, though, it upset me rather a bit. Not tears and boohoos upset, but it was still quite hurtful.

Churba...i just don't understand a few things...
So i'll just ask away...if thats okay?
Please, feel free. If I can clarify at all, I'll be glad.
Quote
anyways...how are you?
I feel like shit, to be honest. Not enough sleep, mind going round in circles all night, and I'm still a bit down about the whole Salubi thing, after yesterday.
Quote
did you go to Salubi to visit her via this forum?
Not quite. It was a long time ago, propably late 2005 early 2006, when I started talking to salubi Via MSN, because we'd been chattering away on the old, old flipside forums like we tend to do, and I had a sleep schedule that roughly lined up with GMT/BST. So, after talking for a long time on MSN, we started talking on the phone, and then we fell in love. She came to Australia to meet me, I met her at the airport on September 19 2007 at 7:35 PM, and I'd kissed her for the first time by 7:37 PM. A week later, she moved into my house, and we lived together for the next nine months.

She had a bit of a hard time deciding if she should stay in Australia, or if she should go home to go to uni, I told her she should go to uni, and she encouraged me to follow - not that I needed much encouragement. She changed her Degree from Indonesian studies in London to Animal science, and then when faced with the decision of which university to go to, I encouraged her to go to Aberystwyth instead of newcastle, because even though I wouldn't be able to live in aberystwyth with her, it was the better school, and I loved her too much to see her compromise her education for me. Slightly before this, we'd spoken about and decided to get married - I even still have the ring.

In August, 2008, I came to england, but the week before that she'd started acting really wierd, and it only got worse over the next three weeks after that. To give you the cliffnotes version, at that three weeks, she went to uni, cheated on me, freaked out when I caught her out and broke up with me and has been putting me through hell ever since, and don't even get me started on that pathetic psycho scumbag from London she's picked up.

On second thoughts, if you want to hear about it, what the hell, it's your question to ask.
Quote
and did you go to Bohemian as well?
No, that came a bit later - he and Salubi were in the same town, and had met a few times already - I met up with him after everything went to shit with Salubi, Because she's also been spreading some really nasty stuff about me that isn't true, and thus, I can count the friends I have over here on less than one hand, with bohemian being one of them.
Quote
When did you visit them?
I didn't visit, so much as come over to get get married, become a citizen, and spend the rest of my life with her.
Quote
Are you still there?
Yes, but I will most likely be going home soon.

OMG....
That's awfull...You must be going trough hell...
Not to trivialize your experience, knowledge, sympathy and empathy, ma'am, you don't know the half of it - but that's mostly because That's the cliff-notes version. The long version includes all the fun stuff, like when her new boyfriend convinced her that I was stalking her with a fake facebook profile under the name of "Jessica Baum" - That was entirely his creation, after he got my password somehow(Salubi knew most of my passwords, you see, I'd made sure she'd memorized them back in australia - but I don't want to say she was willing giving it over or in any way complicit in this, because I'm not sure - but there are many ways he could have got it out of her) and used a spare e-mail account of mine to make an obviously fake profile, and added himself and Salubi.

Another incident was when I figured out about the diazepam, and that her behavior and physical symptoms lined up closely with the side effects of diazepam, and also she'd mentioned when I arrived, when I questioned her about her behavior that she was on "very strong drugs" and later said that she was "still on Diazepam" - I know, I'm stupid, it took me that long to work it out - but somehow the message and report I was putting around that was essentially a long winded version of "I'm concerned that Salubi Might be taking this drug, as she mentioned to me previously that she had it prescribed to her, and she should not be on it in the first place because of XYZ, and here's 12 pages of meticulous research to back up what I'm saying" somehow got twisted (either by her new psycho boyfriend or by her and then encouraged along that line by him - because everyone I spoke to, I was absolutely and meticulously clear in what I was saying) into "Salubi's a drug addict, and I'm the only one that can help her, you should make her get in contact with me"

Quote
I understand it could be nice to ventilate...
Rather, yes. I don't talk about it often anymore, because out of all the people I've spoken to about it, only 3 people have been sympathetic without putting her down, the rest all just go "What a bitch, what a bitch, she's horrible" so on, so fourth - which is not only tiresome, but I really don't like it, because it's not true - Salubi as I knew her, and as you all knew her, was a wonderful woman - as I said previously, I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her, and considering that previous to her, my attitude of marriage was "a great way to lose half your stuff, gain a bevvy of new enemies and waste a lot of time to break your own heart" and considering that my trust in women bar five or so was all but zero, as I'd been in an abusive relationship before that, and I frankly didn't want to be in another relationship, at all.

