Maytag takes Crest out on a date. Still ridiculously shy, he continues to have trouble forming complete sentences around her. Maytag seems determined to help him loosen up, but her old flame Umber has a warning for Crest...

As the date continues, Crest seems to be getting more relaxed, despite a few awkward conversations. But Maytag has more up her sleeve for Crest, and he may not be prepared...

Bernadette, Maytag, and Crest have left the town of Solstice. They have a new quest: a journey to the magic capital of the world Eschelon to find Bernadette's father and recover a certain sword. At camp that night, we hear a story of how Maytag and Bernadette first met.

The group makes a stop in a small town called Brahma. They hope for a little food and shelter, but the town seems strangely deserted. And then they find themselves greeted by a mysterious and dark figure... a woman called Bloody Mary.

The group takes refuge with the help of an old sorceress, Vajra. However, Bernadette has taken serious injuries, and Vajra has nothing but bad news for the rest of the party... it seems certain that Bernadette will die.

Two members of the Phalanx have arrived in Brahma, one of which is a young "genius" sorceress, Suspiria. She seems incredibly powerful for her age, as well as incredibly vain. The two of them attempt to kill Bloody Mary.

Maytag owes Suspiria a great debt, and all Suspiria demands in return is a simple favor... slavery. Maytag reluctantly agrees, which Bernadette is not happy to discover upon her awakening.

Bloody Mary returns. Suspiria has used up too much of her magic to be able to do anything, and her boyfriend Kindred has no choice but to try to protect innocent lives by himself.

Bernadette has a rematch with Bloody Mary. This time she is prepared, and although she is able to stop her opponent's attacks, killing her proves to be incredibly difficult.

Maytag finds herself in a horrible situation... she is completely at Bloody Mary's mercy, and will be slowly eaten alive. Her only recourse is to try talking her way out of this situation.

Maytag has a plan for how to deal with Bloody Mary, but Suspiria is desperate for revenge... and trying to convince her otherwise may be dangerous to Maytag's health.

The group is finally back on the road again, and they are now joined by the volatile Suspiria and a new companion, the enthusiastic yet slightly creepy Glyph. Maytag and Bernadette find themselves subjected to several embarrassing kinds of sorcery.

The group is making good time, but as nightfall comes they decide to stop at a castle for bed & breakfast. They meet some eccentric characters, including Danzig, the master of the castle. A late night bath does not go as planned.

Suspiria and Crest find themselves in a strange castle at night, and they seem to be trapped. After a bit of investigation, they stumble across something very dangerous.

Maytag is confronted by an old friend, Regina. She finds herself being heavily tempted to succumb to forbidden pleasures, but she is saved by another "old friend," Moss. However, Moss was never that friendly in the first place, and has his own agenda.

Maytag learns the truth about the castle she and her friends are trapped in. Now the only thing left is to escape... but that will prove to be impossible unless the group confronts Danzig himself.

Danzig proves to be a much tougher opponent than expected. Bernadette can't seem to even get close to him, and no one is able to use sorcery in her aid. Glyph has a plan, but Danzig is also holding an ace up his sleeve...

The group finally arrives at their destination. Eschelon is a city of wonders in which Maytag's lost limb can easily be regrown. But there's no way to bring Kindred back to life, and so the group pays their respects at his funeral.

The whereabouts of Bernadette's father are still unknown, so she relies on an organization known as The Amberynth Network, who specialize in person locating. In the meantime, Glyph's friends Moby and Buzz keep the group occupied. Maytag learns of Soundstones, devices which can give a person a much larger audience than she is used to... and suddenly a new dream is born.

As Bernadette waits patiently for news of her father, Maytag pursues her new dream of acquiring a soundshow. But it won't be easy... a huge amount of money is required. Maytag turns to her old reliable way of making money, poker. But in her rush to make a fortune, she takes on the best poker player in the world, Galdur.

Bernadette receives shocking news... her father now lives in the far away country of Marvallo! But a contest gives Maytag the chance of a lifetime to achieve her dream! It seems the only possibility is to split up, but the two of them remain connected by the powers of sorcery.

As Bernadette searches for her father, she runs across an old friend who she was very close to in the past. Meanwhile, Maytag is competing in the contest to win a sound show, and it is going well... until her former mentors Mayweather and Taggert attempt to sabotage her. After the incident, Maytag's chances to win the contest are uncertain, and her friends are acting a bit distant to her... especially Crest. Bernadette is still searching for her father, and with Polly's help she may have finally found him!

The quest is finally over! Bernadette has at last found her father, Grant! But he is not the man she was hoping to find. Not only that, but her quest for the magic sword's mate has also ended in disappointment.

Suspiria has been depressed ever since Kindred died, and Crest is worried about her. It's not only depression he has to worry about... it seems The Thin Man did something to Suspiria, and now that seed may finally start to grow.

Bernadette's attempts to get her father off the booze and to clean up his act have ended in failure. After nearly drinking himself to death, Bernadette needs to get Grant to a healer right away to save his life. But she is low on money, and Polly is inconveniently away on business.

Captured by Melter, Maytag is brought before The Thin Man himself. He turns out to be a man who defies expectations! What does he want with her, and what is mysterious painting ability?

Our protagonists have been split into three groups. Maytag is captured by The Thin Man. Bernadette is imprisoned with Polly and being forced to fight in a Colosseum in Marvallo. Crest is dealing with Suspiria in Eschelon. Each of them face their own trial.

But although Suspiria now has overwhelming power, Qtalda has an ace up her sleeve... the same spell she used to deal with Bloody Mary. But if Bloody Mary is really dead, why is there now two of her?