Quote
Would you like to do this by answering questions in here?
Well, if you can put up with me occasionally ranting, raving, frothing or foaming, but mostly just giving the most honest and complete answers I can, I'd like that a lot. While I could stand to talk about it in private, also, that invariably ends in me boring people to tears with just a wall of text, where they can barely slip a word in edgewise.

what is the best way to fake sickness?
Don't fake the raspy voice or any of that, everyone does that. One way is to  make the call from your bathroom, claim to have eaten something that's made you sick and kept you up all night, and mid call, apologise fast and try to cover the microphone of the phone, and make throwing up noises while pouring something with a bit of mass, something lumpy but still quite fluid into the toilet, while making throwing up noises. Then apologize when you get back on the phone, spit into the toilet, whatever else you need to do to finish the performance.

That would depend entirely on how determined you are.

I like love....and i like people who can talk about that one special person that makes them happy and causes them to cry....(unfortunatly)
That's the risk you take though, isn't it? The person you let into your heart, who you give the ability to make you truly happy, also have the ability to easily hurt you, right down to your core, in ways and in places that don't heal easily, if at all.

I fell in love with her by accident - I'd started talking to her not looking for romance or anything else, but just someone to talk to, and she was on my timezone as I was living it. Had Bohemian been online and she hadn't, I probably would have ended up talking to him, instead, and I wouldn't be sitting here as I am. But I also wouldn't have experienced All I did with her, and I wouldn't be the person I am today. It was her courage, faith and belief in me, and love that gave me the drive to pursue my dream of being a flight attendant.
I fell absolutely, utterly in love with her before I'd ever seen a photo, or ever heard her voice. It wouldn't have mattered in the slightest what she turned out to look like, I wasn't and am not in love with her looks - I was in love with her[/i]]her (ftp://[i).
Quote
Do you have many friends back in Australia?
Yes, Many - Flight school mates, Scouting mates, Theatre mates, old school mates. I would say that my direct social network is a web of about 200 or so people, most of whom I keep in regular contact with, not including people I know through friends and so on.
Quote
How did you find out she cheated on you?
Well, I knew something was up before she actually cheated on me - Out of the blue, the woman who had spent the last year or two unafraid to voice her fears that I might find someone better than her out of the blue, just before she goes away to university, that she Wouldn't be hurt if I slept with someone else while she was away, giving me full permission to do so - which I thoroughly declined, and stuck to despite more than one chance to do otherwise.

There was something that occurred in the interim that occurred that I won't speak of here, at the point where she came back for a day or two - the only point during this whole 11 month story that she's acted like the Salubi I knew and loved, and coincidentally the only period of time she'd said "I love you" since I got here and sounded like she meant it - but then the final straw that made me confront her about it was later, when she'd come back from Uni while her school was on holidays, and I twigged to someone on her facebook referring to her as his "Mrs" and the way he was talking when he left some messages - also, she'd basically made no effort to contact me over the past few weeks(well, pretty much since she'd gone to university), and whenever I did manage to get in contact, she was evasive, and outright lied about things more than once.

I was stressed out, depressed, confused and hurt with what was going on(Both specifically between us and in general) and how she was treating me, and I snapped. I stopped being passive, and actively looked into it - however, I got off on the wrong foot, and did something I'm really not proud of - I obtained his password and broke into his(the london boy's) facebook, at which point I discovered that he'd changed his relationship status to "In a relationship" some weeks before, and there were quite a few salacious messages going back and fourth between them in his inbox, and the kicker - A pending relationship request to add Salubi as his girlfriend.

At that point, I confronted her about it, and she admitted to kissing him, but told me that she wasn't dating him, though he wanted to, and a few other things - as well as accusing me of hacking into her facebook. Close, but not quite - I knew her password, but I didn't touch her facebook, I thought about going into it, but I decided against it. She also broke up with me at this point.
Also, she blocked me on facebook(claiming she'd deleted it), and accepted his relationship request. She also went down to London at that point to be with him, telling me she'd gone to Aberystwyth to tell him that she didn't want to be with anyone right now(which I suspected was a lie, but I couldn't immediately confirm until point number 3) - However, Salubi is a terrible liar, and missed a few points that immediately told me what was going on.
1)Her friend supposedly lived in the university Halls at Aberystwyth. Why would she be there over holidays, and also, how could she be staying there during a period where everyone had been emptied out of halls to be shifted about?

2)Why would he be in Aberystwyth when holidays were on, and nobody was there?

3)I run a pretty good firewall on my computer, that keeps track of all incoming connections, identifies them, and logs them. When she lied to me about I knew she hadn't, as she contacted me Via MSN and was telling me the aforementioned lies via that medium. The only problem - For someone supposedly staying with a friend in Aberystwyth, the only incoming MSN connection I had at the exact time I was talking to her was coming not from Aberystwyth, but from London.

And that is how I found her out, though foolishly at points, I followed my heart instead of my head, and belived her when she said she wasn't with anyone, instead of following my head, which was screaming "SHE'S LYING AND YOU KNOW IT FOR FUCKS SAKE, WHY ARE YOU BELIEVING THIS SHIT?"

Quote
Would you want her back if she would apologize for all the stuff and told you she wanted to send the rest of her life with you?
To be honest? Propably not. I still love her as much as I ever did, but I trust her about as much as I trust a hunger-crazed fox in a Henhouse full of chooks not to eat said chooks. I gave her a chance at Easter to tell me the truth, without consequences, offering that we go on as friends, and after subtly stating that I already knew the truth, she sat there, looked me in the eye, and lied through her teeth. I will admit, I did play up a bit, and exaggerated my emotions somewhat(once it became clear that fifteen minutes had gone by without a word of truth coming out of her mouth) to see what it would take to get a reaction out of her, and the only time she reacted to anything I said, at all - Was when I noted that she had lied, or suggested that she'd done something wrong, at which point she went into a fit of rage and was cursing me while threatening to leave and never talk to me again.
On top of this, consider that to even get her first to talk to me and then to agree to come meet me in the first place, I'd had to beg her forgiveness to the point of humiliating myself, and do you know what for?

I committed a horrible crime. Admittedly, I slipped up and accidentally mentioned something about Facebook, and she said that she'd deleted her Facebook, and I pointed out that this was a lie, and how I knew this. That's right - I had to Beg forgiveness for pointing out that she'd lied to me, to her face, and in a manner that was in no way impolite or offensive.

In time, I might come to trust her again, and maybe then I'd consider it, but right now, after the way she's treated me, I'm not even comfortable with her touching me, let alone being in a relationship with her. She Drove me into a breakdown, and nearly utterly destroyed me - I'm not proud to say, but I'll be honest about it - she fucked me over so badly and hurt me so much that I actively considered suicide multiple times, sitting there on my bed with a bottle of pills in my hand - The only reason I didn't was because I was reminded of my Cousin, who killed himself over a woman, and how that both effected everyone, and didn't help anything. I flushed the pills down the toilet later in the night of the third or fourth time it occurred, and pretty much battered myself for being so stupid, before resorting the following night, I am not proud to admit, to my old method of sorting myself out when my depression got that bad - Going out, Getting really drunk, and picking a fight with the biggest guy I could find.

Quote
Do you secretly hope for this to happen?
Despite the above answer - Yes. There is an enormous Salubi shaped hole in my life and in my being - my world, life, thoughts and heart were entirely centered on this woman for the better part of four years.
Also, as I've mentioned elsewhere on the site, Salubi has undergone a curious, disturbingly rapid personality shift of Phineas Gage proportions, not only once, but shifting before I got here, shifting back when she acted normally for a few days,  and then shifting again when she got back to uni after that - Tigers don't change their stripes without help, let alone change them, change back, and then change them again.

Also, a weird thing at the time she acted normal - when she greeted me on the day she saw me at that time, it was like it was the first time she'd seen me in a long time - pretty much exactly as I'd expected she'd greet me when I arrived in this country a month after she left Australia - unlike when I actually arrived, when she was all but emotionless. Sure, she smiled, and hugged, but the hug was like she was unwilling to do so, and the smile never reached her eyes.
Quote
What did you do for a living back in Australia?
I was in hospitality from the age of sixteen, and I've done a number of jobs, but just before I left Australia, I'd been a flight attendant, and I'd worked in a petrol station - However, I did turn down a massive offer from a new airline in Australia to be both a flight attendant and a "Face" as I would have been one of the first Flight attendants on the airline - just so I could come over here, to be with Salubi.

Sometimes they're ignorable, but when you can't ignore them, they suck something severe.

In Australia, my favorite was The Victory, but it burned down, and over here, my favorite is "The Smokestack", a dirty rock and blues bar out this way, tucked away behind a simple door, a sign, and a plain set of stairs.

don't like safety demo's?
Never have, but it's got to be done even though no bastard ever pays attention, so I just grin and bear it.

Quote
do you like your meat still mooing?
Not in the literal sense, no, I think I would find that slightly offputting.

Quote
where's the beef?
In the fridge, of course.

Quote
what's for dinner?
Most likely Lamb Korma.

Quote
what did you think of when you first woke up today?
Salubi. It's been a while, but I'm still not quite over the habit of rolling over and patting about to see if she's got up yet - even though she normally had, she's an early riser. After that, Parrots.

do you want to do a safety demo?
Not particularly, No, but I will if I have to.

Quote
shouldn't that be taken care of by the video tape?
It normally is, we're not doing much more than pointing out exits and demonstrating equipment these days.

Quote
the pilots should not be allowed anything to drink but caffeine perhaps?
You say that like they don't already. Hey, What seperates Flight attendants from the lowest form of life on earth? The cockpit door. *rimshot*

I don't have a seat-belt, love, I've got a full harness.

Dread Pirate Flint.

I'd be the Captain, but I wouldn't just arse about in my cabin with the wench, I'd pull my weight, and then spend the rest of the time in my cabin with the wench.

Quote
do you get sea sick?
Not really, no, I'd be a rather poor surfer if I did. You'd be able to figure out where I surfed by the long, slightly smelly trail in the water.
Quote
do you get air sick?
No, but I do know one woman, got through her training, graduated flight school, and on her maiden voyage, discovered that if she flew more than once a day, she got really, really airsick, to the point of incapacitation. To be fair, she persevered till after I'd left for different pastures, but took a medical severance in the end.

I drink both, though not simultaneously. I usualy drink tea(milk, no sugar) more at home, but if I'm out and it's not in a restaurant, I'll get coffee(Bloody strong, with milk, lots of sugar).

Well, there is always UHT milk, though the taste is inferior. However, there is always iceboxes, liquid nitrogen(available from your local welding supply store), dry ice, so on.

Quote
if you could control one element in the universe what would it be?
Carbon, of course, because then I could use it to form perfect diamonds, and make a massive, massive amount of money, so that I could do what I want and not have to mess about.

Quote
what is your favorite vegetable?
Cauliflower, I suppose. I don't know, I've never really thought about it.

Quote
what is the last song you listened too?
A tim Minchin song called "A ten foot cock and a hundred virgins"

Quote
what did you have for breakfast?
Buttered toast. I'm a simple man, when I'm not awake, And since I quit smoking recently, it rather curtails my traditional morning intake, which my father always reffered to as a "Whore's breakfast" - a smoke and a cup of tea.
Quote

On me? Fat, and hair, with some muscle buried somewhere underneath.

Quote

I do, actually. I never used to, but I came around to it.

what is the sum of two very large cats?
A Mega cat, very confused about it's origins.

Quote
if you divide tea by two what do you obtain?
You can't divide tea by two, because I already drank it.

Quote
sunset or sunrise?
Sunrise, I enjoy, and sunset, I enjoy. It's pretty equal, really, it more depends who I'm with at the time. Call me an old-school romantic if you must.

I'm not sure, that depends on a lot of things, but it should be pretty cheap - just remember to be careful while handling cryogenic materiel, and only use it in a well ventilated area.

Quote

A nice bit of rump steak, with some lettuce, pineapple, a bit of barbecue sauce, a spot of beetroot if you fancy it, and plenty of salt and pepper. Just go to pretty much any Aussie roadside or beachside cafe, they'll sort you out

Dogs or cats?
I go on a case by case basis - for example, my cat back in Australia, sooty, is gentle, lazy, and generally good, however, my housemate's cat elspeth is an evil, scratchy little thing, who everyone but my housemate thinks is a viscous little animal. Elspeth doesn't treat her any differently to everyone else, she just doens't figure that scratching, biting, and not letting anyone near her is cute or something.

Post by: Churba on August 14, 2009, 06:40:49 pm
what scares you?
Lots of things, but I never let it hold me back. It's more of a situational thing, scary is.

Quote
are you afraid of the unknown?
Yes, but not terribly so. The unknown is only unknown until you discover it, and I never fear to seek new knowledge and experiences. To do so would be to end up like my housemate, who not only strictly avoids reality and new knowledge, but boasts about it. While then boasting she's incredibly intelligent, and doesn't need to learn things, because she's so smart, she gets by without it, despite that she does nothing but sit around on welfare, playing GAIA, watching fluff cutesey anime, and talking to a small few online friends, consuming whatever junk keeps her away from the computer the least and takes the least effort, her mind contracting as her backside is expanding.

Quote
are you afraid of spiders?
Yes, but not as badly as I used to be.

Quote
are you afraid of the darkness?
Not really, no, it doesn't bother me any.

Ever been hit in the head with a frying pan?
Ever burn yourself on something?
Would you play the flute?
Are you the kind of person that is quick to anger?
Do you repress feelings?
What do you consider to be beautiful qualities of people?
What qualities of people do you dislike?

Ever been hit in the head with a frying pan?
Yes - one of the hazards of hanging out with chefs. Just ask you sister. Hot tempered, that lot. I'm glad I'm a bartender, and not a knife-monkey.
Quote
Ever burn yourself on something?
Many, many things.
Quote
Would you play the flute?
I would, I want to make my own bamboo flue, David Carradine in Kung-fu style.
Quote
Are you the kind of person that is quick to anger?
No, but sometimes it appears that way - I'm very slow to anger, but once someone has taken my anger, I tend to snap back to angry when the situation comes up later if it's not resolved.
Quote
Do you repress feelings?
All the goddamned time. I hate it, but it must be done, or I'm not fit for society.
Quote
What do you consider to be beautiful qualities of people?
It varies from person to person - for example in one person, a large amount of self confidence can be charming, but in another, it is nothing but crass arrogance. One universally admired quality in people is honesty, along with kindness, honor, and in blokes, being a gentleman.
Quote
What qualities of people do you dislike?
Again, it varies from person to person, however, I hate liars, and I hate people who use people - not in the "Oh, I should give you something in return, I hate to be using you" sense, but in the sense of people who genuinely use people purely for what they want and nothing else, and will go to whatever lengths they have to until the person is no longer of use to them.

So, you spend alot of time around chefs?
As much as any other hospitality professional. My most recent job was as the guy between the waiters and the kitchen, working under Anthony Flynn.
Quote
Do you like toothpaste?
Not as a meal, I prefer it for dental hygiene. Random aside - toothpaste is one of the worst things you can accidentaly get on your testicles.
Quote
Do you have an irrational fear?
I have a few, but I'd rather not discuss them.
Quote
Do you think being a gentleman has gone out of style?
Yes and no - It's gone out of general style, but the only thing that means is that the Style and aplomb inherent in being a gentleman has even more impact than it did when it was common.
Quote
Do you believe in stereotypes?
Not as a general rule, but they are not inaccurate in all cases.
Quote
Ever been stepped on?
Yes, both literally and figuratively.
Quote
Are you insane?
No more so than your average person.
Quote
Are you handy with a toolbox?
I'm very handy with a toolbox. why? Do you need something fixed? Solving problems is what I do best!

have you noticed my recent uninquisitiveness?
Yes, but since I'm terrible at thinking of questions, I know how it is, sometimes you can't think of anything.

Quote
what do you think of two naked girls running through the woods?
I think that sounds like an excellent idea. Woods are nice, naked girls are nice, two naked girls is twice as nice, and put all together, it's better than each of it's parts alone.

Quote
think they'll survive long enough to get away?
That depends, is this a horror movie, or just regular naked woods running?

Quote
should the hunter find them?
Would he know what to do with them when he caught them?

Quote
or should soemone else find them first?
Depends if I get to be the hunter or not.

Quote
are you gonna ask me some new q's since I'm asking you some?
Maybe. I'm not good with questions, they come to me when they come to me.

there's regular running naked through the woods?
Of course! See, if you're running naked through the woods horror movie style, as implied by the fact that someone is hunting them, you're running away from someone, but there is also regular running naked through the woods, which is just running about in the woods, having fun, but you're naked.

Quote
do you like to look at the stars?
Always. I have trouble looking at Orion these days, though, which is unfortunate, because that was always my favorite.

Quote
do you follow zodiac?
Not really, I think it's all just silly woo-woo, no offense to anyone who believes in it.

Quote
Do you follow Chinese new years?
Only for the parties, the rest of it, not at all.

Quote
do you believe your horoscope?
No, because they're just generic statements that people fit to themselves by rationalizing whatever is written.. You can give out the identical reading to 100 people, Each marked with their name and star sign as the only difference, and nearly all of them will claim that it's "very Accurate"

when was your last trip to the moon? to mars?
I was actually part of staging the first moon landing, on a secret soundstage located on the great face of mars. The Canteen forms the nose, and the mouth is actually the car park.
Quote
seen any purple hamsters lately?
I'm so tired, I'm surprised I haven't yet.

Well, sort of, but not really, no. I had a little swingset as a kid, but that was more something the parents owned than me, I just used it.

heh

what would be your ground rules if you had a sex slave? ;D
I've thought about it at length, and that would depend on the slave. But I would not be unkind at all, this much is certain, I would do my best to be as generous as possible.
do you enjoy autumn?
I do, actually, though less so here than back in Australia.
Quote
where is the rabbit hole?
This asumes that the rabbit hole exists as a physical construct rather than a construct of the mind.

Quote
for that matter where is Alice?
In a Mental institution, dreaming the whole thing, if American McGee are to be believed.

Quote
what is your favorite horror creature?
I'm fond of Freddy Kruger even though he's ostensibly not a horror creature, but the God of the Wired from Serial Experiments: Lain is also a big one with me.

Quote
what is the lamest horror creature?
The killer tomatoes from Attack of the killer tomatoes, though there is also a movie called "Killer Condom" (with the delightful by-line of "The rubber that will rub YOU out!") which is Lame in concept, but it's a hilarious movie.

Quote
cold plus rain is bad or good?
Depends on the conditions beforehand - I love the cool rain of a summer storm, but the freezing horrible winter rain here is definite doubleplusungood.

why is mulan considered a Disney princess when she isn't a princess?
Because it's Disney. In the original story, she was executed at the end, simply for impersonating a man.

Quote
she isn't the emperor's daughter right?
Nope, she's not.

Quote
alice isn't royalty either and she is consider one too?
Again, it's disney. They don't know what the hell they're doing.

10,000, and a loud voice says "Gouranga!"

Quote

I don't know, never thought about it before. The lessening of the summer heat, I suppose.

have you ever seen a blue moon?
Yes, both a figurative one(the third moon of a four moon season), and a literal blue moon, where particles in the air(usually smoke from fires or volcanic activity) scatter the red and yellow light enough to make the moon look blue.
what time is it?
5:12 PM, Eastern Australia time, or 7:12 am UTC.
did you have pudding recently?
Yes, Plum pudding around Christmas time. It wasn't bad, a bit too much rum, though.
what's for dinner?
I don't know yet, I'd have to put some thought into it. Probably something simple, I'm tired as hell today, and had a big lunch with plenty of stout. Yesterday's dinner was pretty simple, just chicken Kievs and vegetables of a roughly reasonable amount.
do you know your missed?
That's because I'm very dodgy, makes me hard to hit. But I'm always around, I just don't say much.

Post by: Churba on February 02, 2012, 11:29:30 pm
why don't you say much?
Because I don't have much to say at the moment. Very little of note occurs right now. This might change in the future, it might not. I'm not leaving, I'm just taciturn.
don't you like to talk with us?
I do like talking to you guys, I wouldn't still be around if I didn't. The only forums I've been on longer are Ghastly's Ghastly Comic, and Geeknights/Front Row Crew.
what do you do instead?
Work or write, mostly, though often the two are mutually inclusive - I do a lot of freelance writing, but I usually end up writing about double or triple what I end up selling, so it's a constant effort. Better than it used to be, though, when it was more like six or seven times as much. Make things or Play video games, sometimes, and I read at least as much as I write, if not more - both fiction and non-fiction, knowing things and keeping up with the world are kind of essential, as is keeping the storytelling muscles sharp, and showing them how other people do it. And I have a few little side projects going at any one time, but nothing that's particularly worth mentioning, or that I should mention at this time.
